Fri Nov 5 201013:48Will Bynum (hamstring) game-time for Friday
Pistons guard Will Bynum (hamstring) will be a game-time decision on Friday.
With Rodney Stuckey potentially out or limited for disciplinary reasons, this would be an ideal time for Bynum to make his return. He's a high-energy player who proved last season that he can provide fantasy value when given enough minutes, but as long as Stuckey is around that won't happen.

Mon Nov 1 201017:24Bynum ruled out for Tuesday
Will Bynum has been ruled out for Tuesday due to a hamstring injury.
The longer he's out, the better Rodney Stuckey looks.

Sat Oct 30 201019:19Will Bynum out again on Saturday
Pistons guard Will Bynum (hamstring) is out again on Saturday.
Fantasy owners should just keep him benched until we see him back in action -- Ben Gordon should absorb most of Bynum's minutes, since for all of Detroit's position battles they are short on backup PGs.
Fri Oct 29 201018:50Will Bynum (hamstring) out on Friday
Pistons guard Will Bynum (hamstring) will not play against the Thunder on Friday.
Bynum shot 3-of-10 in the opener but clearly hasn't been able to completely shake this nagging injury. Considering he fought through bumps and bruises for much of last season, this isn't too surprising a start to 2010-11.

Mon Oct 25 201022:13Bynum (hamstring) practices Monday
Will Bynum (hamstring) practiced Monday and appears ready for the team's season opener on Wednesday.
There isn't much concern that he will miss the game, so we fully expect him to back up PG Rodney Stuckey until further notice. He's not worth drafting at this point, but is a good bet to have fantasy value at some point during the season.

Thu Oct 21 201022:35Bynum, Wilcox unlikely to play Friday
Will Bynum and Chris Wilcox, who are both nursing hamstring injuries, are unlikely to play in Friday's preseason finale.
Bynum has always shown promise and even started a couple of preseason games for the Pistons, but if he's not on the court to show owners that he's going to earn more than backup minutes he's not worth drafting. But be ready to grab him off the wire if something changes.

Tue Oct 19 201008:47Bynum, Wilcox gametime decisions Tuesday
Will Bynum and Chris Wilcox are both nursing hamstring injuries and will be game-time decisions for Tuesday's game against the Wizards.
Bynum has started the last two games at point guard for the Pistons, and Rodney Stuckey went off for 25 points, five boards, and five assists coming off the bench on Saturday. Tuesday's game will go a long way in determining if Bynum can carve out some fantasy value.

Sat Oct 16 201021:48Bynum starts again at PG on Saturday
Will Bynum drew the start for the second straight game on Saturday, and scored eight points on 4-of-7 shooting with two rebounds, five assists, a steal, and five turnovers in 29 minutes.
Some believe that Bynum has looked better than Rodney Stuckey this preseason, who incidentally went off for 25 points, five rebounds, and five assists off the bench tonight, but we're not convinced there is a changing of roles here, yet. Either way, Bynum is still not draftable in normal formats.
Sat Oct 16 201000:44Will Bynum scores 12 in start for Pistons
Will Bynum hit just 1-of-6 shots, but also made all 10 free throw attempts on his way to 12 points, five assists, two steals and four turnovers in a rare start at point guard for the Pistons.
Bynum has proven to have fantasy value over the last couple seasons, but won't earn more than a timeshare as long as Rodney Stuckey is healthy. Ignore him in standard leagues.
Fri Oct 8 201022:20Bynum plays 43 minutes in overtime win
Will Bynum started and played 43 minutes, scoring 14 points on 4-for-11 shooting with four rebounds and nine assists.
43 minutes is an awful lot of playing time for anyone in the preseason, but it's more understandable here given that Richard Hamilton, Tracy McGrady and Terrico White were all out of the lineup. Expect Bynum to come off the bench and back up point guard Rodney Stuckey during the regular season.
Sat Aug 14 201010:07Will Bynum hopes to start for Pistons
Pistons guard Will Bynum, who recently signed a three-year, $9.75 million contract, feels that he should be starting next season.
"I'm looking forward to a great year," Bynum said. "I don't think for one second that the money I'm making makes me a reserve. I just want to clear that up from the beginning." The problem is that currently Rodney Stuckey is the starting PG and Rip Hamilton is the starting SG, neither of which is likely to change soon.

Fri Jul 30 201010:25Bynum officially re-signs with Pistons
The Pistons officially re-signed guard Will Bynum to a contract on Friday.
It's believed to be a three-year deal worth about $10 million. "Will brings unique skills to our team at the point guard position and we feel his leadership and play-making abilities will continue to grow and evolve," said Joe Dumars. Bynum will have fantasy value if the Pistons suffer injuries in their backcourt, but is currently stuck behind Rodney Stuckey and Rip Hamilton on the depth chart.

Wed Jul 28 201014:33Bynum's Pistons deal worth $9.75 million
The Detroit News cites a team source saying that Will Bynum's deal with the Pistons is worth $9.75 million, not the $10.5 million previously reported.
That may slightly alter the catering plan at Bynum's celebration party, but it won't do anything to change his fantasy value for the upcoming season. Bynum is expected to back up Rodney Stuckey and should only be worth consideration in deeper fantasy leagues.

Wed Jul 28 201013:18Pistons to re-sign guard Will Bynum
The Pistons have reached an agreement to re-sign guard Will Bynum to a three-year, $10.5 million contract.
Bynum has been a work horse for the Pistons and some folks think he's better suited to run the point than Rodney Stuckey. He also has a 26-point fourth quarter to his credit in a 2009 win over Charlotte, and had 20 assists in a win over Minnesota last year. He can play, but may not get enough minutes to make a big fantasy impact.

Tue Jul 13 201010:45Pistons still talking to RFA Will Bynum
Restricted free agent guard Will Bynum continues to negotiate a deal with Pistons' president Joe Dumars, though no agreement is imminent.
"We've had a lot of conversations, but there's nothing new to report," said Bynum's agent. It's possible that Dumars will let the market dictate Bynum's value, since the Pistons can always match any offer sheet.

Fri Jul 9 201015:09Pistons general manger Joe Dumars and agent for Will Bynum have ...
Pistons general manger Joe Dumars and the agent for Will Bynum have been talking almost daily, but no contract has been agreed upon.
Bynum is a restricted free agent but the Pistons have vowed to match any offer that he receives. He was effective filling in for injured players last season and should thrive once again coming off the bench in Detroit.

Tue Jul 6 201006:47Pistons expected to match offers for Bynum
The Pistons say they intend to match any offer that restricted free agent Will Bynum receives.
The Pistons have put their stance out in the open and likely scared teams away from Bynum. No one wants to have a bunch of money tied up in a Will Bynum offer sheet for a week in the midst of all this madness. In the end, Bynum will likely return to the Pistons as an excellent backup guard.

Tue Jun 22 201010:00Bynum's agent hasn't talked to Pistons
The agent for impending restricted free agent Will Bynum has not spoken to the Pistons yet.
When Rodney Stuckey was out last year, Bynum burst onto the scene with a 20 assist game. An explosive slasher without a 3-point shot, Bynum is probably best served as a bench player on a good team. If the Pistons let him walk, he'll garner plenty of interest.

Wed Apr 7 201022:44Bynum could benefit from Stuckey absence
Will Bynum played 38 minutes with Rodney Stuckey (ribs) exiting early on Wednesday, and scored 17 points on 7-of-15 shooting with two rebounds, three assists, and four steals.
News hasn't been released regarding the severity of Stuckey's rib injury, but at this stage of the season he may be more prone to sitting out or shutting it down. In that regard, Bynum is worth a speculative add, although owners should still be sensitive to who they are dropping since we don't know Stuckey's status.
