Leonard (hand) is still "weeks" away from a return, according to coach Greg Popovich, San Antonio Express-News reports.
This is hardly unexpected, as an extended absence was anticipated after Leonard suffered a torn ligament in his right hand last month, but it sounds like Leonard may very well remain out for the majority of January. Marco Belinelli has fared reasonably well in an expanded role of late, recording double-digit points in three of his last four games.

Coach Gregg Popovich felt comfortable ruling Leonard out for Thursday's game against the Thunder, but was otherwise uncertain on if the forward would return to the lineup for Friday's game against the Pelicans, or if he was looking at a lengthier-term absence than that. Leonard still doesn't have the full range of motion in his hand, so it would seemingly be wiser to count on him missing the next handful of contests, barring rapid improvement with his condition.
