Mon Nov 7 202218:13Carlos Correa Officially Opts Out Monday
Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa officially opted out of his $35.1 million player option for the 2023 season on Monday, according to the MLB Players Association. This was the expected move after the 28-year-old signed his one-year deal with the Twins in March. Correa played in 136 games in his lone season in Minnesota, slashing a strong .291/.366/.467 with an .834 OPS, 22 home runs, 64 RBI and 70 runs scored in 590 plate appearances. The 28-year-old two-time All-Star will have plenty of suitors on the open market as one of the best available shortstops in a loaded free-agent crop this offseason. If the Los Angeles Dodgers aren't able to re-sign Trea Turner at the 6, Correa could become an option for the Dodgers.

Fri Oct 28 202214:20Dodgers Have Their Eyes On Carlos Correa
If Los Angeles Dodgers impending free-agent shortstop Trea Turner decides to go elsewhere on the open market this winter, the Dodgers will be looking at Minnesota Twins impending free-agent shortstop Carlos Correa. The Dodgers are reportedly intrigued by replacing Turner with Correa. The Dodgers "love everything" about Correa and "don't seem to have 2017 reservations" so far. Correa was on the 2017 Houston Astros team that was caught cheating after they beat the Dodgers. Along with Correa, Xander Bogaerts and Dansby Swanson will be on the shortstop market this year in free agency, so LA will have plenty of options to replace Turner if he departs. In his lone season with the Twins, Correa hit .291/.366/.467 with an .834 OPS, 22 homers, 64 RBI and 70 runs scored in 522 at-bats.

Wed Oct 5 202215:36Carlos Correa Isn't In Wednesday's Lineup For Twins
Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa isn't in the lineup for the Minnesota Twins on Wednesday. The 27-year-old is hitting .291 this season with a .366 on-base percentage and 22 home runs in 590 plate appearances. Instead, it'll be Jermaine Palacios hitting eighth and getting the start at shortstop. Palacios has logged 73 plate appearances in the Majors for the Twins this season, batting .136 with a .181 on-base percentage and a home run in 73 plate appearances. Fantasy managers in search of streaming help at the position are probably better off looking elsewhere.

Tue Jun 7 202217:04Carlos Correa Likely To Return Wednesday
Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa is working out at shortstop on Tuesday and is likely to return from the COVID-19 injured list and play on Wednesday. The fact that he's working out with the team suggests that he's cleared the league's COVID protocols after testing positive for the virus on May 31. If the 27-year-old gets through his workout fine on Tuesday, we should expect him to be activated on Wednesday and return to the Twins starting lineup. Before landing on the injured list, he was hitting a strong .279/.344/.407 with three home runs, 16 RBI and 17 runs scored in 154 plate appearances covering 35 games. Tue May 31 202213:59Carlos Correa Goes On COVID Injured List
The Minnesota Twins placed shortstop Carlos Correa on the COVID-19 injured list on Tuesday and selected the contract of infielder Jermaine Palacios from Triple-A St. Paul in a corresponding move. The Twins found out on Monday that Correa tested positive for the virus. The 27-year-old is vaccinated but isn't feeling well and will need to clear the league's protocols before he's able to return. With prospect Royce Lewis (knee) also on the injured list, Palacios made his major league debut on Tuesday at shortstop and in the nine-hole against the Detroit Tigers. Jorge Polanco can also help fill in at shortstop while Correa recovers. Correa needs to be held in all fantasy formats. Jorge Polanco started at shortstop on Monday, with Luis Arraez playing the keystone. Nick Gordon and Jose Miranda could also help fill in in the middle infield while Correa is away from the team. Wed May 25 202200:14Carlos Correa Stays Hot At Plate Tuesday
Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa continued his hot streak in Tuesday's 2-0 win over the Tigers, going 1-for-3 with a double, an RBI, a walk, and a strikeout. Correa has hit .333 with four RBI in his last six games since returning from the injured list with a right middle finger contusion. It would take a lot for fantasy managers to become worried about Correa, but it is encouraging to see him performing well since returning from his injury. Hopefully, this streak will translate into more power production, as Correa has slugged just .391 on the season.

Minnesota Twins manager Rocco Baldelli said that shortstop Carlos Correa (finger) will be activated from the 10-day injured list prior to Tuesday's game against the Oakland Athletics. Mon May 16 202211:32Carlos Correa Could Be Back This Week
Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa (finger) did some swinging and throwing and took some light ground-ball drills before the team's game on Saturday against the Cleveland Guardians, and manager Rocco Baldelli said they are hoping that he returns from the injured list this week. "He's going to get a lot of swings in the cage, and getting more and more reps as opposed to just taking a few swings and saying, 'Hey, that feels all right,'" Baldelli said. Correa landed on the IL with a right middle finger contusion, but he could be activated as early as Monday, when he's eligible to return. The 27-year-old has hit .255 with two home runs, 11 RBI and 12 runs scored in his first 24 games with the Twins, and his fantasy managers are hoping he's back sooner than later this week.

Tue May 10 202216:11Carlos Correa Officially Placed On 10-Day Injured List
The Minnesota Twins placed shortstop Carlos Correa (finger) on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday. This move was expected as Correa still needs some time to recover from fouling a ball off his right hand on May 5. While he didn't break any bones, his right middle finger is still bruised and he needs additional time to recover. The move to the injured list is retroactive to May 6. The team called up outfielder Mark Contreras to take Correa's roster spot, but the player who benefits most from Correa's absence is highly-touted prospect Royce Lewis, who will continue to serve as the team's primary shortstop while Correa is out.

Tue May 10 202215:12Carlos Correa Expected To Go On Injured List Tuesday
Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa (finger) is expected to go on the injured list on Tuesday. He hasn't had any setbacks and his finger isn't worse, but his recovery is taking a little longer than he originally hoped, and he likely needs three to four more days to rest. The Twins initially thought that Correa broke his right middle finger, but tests showed only bruising. The 27-year-old will be out for a fourth straight game on Tuesday, and the Twins need a healthy body on the roster. Royce Lewis will continue to serve as the team's everyday shortstop until Correa is eligible to return from the injured list. The good news for fantasy managers is that Correa should be ready to return when he's eligible.

Sun May 8 202219:24Carlos Correa Unlikely To Play On Tuesday
Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa (finger) is unlikely to return to the starting lineup on Tuesday. He missed his third straight game on Sunday due to a finger injury. The Twins are scheduled to be off on Monday before starting a series with the Houston Astros on Tuesday. The organization will attempt to keep Correa off the injured list, but we'll see if that happens. Royce Lewis played shortstop on Sunday, so he could get more chances, assuming Correa continues to miss time. Fantasy managers will need to be patient with Correa right now.

Fri May 6 202200:45Carlos Correa May Have Non-Displaced Fracture In Finger
Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa underwent imaging on his middle finger after being hit by a pitch twice on Thursday, and early indications are that he may have a non-displaced fracture. The 27-year-old will undergo a CT scan on Friday to confirm the diagnosis, but it sounds like he will miss some time with the injury. The extent of the injury should be provided from the club sometime tomorrow, but the good news is that he won't require surgery if it is a fracture. Correa has two homers and 11 RBI so far with his new club through 24 games as fantasy managers should start searching for a backup plan to fill their shortstop position on their roster.

Thu May 5 202222:45Carlos Correa Has Right Finger Contusion
Updating a previous report, the Minnesota Twins are calling shortstop Carlos Correa's (finger) injury a right middle finger contusion. He will undergo imaging on Friday when the team returns to Minneapolis, according to interim manager Jayce Tingler. Correa was removed from the game early on Thursday after being hit on two separate occasions. For now, fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day, but there's a chance this could be a more serious injury that sidelines him for more than just a day or two. Prepare for that possibility. If the 27-year-old winds up missing extended time, Nick Gordon would see an uptick in playing time at the 6 in Minnesota. Correa entered the day hitting .264 with two home runs, 11 RBI and 12 runs scored in his first 99 plate appearances of the season.
