Avilan has a 5.68 ERA in 12.2 innings since coming to the Dodgers at the July trade deadline.
He does have 15 strikeouts during that time, but Avilan has minimal fantasy value in deep leagues that count holds, as otherwise, he's still looking for his first career save.
Thu Jul 30 201515:16The Braves traded Avilan to Dodgers on Thursday
The Braves traded Avilan to the Dodgers on Thursday, Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports reports.
Avilan was one of 13 players moved in the three-team trade, and he will now bolster a Dodgers bullpen that's in the thick of the playoff hunt. In 50 games with the Braves this season, the 26-year-old southpaw has posted a 3.58 ERA and 1.20 WHIP with 31 strikeouts over 37.2 innings. He probably won't see any save opportunities, but could be a candidate to receive some late-inning work.

Avilan picked up the win Saturday, working 1.2 shutout innings and allowing just one hit in an 11-inning victory over the Braves.
He's been solid for the Braves in middle relief so far, and Avilan now sports a 2.50 ERA and 12:4 K:BB ratio in 18 innings. Barring a major shakeup in the bullpen, however, the occasional vultured win is probably the extent of his fantasy value.

Avilan gave up a bunt single but recorded the final out of the seventh inning Wednesday to earn his second hold of the young season.
James Russell was released and Josh Outman went down with a shoulder injury, leaving Avilan to serve as the top lefty out of the Braves' bullpen to start the year. Avilan filled that role in 2013 and finished third in the NL in holds with 27, but struggled last season to a 4.57 ERA and 1.57 WHIP. His opponents' BABIP was up at .317 in 2014 (career .256), but his xFIP was just two points lower than his ERA.
Thu Aug 14 201409:38Avilan recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett
Avilan has been recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett, David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
After a month in the minors, the Braves are hoping Avilan can regain the form he displayed over the last two seasons in Atlanta. A 4.85 ERA and 1.65 WHIP across 29.2 innings during the first half led to the 25-year-old lefty's demotion immediately following the All-Star break. His numbers have not been any better, in fact they have been worse, through nine appearances at the Triple-A level. However, his time was mostly spent adjusting his mechanics and being less concerned with actual results. Juan Jamie was optioned back to Gwinnett after Wednesday's game in order to clear a spot on the roster.

The Braves will likely call up Avilan on Thursday, MLB.com speculates.
If he were to get the call, Avilan would replace Juan Jaime in the bullpen, after Jaime was sent down following Wednesday's game.

Mon Apr 14 201423:28Luis Avilan gives up five runs in win
Luis Avilan notched his third win in relief despite giving up five runs in the eighth Monday against the Phillies.
If you made Avilan a $1 pick in your NL-only league, be thankful for the wins, but drop him as soon as you can. He's just not the same guy who was so effective in a setup role last year.

Luis Avilan has been diagnosed with a left hamstring cramp.

Tue Apr 8 201421:35Avilan leaves with apparent injury
Luis Avilan left Tuesday's game against the Mets with an apparent injury.
Avilan tweaked something as he got out of the way of a broken bat. He limped off the field and was seen later limping in the clubhouse. The Braves losing the left-handed reliever would be a big blow to their bullpen.
