Corey Brock of MLB.com hears that Padres' prospect right-hander Nick Vincent sprained his left ankle Wednesday.
Vincent showed up to Padres' camp Thursday on crutches and wearing a walking boot. The Padres have yet to make any statement, but Brock writes that it "doesn't look good." Vincent, 25, was added to the Padres' 40-man roster in November after posting a 2.27 ERA and 89/20 K/BB ratio over 79 1/3 innings last season as a reliever with Double-A San Antonio.

Padres purchased the contract of RHP Nick Vincent from Double-A San Antonio.
He is now protected from December's Rule 5 Draft. Vincent, 25, has a 2.89 ERA over parts of four seasons in the minor leagues, averaging 9.2 K/9 and 2.7 BB/9. He could have a future in the Padres' bullpen.
