Fri Feb 3 201212:05Belisle gets new deal from Rockies
Rockies signed RHP Matt Belisle to a one-year contract extension.
The deal also includes a mutual option for 2014, and CBSSports.com's Danny Knobler says the righty will receive a minimum of $4.35 million in the new deal. Belisle's numbers fell back a bit in 2011 from the previous season, but he still had a nice year, posting a 3.25 ERA and 1.26 WHIP while leading all MLB relievers with 10 wins. He'll help set up for Rafael Betancourt this season.

Sat Feb 19 201109:32Belisle signs extension with Rockies
Rockies signed RHP Matt Belisle to a two-year, $6.125 million extension.
He signed a $2.35 million deal last month to avoid arbitration, but this new deal will wipe that out and give him an additional year, which would have been his first of free agency. He'll also have the opportunity to earn more through performance bonuses. The Rockies have shelled out a lot of money to relievers this offseason just a year after giving closer Huston Street a big deal, signing Matt Lindstrom, Rafael Betancourt and now Belisle to extensions. Belisle, who posted a 2.93 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 91/21 K/BB ratio over 92 innings last season, would be one of the candidates for saves should Street go down.
Wed Jan 12 201120:03Rox, Belisle agree to one-year, $2.35M deal
Rockies and RHP Matt Belisle avoided arbitration Wednesday by agreeing to a one-year, $2.35 million contract.
Belisle made $850,000 last year and is getting the raise he deserves after posting a fantastic 2.93 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 91/21 K/BB ratio over 92 innings of work. The right-hander will operate in long relief for the Rockies again this year and will have value in leagues that count reliever holds.

Matt Belisle underwent successful knee surgery on Monday.
Belisle pitched through a torn meniscus for most of the season and still managed to post a 2.93 ERA and 91/16 K/BB ratio over 76 appearances. It was a relatively minor procedure and he should be ready for the start of the 2011 season without a hitch.

Tue Oct 26 201010:57Belisle to have minor knee surgery next month
Matt Belisle is scheduled to have minor knee surgery in November.
Belisle tore his meniscus in the early part of the 2010 regular season but opted to pitch through the discomfort and deal with it in the winter. He went on to post a stellar 2.93 ERA and 1.09 WHIP in 76 relief appearances, striking out 91 batters while walking only 16. He should be fine for the start of spring training and will operate as a bullpen workhorse again in 2011.

Wed Jun 23 201008:41Belisle notches save vs. Red Sox
Matt Belisle notched the save in Tuesday's win over the Red Sox.
It wasn't pretty, as he gave up one run on two hits, however he got the call with Manny Corpas struggling and Huston Street being eased back into the role. We have no idea if this was a one-day thing, but he could be worth a short-term investment this week. Belisle has a 3.12 ERA and a 46/10 K/BB ratio over 43 1/3 innings this season.
