Sat Sep 18 202109:46Michael Conforto Doubles, Drives In One In Mets Loss
New York Mets outfielder Michael Conforto went 1-for-3 with a double and RBI in the Mets 4-3 loss to the Phillies on Friday. Conforto is now hitting .321/.394/.357 with four RBI and three runs scored over his last seven games (28 at-bats). While it has been a disappointing season for Conforto overall, given his poor .227 average to go with just 12 homers and 49 RBI, he is showing signs of life at the plate suggesting a bounce-back in 2022. Managers in dynasty formats should continue to remain patient with Conforto and see how he performs at the start of the 2022 campaign to determine whether 2021 was simply a one-off, down season for the 28-year old.

Sat Sep 11 202109:57Michael Conforto Picks Up Two Hits On Friday
New York Mets outfielder Michael Conforto went 2-for-4 with two runs scored in the Mets 10-3 win over the Yankees on Friday evening. Conforto is hitting a respectable .308/.400/.462 with one home run and six RBI over his last seven games (26 at-bats). That said, it has been a lost season for the 28-year old, so-to-be free agent. Over 341 at-bats, Conforto has hit just .223/.343/.378 with 12 home runs and 45 RBI. If Conforto can keep up his recent hot hitting, he can be useful for the final few weeks of the 2021 campaign for those fantasy managers still in the hunt for a championship and in need of outfield help. Managers in dynasty formats should remain patient and wait to see how Conforto performs in the early part of 2022, to determine if 2021 was simply a down year. Depending on where he plays in 2022, be it New York or another team with a solid lineup, he could be a potential bounce-back candidate.

Wed Sep 1 202110:00Michael Conforto With Three RBI On Monday
New York Mets outfielder Michael Conforto went a combined 2-for-6 with a two-run home run, a walk, and three RBI in the Mets doubleheader sweep of the Miami Marlins on Monday. Conforto drove in the game-winner in Game 1 with an RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning giving the Mets a 6-5 walk-off win. In the nightcap, Conforto belted a two-run HR which proved to be the difference-maker in the Mets 3-1 win. Coming into Monday, Conforto had been just 2-for-19 (.105) over his prior eight games, so Monday's performance was a huge step in the right direction for the 28-year old who has struggled all season. Fantasy managers in redraft formats in need of outfield help may wish to take a flyer on Conforto in the event he can build off of Monday's clutch performance for the month of September.

Sun Aug 29 202111:19Michael Conforto Blasts Pinch-Hit Homer On Saturday
New York Mets outfielder Michael Conforto hit a clutch pinch-hit three-run home run in the Mets 5-3 win over the Nationals on Saturday. Conforto's home run in the bottom of the seventh inning was the difference maker as the Mets ended a four-game skid. Conforto had been hot earlier in August, but came into Saturday's contest just 1-for-13 over his last six games. Conforto was given the night off, but was eventually called on by manager Luis Rojas in the seventh inning and produced. Conforto has had a wretched season, batting just .218/.341/.365 with nine home runs and 33 RBI over 293 at-bats in 94 games. Expectations were high for Conforto coming into 2021, where he had posted a .322/.412/.927 line with a career-high .927 OPS, nine home runs, and 31 RBI in 202 at-bats in 2020. His metrics largely supported a repeat performance in 2021 with no signs of regression. Unfortunately, Conforto failed to live up to expectations. The talent, however, is there as we saw in 2019 and 2020. Fantasy managers in redraft formats in need of outfield help may wish to take a flyer on Conforto (if he has been dropped) in the event he can build off of Saturday's performance.

Thu Aug 26 202117:41Michael Conforto Not Starting On Thursday
New York Mets outfielder Michael Conforto isn't in Thursday's lineup for a matchup against the San Francisco Giants and left-handed starter Alex Wood. Conforto is batting .218 with a .340 on-base percentage and eight home runs in 344 plate appearances this season. He'll be replaced in right field by Kevin Pillar, who is batting seventh. You're probably better off looking elsewhere for streaming options on Thursday. Pillar is batting .207 with a .244 on-base percentage, 10 home runs, and a pair of stolen bases in 258 plate appearances for the Mets this season.

Thu Aug 19 202109:29Michael Conforto Doubles, Remains Hot
New York Mets outfielder Michael Conforto went 2-for-6 with a double and RBI in the Mets 12 inning 6-2 win over the Giants on Wednesday. Conforto has now reached base safely over his last 17 games and is slashing .304/.391/.518 with two home runs, six doubles, and six RBI over that timeframe. Conforto appears to finally be awakening from a season-long slumber. Fantasy managers may wish to reinsert Conforto into lineups while this streak lasts. If he has been dropped, fantasy managers in need of help in the outfield for the last six weeks of the 2021 campaign should take a flyer on Conforto hoping that he can continue hitting well. Of course, expectations for high RBI totals should be held in check based on the poor Mets offense.

Mon Aug 16 202110:00Michael Conforto With Two Hits In Mets Loss
New York Mets outfielder Michael Conforto went 2-for-4 with two runs scored, an RBI, and a walk in the Mets 14-4 loss to the Dodgers on Sunday. Conforto remains hot at the plate, now having slashed .409/.458/.636 with one home run and four RBI over his last seven games. Notwithstanding this latest hot streak, Conforto has had an abysmal 2021 campaign. Fantasy managers who have remained patient with Conforto may wish to reinsert him into lineups while this streak lasts. If he has been dropped in shallow redraft formats, fantasy managers may wish to take a flyer on Conforto for the last six-plus weeks of action in 2021.

Sun Aug 15 202111:03Michael Conforto Homers Against Dodgers On Saturday
New York Mets outfielder Michael Conforto went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in the Mets 2-1 loss to the Dodgers on Saturday. Conforto has, sneakily, been hot over his past seven games posting a .381/.409/.762 slash line with two home runs and four RBI over 21 at-bats. Despite the recent hot streak, Conforto has been a massive disappointment in 2021. He has posted a .216/.337/.365 slash line with just eight homers and 28 RBI over 81 games. Essentially, Conforto has really only had two decent stretches of hitting all season, both in August (including this present stretch), where he is batting .316 with four HR and six RBI. Fantasy managers who have remained patient with Conforto may wish to reinsert him into lineups now that his bat is hot, though expectations for production should remain tempered.

Fri Aug 13 202118:32Michael Conforto Out Of Friday's Lineup
New York Mets outfielder Michael Conforto isn't in the starting lineup on Friday for a matchup with the Los Angeles Dodgers and left-handed starter Julio Urias. Conforto is hitting .213 with a .337 on-base percentage and seven home runs in 297 plate appearances this season. Albert Almora Jr. is starting in right field in Conforto's place and batting eighth. You're probably better off looking elsewhere for streaming options on Friday. Almora Jr. is hitting .130 with a .149 on-base percentage in 47 plate appearances.

Sat Aug 7 202121:10Michael Conforto Homers On Saturday
New York Mets outfielder Michael Conforto went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in the Mets 5-3 loss to the Phillies on Saturday. Despite not starting against lefty Ranger Suarez, Conforto was called upon to replace Brandon Drury in right field once Suarez was removed from the game. Conforto has been a terrible disappointment in 2021 posting a .203./331/.342 slash line with just seven home runs and 25 RBI in 75 games. Despite the solo home run on Saturday, fantasy managers should keep Conforto sidelined until he shows consistent signs of production at the plate. Now approaching mid-August, but for a brief hot streak in mid-July, it is looking like a lost season for the 28-year-old.

Sat Aug 7 202115:48Michael Conforto Taking A Seat On Saturday
New York Mets outfielder Michael Conforto is not in the Mets starting lineup for their game against the Phillies on Saturday. Brandon Drury will be playing right field and batting fifth against Ranger Suarez. Manager Luis Rojas indicated that Conforto is available off of the bench. With Conforto, Dominic Smith, and Jeff McNeill all sitting against Suarez, the Mets are stacking their lineup with right-handed bats in an attempt to jump-start a putrid offense that has done little over the past few weeks. Overall, Conforto has been miserable in 2021 rancidly batting .201./331/.329 with just six home runs and 24 RBI in 74 games. In redraft formats, Conforto is borderline droppable at this point, particularly if he ends up losing playing time to Drury and/or Kevin Pillar. At the very least, Conforto should be on all fantasy benches until he shows consistent signs of production at the plate.

Thu Aug 5 202113:03Michael Conforto Showing Sides Of Improvement
New York Mets outfielder Michael Conforto had a solid game Wednesday night against the Miami Marlins, going 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored. Conforto has endured a nightmare season in a contract year, but he's now had two doubles and three hits in eight at-bats over his last three games. That qualifies as improvement for the lefty, who'd gone 0-for-13 the five games before. If things don't turn around soon, he may find himself platooning in right field, not to mention costing himself millions in free agency, but for now he should still be on fantasy benches.

Wed Aug 4 202114:31Michael Conforto In Midst Of 1-For-17 Slump
New York Mets outfielder Michael Conforto has been struggling at the plate over the last week. He's gone 1-for-17 with two walks and six strikeouts over his last seven games. It's been a rough year overall for Conforto, who is slashing .197/.326/.327 with six home runs, 24 RBI and 21 runs over 71 games. He has an xBA of .244 and an xSLG of .412. Neither of those marks are great, but they at least suggest that his ugly surface stats aren't nearly as high as they should be. His plate discipline has been as good as ever this year as he ranks in the 90th percentile in chase rate and in the 91st percentile in walk rate. Things will get better for him going forward. Fantasy managers should remain patient.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) — Aaron Judge went from being a late scratch to hitting a tiebreaking single in a two-run 10th inning to help the New York Yankees beat the Tampa Bay Rays for the second straight day, 3-1 on Wednesday night. Judge was taken out of the lineup about 30 minutes before the scheduled first pitch. Although no announcement was made about why, the All-Star right fielder struck out in the fifth pinch-hitting for Estevan Florial. Judge returned to the team Tuesday after going on the COVID-19 injured list July 16. New York also had a big night off the field. The Yankees reached a deal to get All-Star slugger Joey Gallo from the Texas Rangers, a person familiar with the trade told The Associated Press. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the move had not yet been announced and was subject to approval of medical records of the players involved. Wed Jul 28 202122:44Reyes nearly hits bicyclist with homer in Indians' win
CLEVELAND (AP) — Franmil Reyes homered twice, the first a second-inning blast that bounced out of Progressive Field and almost dinged a bicyclist pedaling on a street, and the Cleveland Indians beat the St. Louis Cardinals 7-2 on Wednesday. Reyes’ leadoff homer in the second glanced off the pedestrian bridge in left field and landed on the plaza area between the ballpark and Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse. The ball traveled an estimated 446 feet. Reyes wasn’t done. He finished off Cleveland’s three-homer inning in the third with his 19th of the season, a 421-foot drive to center. César Hernández and José Ramírez also homered in the inning for Cleveland. Kwang Hyun Kim (6-6) gave up all four homers and lost for the first time since June 20. Wed Jul 28 202108:58Michael Conforto Picks Up Two Hits On Tuesday
New York Mets outfielder Michael Conforto went 2-for-4 with a double in the Mets 12-5 loss to the Braves at home on Tuesday. After what was a horrible first half for the 28-year-old, Conforto had been red hot for a week following the All-Star break until he went 0-for-4 in a game against the Reds on July 20. Conforto had been 2-for-22 (.091) with no extra-base hits over his previous seven games prior to Tuesday's contest. Hopefully, Tuesday's performance will jump-start Conforto's bat once again. Fantasy managers who have benched Conforto over the last week may want to get ready to activate him if he begins to show some level of consistency at the plate. It's been an overall down season for Conforto. He still has time to salvage it for fantasy managers if he can get back into the groove we saw immediately following the All-Star break.

A look at what’s happening around the majors today: ___ WESTERN STARS Buster Posey and the surprising San Francisco Giants continue their pivotal four-game series against the rival Dodgers. The star catcher hit a two-run homer his first time up Monday night after missing two weeks with a bruised left thumb, and San Francisco won the opener 7-2 in Los Angeles after putting All-Star shortstop Brandon Crawford on the 10-day injured list due to an oblique strain. The Giants, in first place since May 31, lead the NL West by two games over the defending World Series champion Dodgers. Alex Wood (8-3, 3.67 ERA) pitches for San Francisco against his former team. The funky left-hander is 2-0 with a 2.25 ERA this month. ALL CLEAR Philadelphia Phillies right-hander Aaron Nola returns to the mound in New York against the Yankees after missing his last scheduled start because of COVID-19 contact tracing.
