Sun Mar 20 202213:13Xander Bogaerts To Remain At Shortstop
Boston Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts will remain at shortstop in 2022 after the team signed Trevor Story on Sunday. Story has agreed to play second base for Boston. Bogaerts has an opt-out clause after the 2022 season that he's expected to exercise, so if Bogaerts leaves after this year, Story could move back to the 6 as early as 2023. Story prioritized winning and was willing to play second base in the short term. Bogaerts finished last season with a .295/.370/.493 slash line with 34 doubles, 23 home runs, 79 RBI and five steals in 144 games. His overall line would've looked a lot better if not for a disappointing second half in which he dealt with a wrist injury. The 29-year-old isn't a big power threat at the position, but he has a solid floor and should once again have plenty of RBI opportunities in a strong lineup.

Mon Feb 21 202216:58Xander Bogaerts As Consistent As They Come
Boston Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts had another extremely productive year in 2021, finishing with a .295/.370/.493 slash line, 23 home runs, 79 RBI, five stolen bases and 90 runs scored in 144 games (603 plate appearances). A bout with COVID-19 and a wrist injury in the second half of the season slowed him down a bit. Entering a contract year with an opt-out clause in his contract after the 2022 season, the 29-year-old will be motivated to have another excellent season. Bogaerts has only had more than 24 home runs one time and has topped 100 RBI just twice, but he should continue to be solid in rate stats and will continue to hit in the middle of a potent Boston lineup. After the top tier of fantasy shortstops, Bogaerts is a great consolation prize as RotoBaller's No. 7 shortstop.

Sat Jul 31 202100:44Xander Bogaerts Scores Two Runs Friday
Boston Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts scored two of Boston's three runs against the Tampa Bay Rays Friday, going 2-for-5 with two singles. Bogaerts has not enjoyed a very strong July, slashing just .227/.294/.373 with two home runs in 75 at-bats. His OPS has slipped to .884, the lowest it's been since April 13.
