LHP Luis Avilan was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday, three days after he was recalled from the same team. In four games for the Dodgers this season, he has allowed three runs in a total of one inning.

He's been solid for the Braves in middle relief so far, and Avilan now sports a 2.50 ERA and 12:4 K:BB ratio in 18 innings. Barring a major shakeup in the bullpen, however, the occasional vultured win is probably the extent of his fantasy value.

After a month in the minors, the Braves are hoping Avilan can regain the form he displayed over the last two seasons in Atlanta. A 4.85 ERA and 1.65 WHIP across 29.2 innings during the first half led to the 25-year-old lefty's demotion immediately following the All-Star break. His numbers have not been any better, in fact they have been worse, through nine appearances at the Triple-A level. However, his time was mostly spent adjusting his mechanics and being less concerned with actual results. Juan Jamie was optioned back to Gwinnett after Wednesday's game in order to clear a spot on the roster.

The Braves will likely call up Avilan on Thursday, MLB.com speculates.

If he were to get the call, Avilan would replace Juan Jaime in the bullpen, after Jaime was sent down following Wednesday's game.
