Arenado went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles, a walk, and two RBI in Thursday's loss to the Pirates.
The doubles were Arenado's 37th and 38th of the season, giving him 81 extra-base hits on the campaign. That mark ties him with Toronto's Josh Donaldson for second in baseball trailing only the Mets' Yoenis Cespedes (82). The power production was expected to arrive in time for Arenado, but certainly not to this extent in his age-24 season. If health permits in 2016, it's quite possible that he'll raise his slugging percentage yet another notch.
Thu Sep 24 201512:45Nolan Arenado: (Head) In Thursday's Lineup
Contrary to a previous report, Arenado (head) is hitting third in Thursday's lineup against the Pirates, the Denver Post's Patrick Saunders reports.
Saunders originally reported that Arenado was out of the lineup, but he was reading off the prior day's lineup card, so Arenado was not a late add, it was just an error by the reporter. Thankfully his head injury appears to have been really minor and he should continue to man the hot corner for the Rockies over the rest of the season.

Arenado (head) is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Pirates.
Arenado left Tuesday's game after landing on his head and it appears that injury will force him out of the contest Wednesday as well. It remains to be seen if it will impact the 24-year-old in the coming days, but for the moment Daniel Descalso will get the start in his place.

Arenado left Tuesday's game in the ninth inning after landing on his forehead while diving for a grounder, MLB.com's Thomas Harding reports.
He apparently passed concussion tests after the game, but it remains to be seen if Arenado will be forced to miss further time. Arenado went 1-for-4 with a RBI before being replaced by Daniel Descalso.

Arenado went 3-for-4 with an RBI, a steal and two runs scored in a win over San Diego on Friday.
It was only his second steal of the season, but it just adds to his impressive resume. The young third baseman is not only the best fielder at his position in the league, he very well may be the best hitter at his position. Arenado now maintains a .286 average to go along with 39 homers and 112 RBI in 143 games this season. He is not in the MVP discussion, but with numbers like those and the defense he provides, he probably should be.

Arenado went 3-for-7 with a go-ahead solo homer in the top of the 16th inning in the Rockies' 4-3 win over the Dodgers on Tuesday.
The homer was Arenado's 39th of the season, tying the Nationals' Bryce Harper for the National League lead. After playing all 16 innings of the game, it wouldn't be a surprise if manager Walt Weiss elected to rest Arenado for Wednesday's series finale.

Arenado went 1-for-4 with a solo homer in Thursday's 4-3 victory over the Padres.
Arenado continued his torrid September, smacking his eighth round-tripper in eleven contests. The third baseman is hitting .432 (19-for-44) during the month with 13 RBI. Arenado is having a banner year with the bat, setting career-highs in homers, RBI, slugging percentage and OPS. At only 24 years of age, the sky may be the limit for the Rockies' phenom.

Arenado hit his National League-leading 38th homer in Thursday's 4-3 win over the Padres.
Arenado hit one of four Rockies long balls on the afternoon, continuing his September power surge. The third baseman has homered in eight of his 11 games this month, a total greater than what his production from July and August combined (six homers).

Arenado smacked a game-tying solo homer in the top of the ninth inning in the Rockies' 2-1 loss to the Padres on Tuesday.
A day after exiting with a chest contusion he suffered while diving into the stands for a foul ball, Arenado reentered the lineup to supply the whole of the Colorado offense. The homer was his 37th of the year, which allowed him to surpass teammate Carlos Gonzalez for the NL lead.

Arenado (chest) will start at third base and hit fourth Tuesday in San Diego.
He left Monday's game with a chest contusion, but the injury does not appear to have been very serious. Arenado should occupy the cleanup spot for the Rockies almost every day going forward.

Colorado Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado will start at third base and bat fourth Tuesday against the San Diego Padres after leaving Monday's game with a chest contusion, according to the team's official website. Arenado suffered the injury when he dove into the stands while chasing down a foul ball, though he was able to play a few more innings before being removed. X-rays were taken to determine the severity of the injury, and he was diagnosed with a contusion after the results showed no fractures. Arenado has been one of the Rockies' best players this season, as he is hitting .287 with 36 home runs, which co-leads the National League with teammate Carlos Gonzalez, and 106 RBI, which is tops in the league. Despite his excellent play, the Rockies enter Tuesday's game with a 57-80 record, which puts them in last place in the NL West.
Tue Sep 8 201512:15Nolan Arenado: (Chest) X-Rays Come Back Negative
X-rays on Arenado's chest came back negative after he exited Monday's game with a contusion, the Denver Post reports.
Arenado, who went 1-for-3 with a double and a walk in the game before departing in the eighth inning, said he expects to be back in the lineup Tuesday. However, given that the Rockies are well off the pace for a playoff spot, it wouldn't be surprising if Arenado received the day off for precautionary purposes.

Colorado Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado was diagnosed with a chest contusion after X-rays taken after Monday's game against the San Diego Padres came back negative, according to the Denver Post. Arenado was injured when he dove into the stands attempting to catch a foul ball in the sixth inning, but he still expects to be in Tuesday's starting lineup. "It was hurting and, as the game went on, it got tight a little bit every time I threw," Arenado said. "It kind of hurt. and my last at-bat (in the seventh inning) it was feeling a little sore. I'll be OK. ... I thought if I dived, I would land on some people, but there was nobody sitting there. I saw the ball. It almost hit my glove, so it was right there. I just didn't jump far enough. It was worth it. We won, and that's all that matters."

Arenado left Monday's game against the Padres with a left chest contusion and is still awaiting X-ray results, Jeff Saunders of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Arenado went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Saturday's 7-3 loss to the Giants.
Arenado's unprecedented hot streak continued into Saturday, as the 24-year-old has now homered in each of his last six games -- a stretch including five multi-hit performances. While Arenado could stand to improve his walk rate, he's posted MVP-caliber offensive numbers, including a .292 ISO ranking only behind Bryce Harper in the National League.
Sat Sep 5 201502:00Arenado 3-4 with solo homer in Friday's win over Giants
Arenado went 3-for-4 with a solo homer in Friday's win over the Giants.
The rich keep getting richer. Friday was the latest in a long series of strong performances by Arenado, who has nine homers, 16 RBI and 25 runs since Aug. 1. The young slugger ranks just behind Josh Donaldson for second in the league among third basemen in homers, RBI and runs for the season.

Arenado went 3-for-5 with a double, home run, two RBI, and two runs scored in Thursday's 11-3 win over the Giants.
After a nearly two-month power outage, Arenado has reemerged on the scene in loud fashion, homering in four straight games and collecting an RBI in six consecutive contests. Arenado leads all of baseball with 102 RBI, and would be tops in the NL in homers if teammate Carlos Gonzalez hadn't been matching him tit for tat in the power department over the last few days. The third baseman could still stand to show an improved eye at the plate, but between his elite defense, ever-inflating slugging percentage, and solid contact hitting, it's becoming increasingly difficult to nitpick his game.

Arenado went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in a 9-4 win over the Diamondbacks on Wednesday.
It was yet another first-pitch home run for Arenado, as he now has double-digit first-pitch home runs this season. Over the last two days Arenado has seven hits and three home runs. If you're into your fantasy playoffs, Arenado is carrying you as he did all season long. He is now on pace for 40 home runs and 120 RBI, which is an MVP-caliber season with the elite defense he provides.
