In his absence, Kendrick Perkins and Mitch McGary figure to see the bulk of the available minutes at center for the Thunder. A clearer timetable for Adams will likely become available after he makes progress in the healing process.

Adams has had decent value at times this season, but most of his good stretches happened while Kevin Durant was sidelined by injury and there were more offensive opportunities available for Adams. He should be dropped in any standard leagues where he's still owned, but keep Adams on all watch lists incase he finds his groove later in the season.

It's the second straight game in which Adams' court time was limited despite not being in foul trouble, although he was able to stay somewhat productive in this one. Until he earns more of Thunder coach Scott Brooks' trust though, the young center will likely remain an inconsistent fantasy asset.

Still, he's locked in as the starting center for the Thunder, and is a relatively cheap option for serviceable fantasy production.

Adams had one of the best performances of his career Thursday, putting up 16 points and a career-high 15 rebounds to go with one assist, two steals, and three blocks in 31 minutes.

Adams has worked his way into being a standard-league option. Over his last five games, he's averaged 10.0 points, 10.2 rebounds, 1.0 steal, and 1.4 blocks in 27 minutes per game. That production is worth taking a flier on. While some of Adams' rise in value may be due to Kevin Durant's (ankle) absence, there're also plenty of reasons to think Adams has simply taken another step in his development.

Adams played a season-high 35 minutes against the Lakers on Friday and finished just shy of a double-double with nine points and 10 rebounds to go along with one assist, one steal, and one block.

Fellow center Kendrick Perkins (knee) missed Friday's game and Adams absorbed the workload that the veteran left behind. Perkins' injury isn't believed to be serious, so Adams may very well go back down to the 24.6 minutes that he's averaged per game this season.

Adams now has 27 combined rebounds in his past three games, and he had his eighth block of the month Friday. Owners in need of some defensive production in category leagues should keep an eye on Adams's production.

Adams has proven to be an asset for the Thunder's frontline. He is averaging 1.3 blocks early on this season, but the fact that he was able to have the most blocks on a team with Serge Ibaka and Kendrick Perkins says a lot about the second year man. His defensive efforts are always apparent and owners in need of a boost in defensive categories should take notice.

Adams scored nine points and grabbed nine rebounds in Monday's loss to the New Jersey Nets. He also added one assist, one steal, and one turnover in 30 minutes of action.

Adams is a mobile center who is still a little raw offensively. He has a firm grasp on the starting job over Kendrick Perkins and should excel in his role as a 'high energy' player at the C position. It's not crazy to expect him to average close to a double-double per game this season, which makes him a viable option in 12-team leagues.

It's long been speculated that Perkins would eventually move to the bench, as his effectiveness has waned in recent years. Adams proved last season that he's capable of excelling at both ends of the floor, and he especially provides more of an offensive threat than the slower Perkins. As a rookie last season, Adams averaged 3.3 points and 4.1 rebounds in 14.8 minutes. Those numbers figure to make a considerable leap in Year 2.

Adams' biggest flaw is his propensity to get in foul trouble. He picked up 11 fouls in his first two games of the preseason, but has just four in his last two, so perhaps it's getting drilled into the young center that in order to play big minutes, he needs to clean up his defense. Adams is worth a pick in most category leagues, given his upside in all the relevant big-man stats.

With the injury to Kendrick Perkins, Adams should have a huge opportunity in front of him, as he'll most likely take the bulk of the reps as the starting center during training camp. Adams is only going into the second season of his career, so Perkins still has the veteran edge over him, but with Adams showing a lot of promise last year, he could prove himself to be the Thunder's center of the future. He has a much higher ceiling than the declining Perkins, so we'll see what coach Scott Brooks does once Perkins returns.
