Wed Feb 12 201413:29Hollison Thompson out Wed. w/ ankle injury
76ers F Hollis Thompson will not play on Wednesday due to an ankle injury.
This makes two straight DNPs for Thompson, who shouldn't even be owned in deep leagues. Anything may happen with the Sixers' lineup in the coming week, but even if a trade thrusts Thompson into the starting lineup he's a questionable value for fantasy owners -- in 18 starts this season he averaged 6.9 points, 0.8 threes, 4.3 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 0.7 steals in 28 minutes per game.

Fri Jan 24 201421:47Hollis Thompson scores 15 points off bench
Hollis Thompson had one of the better games of his career on Friday with 15 points, nine boards, and two 3-pointers in 24 minutes against the Raptors.
He shot 6-of-7 from the field, set a career high in rebounds and scored his third-highest point total. Thompson's minutes have increased a bit lately with Tony Wroten (ankle) out of the lineup, but he's still only on the radar in very deep leagues.

Mon Jan 20 201419:47Hollis Thompson gets some playing time
Hollis Thompson picked up some major playing time on Monday with 37 minutes against the Wizards, finishing with 13 points, three boards and two 3-pointers.
James Anderson was in foul trouble and Tony Wroten (ankle) did not play. Thompson won't see this much playing time and fantasy owners shouldn't think about adding him based on this game. If Anderson did not get into foul trouble, Thompson's minutes would have likely been in the mid-20s. In other words, he's only on the radar in deep leagues.

Fri Jan 10 201421:40Hollis Thompson plays 10 minutes off bench
Hollis Thompson played 10 minutes off the bench against the Pistons on Friday, failing to score with two boards, one assist and one steal.
The Sixers gave him a serious chance in the starting lineup with 18 starts on the season, but Thompson wasn't very impressive in his stint. He's never really shown the ability he can be a reliable scorer and his chance to show what he can do might be over.

Mon Jan 6 201421:40Hollis Thompson scores nine points vs. MIN
Hollis Thompson scored nine points in 33 minutes against the Timberwolves on Monday to go with four boards and one steal in 33 minutes.
His minutes decreased before tonight's game with just 20.3 per game over his last three, averaging 5.3 points, 2.0 boards, 0.0 assists, 0.7 steals, 0.7 blocks and 0.7 triples, but the team needed him to get some extra run tonight with Tony Wroten (illness) out. There's little reason to pick him up unless it's for a spot-start against the Cavs on Tuesday. Wroten should be considered questionable.

Sun Dec 29 201302:09Hollis Thompson struggling in starting five
Hollis Thompson made yet another start for the Sixers on Saturday, this time at small forward, but had just four points, six rebounds and four assists on 2-of-8 shooting.
After scoring 17 points two Saturdays ago, Thompson has scored just 4, 3, 7 and 7 points in each of his last four games. He's the starting two guard for the Sixers, but still hasn't proven to have much fantasy value.

Mon Dec 16 201323:33Thompson hits just 2-of-10 shots in loss
Hollis Thompson hit just 2-of-10 shots in the Sixers' 36-point loss to the Nets on Monday, finishing with seven points, three rebounds, one steal and one 3-point bucket in 30 minutes.
Though the Sixers should find themselves in plenty of lopsided games, this one was on the extreme side of things as the biggest margin of defeat in the teams' head-to-head history. Thompson hasn't done much to inspire confidence lately, but he still has a small amount of stash appeal playing in the Sixers' fantasy-friendly system.

Sun Dec 15 201301:40Hollis Thompson bounces back on Saturday
Hollis Thompson bounced back from a pair of very slow outings in the Sixers' 139-105 home loss to the Blazers, scoring 17 points on 6-of-9 shooting (including two threes) with three rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block in 36 minutes.
Thompson showed his upside playing in the Sixers' fantasy friendly system, but he had not scored in double-digits for three games entering tonight and in two of those games he played less than 25 minutes per contest. Consistency is probably going to be an issue for him, but owners could do worse in a stash considering he has three-quarters of a season to get things figured out for a tanking Philly squad.

Mon Dec 9 201323:17Hollis Thompson logs 39 minutes vs. LAC
Hollis Thompson logged a career-high 39 minutes during Monday's 94-83 loss to the Clippers, scoring eight points with five boards, one assist, three steals and one 3-pointer.
While he did shoot 1-of-7 from the field in the loss, Thompson had a career high three steals and wasn't to bad on perimeter defense. The poor shooting shouldn't be too discouraging due to how he shot 61.5 percent from the field in his previous four games. Thompson seems to have the starting shooting guard locked down, so he's worth a look in deep leagues.

Sat Dec 7 201321:46Hollis Thompson solid in another start at SF
76ers rookie Hollis Thompson chipped in 10 points, two 3-pointers, nine rebounds and three assists in a 103-92 loss to the visiting Nuggets.
Thompson has an ideal situation in a Sixers' rotation that also offers significant roles for guys like James Anderson, Brandon Davies and Lorenzo Brown. Fantasy owners should be intrigued by Thompson's 3-point range, if nothing else, and in four starts this season he's averaging 9.5 points, 1.5 triples and 6.5 rebounds.

Fri Dec 6 201322:48Hollis Thompson keeps playing well as starter
Hollis Thompson shot 5-of-7 from the field for 12 points with six boards and two 3-pointers in 32 minutes against the Bobcats on Friday.
He has been very efficient as a starter and is shooting 66.7 percent on his six shots per game in three outings. Thompson didn't put up great numbers at Georgetown and only had 5.7 points per game in the D-League last year, but coach Brett Brown seems to like him. He's on the radar in deeper leagues with plenty of opportunity on a shallow roster.

Tue Dec 3 201323:00Hollis Thompson starts again, scores 10
Hollis Thompson scored 10 points against the Magic on Tuesday with five boards, one assists and two 3-pointers on 33 minutes.
He scored eight points in the first six minutes of the game and cooled off the rest of the way. Thompson has started two games in a row and he should remain with the first unit while James Anderson comes off the bench. The rookie isn't the most talented player in this year's class, but his 3-point attempts and big opportunity on a talent-deficient roster make him a sneaky pickup in deeper leagues with some room for upside.

Mon Dec 2 201314:10Hollis Thompson to start again for 76ers
Brett Brown plans to keep Hollis Thompson in the 76ers starting lineup because of his length defensively, but the arrangement is subject to change.
Brown also likes that Thompson doesn't require touches offensively. As we previously noted, Brown said, "You try to get [someone] that doesn't require plays called for them and be a defensive-type of player ... like Bruce Bowen was. That is what we tried to sell and cultivate with Hollis." James Anderson, who wasn't providing reliable fantasy value as a starter, will come off the bench a while longer.

Mon Dec 2 201310:29Hollis Thompson starts for defensive energy
Brett Brown said that he started Hollis Thompson over James Anderson for defensive purposes on Sunday, but the move is not permanent.
"I tried to sell Hollis on a defensive role," Brown said. "All five of those guys that start rightfully demand some shots and demand the ball. You try to get something that doesn't require plays called for them and be a defensive-type of player ... like Bruce Bowen was. That is what we tried to sell and cultivate with Hollis." The fact that he's using the past tense "tried" seems telling, and it wouldn't be surprising if Anderson is back with the starters vs. Orlando on Tuesday.

Sun Dec 1 201318:44Hollis Thompson scores six points in 28 mins.
Hollis Thompson got his first NBA start on Sunday against the Pistons, scoring six points with six boards, three assists and one turnover in 28 minutes.
It wasn't his best game and he did have some silly fouls. Thompson adds some nice size on the wing at 6'7" and he has range, attempting 1.4 shots per game in just 15 minutes per night. He is not a superior talent or anything, but the Sixers starting to falter means they could start a youth movement and go with the 22-year-old forward more often. Owners in 16-teams can give him a look.

Sun Dec 1 201314:36Hollis Thompson will start, Anderson benched?
Hollis Thompson will start on Sunday against the Pistons.
James Anderson will come off the bench. There is a chance this move sticks since Thompson really played well while Spencer Hawes and Thaddeus Young missed time last week. He had a 16-point, seven-board game on Nov. 22 and he has some range to help spread the defense. He's worth a look in for any owner seeking a high-upside rookie. He's not quite worth owning in standard leagues, though. James Anderson owners might want to think about cutting him.

Sat Nov 23 201300:32Thompson emerging in Sixers' faceless group
Hollis Thompson scored 16 points off the bench in Friday's overtime win, hitting 7-of-9 shots (including a three) with seven rebounds and one assist in 21 minutes.
Thompson did not have a steal or block and saw this much run because Thaddeus Young (personal) was out, but it's worth pointing out that he has jumped ahead of his teammates as the next man up in the frontcourt. In the Sixers' jackpot offense, that could be worth something down the road as injuries strike so keep at least one eye on him going forward.

Wed Oct 31 201210:29Hollis Thompson, Andy Rautins go to D-League
Hollis Thompson and Andy Rautins signed with the Tulsa 66ers.
It's the Oklahoma City Thunder's D-League team, and neither player was claimed off waivers after OKC cut both before the season began. They'll accrue minutes in the D-League and hope for a call-up at some point.

Wed Oct 24 201223:33Hollis Thompson returns from groin injury
Hollis Thompson (groin) was held scoreless and had one rebound in three minutes of action Wednesday.
Thompson has been dealing with the injury since last season and is fighting just to make the Thunder roster. The former Georgetown product holds zero value for fantasy owners.
