G Jeremy Lamb, acquired from Oklahoma City, was active for the Hornets on Friday night after missing the opener with a sprained ankle. .

Lamb dropped 12 points, three rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block in a win over the Clippers on Sunday.

Lamb is a very intriguing player coming into this season, as it's tough to gauge exactly what he's going to do. He has all the talent in the world to be an elite scorer, but he never found the role in OKC to be such. It's also unclear if he;ll be given that opportunity here, but the start in the preseason is a promising sign nonetheless. With the injury to Michael Kidd-Gilchrist recently, Lamb's value has risen exponentially over the past week.

Lamb was traded to the Hornets for Luke Ridnour and a 2016 second-round draft pick on Thursday, Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski reports.

Lamb vied for time in Oklahoma City's crowded backcourt last season. He played in 47 games, averaging 6.3 points in 14 minutes. In Charlotte, Lamb and P.J. Hairston will likely compete for shooting guard minutes going forward, especially with Lance Stephenson and Gerald Henderson gone. It's worth noting that Lamb played with Hornets star Kemba Walker on Connecticut's 2011 national championship team.

Lamb featured in just 47 games this season, averaging 6.3 points and 2.3 rebounds in 13.5 minutes per game for the Thunder.

Lamb fell out of Oklahoma City's rotation this season, causing his numbers to regress across the board. The 2012 lottery pick's inconsistent play makes him hard for fantasy owners to roster in most league formats. At 22 years old, Lamb still has plenty of room to grow, but it remains to be seen whether new Thunder coach Billy Donovan can help revitalize his career.

Lamb did not enter Saturday's game, receiving a DNP-coach's decision.

Lamb has continued to stay on the bench, averaging a measly five minutes per game in February. With D.J Augustin and Kyle Singler coming to the Thunder during the NBA trade deadline, Lamb will likely remain buried on the depth chart behind Augustin, Singler, Perry Jones, Andre Roberson, Dion Waiters and Anthony Morrow. A once promising talent, Lamb has failed to live up to expectations as a lottery pick from the 2012 draft.

Lamb's role has greatly diminished this month, averaging just 3.5 minutes per game in January after averaging 15.1 in December. He seems to only be seeing the floor when the outcome of the game has already been decided, as all of his January appearances have come in blowouts.

Lamb (foot) returned to action Tuesday after a one-game absence, putting up six points (3-9 FG, 0-3 3Pt) and three rebounds in 15 minutes off the bench.

Over the Thunder's last five games, Lamb has averaged 5.8 points in 17 minutes per game. As long as Kevin Durant and several other players are healthy, Lamb is unlikely to have anything more than deep league value.

He was held out of Sunday's game with a sore foot, but should be available for his typical 12-20 minutes off the bench Tuesday.

Lamb scored 21 points (7-8 FG, 3-3 3P, 4-5 FT) with four rebounds, three steals, two assists and a block in 24 minutes off the bench before fouling out of Wednesday's game.

He failed to even make a field goal in the Thunder's last game on Sunday, so don't take Wednesday's near-perfect performance from the floor as a sign of things to come for Lamb. Kevin Durant is practicing as well, and once KD gets back on the court Lamb's role and minutes will take a hit. Despite Wednesday's numbers, Lamb owners in shallower leagues may want to see if they can put his roster spot to better use.

Lamb will come off the bench Friday against the Nets, the Oklahoman reports.

Lamb will be replaced by Andre Roberson who has finally returned from a foot injury that costed him nearly two weeks. Lamb was averaging 12.5 points and 5.1 rebounds on the season, but that output may decrease with the designation to a bench role. We'll see following Friday's game how much time Lamb still receives.

Lamb scored 19 points (5-15 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 6-6 FT), with four rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal in 36 minutes during Tuesday's loss to the Jazz.

Lamb has been hit or miss during his time in the starting lineup for the Thunder. With that said, he'll be logging plenty of minutes moving forward with Russell Westbrook (hand), Kevin Durant (foot) and Perry Jones (knee) all out for the time being. Expect Lamb to contribute in many ways moving forward over the next few games, making him an intriguing fantasy option.

Lamb had a tough time finding his shooting touch on Tuesday, making only two shots from the field with no three-pointers. However, he did find other ways to contribute, despite his lack of scoring. Given how short-handed the Thunder are at the moment, look for the team to continue to lean heavily on the guard, until more of his teammates are available to help shoulder the load.

Lamb followed up his debut with a 34 minute appearance to help his team beat the Kings. Lamb finished Sunday's game with 17 points (5-13 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 5-6 FT), nine rebounds, and four assists.

Lamb is going to see plenty of run to start off his season, especially with all the injuries Oklahoma City faces. On top of this he seems to have the green light to shoot from his coaching staff, meaning the trigger happy player we saw in the preseason is likely to open the season playing his style of basketball. This looking for scoring, threes and a promise for something more should take a flyer on Lamb, even in shallow leagues.

Lamb made his first start of the season after dealing with a back injury, scoring 17 points (8-15 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 0-1 FT) in 41 minutes.

Lamb and Reggie Jackson both played 41 minutes in a loss. With Russell Westbrook out, Lamb will likely start at shooting guard on a regular basis. In addition to his good shooting night, Lamb had three rebounds, a block and only one turnover. He's a good play in almost all formats with Westbrook out.

Lamb (back) will play and start Friday against the Grizzlies.

Lamb will be making his season debut Friday in the start at shooting guard. Oklahoma City is depleted across the board, but it's still unclear if Lamb will be able to handle a 40-plus minute workload.

Lamb has been doing some individual court work and is progressing, Oklahoman's Anthony Slater reports.

Lamb expects to return to the rotation as early as the end of this week. The Thunder play Memphis on Friday, but it's more reasonable to expect him to appear in Sunday's game against Sacramento. His presence will certainly be welcomed as Andre Roberson (foot) continues to miss time. Lamb is best left for keeper leagues only until further notice.
