Fri Nov 4 202215:40Rudy Gobert Questionable For Friday Night
Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert (illness) has been listed as questionable for the team's game against the Milwaukee Bucks. He, along with Anthony Edwards, is suffering from a non-COVID illness. The big man from France has yet to miss any time this season. If he doesn't suit up for the team, Karl Anthony-Towns would be shifted back to center where has thrived before. Also, Jaden McDaniels and Naz Reid would be worth a look since they'll most likely see some added minutes.

Sat Oct 29 202207:09Rudy Gobert Has 20-20 Vision Against Lakers
Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert recorded his first 20-20 game of the campaign as the team piled further misery on the Lakers with a 111-102 win. He scored 22 points with 7-for-11 shooting from the field and an 8-for-12 effort from the charity stripe and grabbed 21 rebounds. The French giant now boasts 16 career games with at least 21 rebounds. He finished a good night of work with two assists, one steal, two blocks and one turnover in 37 minutes. Gobert has settled in nicely at his new club, averaging 15 points with 15 rebounds and two blocks. The next matchup could be tricky, though, as the T-Wolves face San Antonio for the third time this week on Sunday and Gobert was quiet in the first two meetings, bagging only 21 points and 16 rebounds in total.

Wed Oct 12 202220:51Karl-Anthony Towns, Rudy Gobert Sitting Versus Lakers
Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns and Rudy Gobert will both rest during Wednesday's preseason game against the Los Angeles Lakers. It's not shocking that the Wolves will rest their two big men in this meaningless game. The team will also hold out Jaden McDaniels, Taurean Prince, PJ Dozier and Eric Paschall during Wednesday's contest. Towns is coming off a serious illness, but looked solid over the weekend. It appears to be safe to draft him with this illness behind him now.

Mon Oct 3 202208:30NBA Draft: UDFAs Who Won't Waste Time
It's funny that every year at the NBA Draft, once the end of the guaranteed money and live appearances arrives at the end of the first round, everybody tunes out and refers to the 60th pick as "Mr. Irrelevant." That's not very accurate though, is it? Speaking historically, the title of "Mr. Irrelevant" could just as easily be applied to each pick in the draft, as organizations differ greatly in their evaluation of talent and their own needs, particularly in a year without the NCAA tournament. The nickname just doesn't reflect how basketball works anymore. Executives strategically stockpile second-round draft picks for the less burdensome financial obligations, and organizations in rebuilding mode get super creative to field a respectable team on a budget.Particularly in the NBA where worldwide talent is plentiful and positional lines continue to fade, opportunity is everything: in the right situation, the right under-the-radar player can make an immediate, poignant statement. With professional development leagues for 16-18-year-olds, an ever-expanding set of domestic/international opportunities due to the sheer growth of basketball, and widespread NIL rights for college athletes, players of all levels and localities are starting to get their due exposure and now have enough freedom to hone their skills in a place, and at a pace that fits best with their path to the NBA.Plus, I am inherently skeptical and distrusting of scouting from the high school level to pre-Draft. That's why in this annual article, I tend to favor overlooked college players (love the mid-majors/non-power conferences) with either well-rounded, polished games, or specific statistical specialties. We are going to discuss a handful of 2022 second-round picks and undrafted free agent (UDFA) signees who, given their individual skillsets and circumstances, warrant the attention of Fantasy Basketball Managers as potential high-impact rookies for the 2022-23 campaign who can quietly be acquired on clearance once they start showing signs of emergence.... Fri Aug 5 202213:03D'Angelo Russell Embraces Rudy Gobert, Karl-Anthony Towns Duo
The Minnesota Timberwolves made a sizable splash this offseason when acquiring four-time All-NBA performer Rudy Gobert in a blockbuster deal with the Jazz, giving the team a formidable frontcourt alongside Karl-Anthony Towns. Point guard D'Angelo Russell sees the duo fitting well together, citing past experiences where both acclimated their play. After winning 46 games and making the postseason last year, Minnesota is seeking to go further in 2022-23, bolstered by its revamped group of talent. "It's exciting -- it's like the first day of school," Russell said in an interview with Dane Moore, who covers T-Wolves hoops.

Fri Jul 1 202216:07Rudy Gobert Traded To Minnesota
Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert is being sent to the Minnesota Timberwolves in a massive trade. The three-time Defensive Player of the Year was traded for four first round draft picks. Also, the Jazz acquire Malik Beasley, Patrick Beverley, Walker Kessler, Jarred Vanderbilt, and Leandro Bolmaro as part of the deal. Somehow, the Wolves were able to pull off this trade without giving up Karl-Anthony Towns, Anthony Edwards or D'Angelo Russell. Clearly, Minnesota believes Towns will be fine switching over to the power forward spot. This is a huge win for the Wolves who showed their upside as a team last season. From a fantasy perspective, Gobert is going to take away rebounds from Towns. However, Towns is likely to shoot more with the shift over to the power forward spot. The addition of Gobert shouldn't hurt Towns too much, so fantasy managers shouldn't panic. The hope is that all of them mix well together and they compete for a championship next season.

Tue Jun 14 202221:25Jazz Looking For A Star In Return For Rudy Gobert
Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert is likely to be traded ahead of the 2021-22 campaign. Rumors have been running wild since Utah was bounced from the postseason by the Dallas Mavericks. Donovan Mitchell, who has had a rocky relationship with Gobert, is also reportedly unhappy. As a result, the team is looking to bring in a star in exchange for the multi-time Defensive Player of the Year. The 29-year-old averaged 15.6 points, 14.7 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks last season. He certainly has plenty to offer any organization, so he should remain a top option at the position for fantasy managers moving ahead.

Mon Jun 6 202222:17Bulls Reportedly Interested In Rudy Gobert
Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert has been rumored to be on the move for months. However, speculation increased even more after the Jazz lost to the Mavericks during the playoffs and with the resignation of former head coach Quin Snyder. The Bulls are reportedly interested in acquiring the big man's services, mainly as an upgrade on the defensive end. A potential deal would probably include Nikola Vucevic, who has one year left on his current contract. Nonetheless, Gobert is expected to remain a serviceable fantasy option for blocks and rebounds if he ends up in Chicago. Yet, while he has never been the most efficient scoring scorer, his production could decline even more in that area playing alongside DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine, assuming he stays in the Windy City.

Mon May 2 202223:20Rudy Gobert Could Be On The Way Out Of Utah
Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert may be on a new team next season. With more tension seemingly growing between the multi-time Defensive Player of the Year and Donovan Mitchell, the organization may hit the reset button during the offseason in an attempt to keep its superstar happy. Gobert, who has four years left on a five-year, $205 million contract, averaged 15.6 points, 14.7 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks during the 2021-22 season. Nonetheless, both Gobert and the Jazz will wait until after the annual exit interview before deciding how to move forward. However, one thing is certain, Gobert will remain a sought-after fantasy commodity, regardless of where he's playing.

Fri Apr 1 202210:04Rudy Gobert Racks Up 25 Points, 17 Boards Against Lakers
Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert helped the team break a five-game losing streak on Thursday as the Jazz defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 122-109. Gobert had a massive double-double in the game, racking up 25 points and 17 rebounds while shooting 9-for-11 from the field and 7-for-9 from the free throw line. He also added two blocks and one steal. The French Rejection leads the league in rebounding, averaging 14.6 per game. He's also shooting a career-high 71.2% from the field. His next trip to the court will be on Saturday against the Golden State Warriors.

Mon Mar 28 202220:11Rudy Gobert, Bojan Bogdanovic Questionable For Tuesday’s Game
Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert (leg) and small forward Bojan Bogdanovic (calf) have been listed as questionable to suit up for Tuesday's contest vs. the Clippers. Gobert missed Sunday's outing with a lower right leg contusion, while Bogdanovic has missed the past eight outings with a strained left calf. With Hassan Whiteside (foot) already ruled out in the frontcourt, Juancho Hernangomez would be in line for another start if Gobert is ultimately held out, making the 26-year-old a potential DFS target. Bogdanovic's absence has paved the way for elevated offensive roles for Jordan Clarkson, Royce O'Neale, Eric Paschall, and others. Check back prior to tip-off for the final word on who the Jazz will have at their disposal.

Mon Mar 14 202221:20Rudy Gobert Gets The Green Light On Monday
Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert (foot) will be active for Monday's game against the Milwaukee Bucks. Gobert missed the team's most recent game on Saturday due to a left foot strain, but he'll be playing through the injury on Monday. Hassan Whiteside started in his place on Saturday and went off over 35 minutes with 12 points, 21 boards and three blocks. Whiteside will be back to about 15 minutes in Monday's game, unless Gobert struggles to stay on the court. The French Rejection is averaging 15.4 points and an NBA-leading 14.7 rebounds per game this year. Make sure to get him in your lineup for Monday.

Mon Mar 7 202214:57Rudy Gobert Uncertain For Monday
Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert (calf) is listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Dallas Mavericks. He missed nine games earlier in the season due to a left calf strain. Now, the big man could be looking at another absence due to calf soreness. It's the second game of a back-to-back set, so it wouldn't be shocking to see the Jazz rest Gobert. Hassan Whiteside would likely be asked to make the start. He has been below average off the bench, but plays much better with the starting unit. Whiteside is a possible streaming option, assuming Gobert sits this one out.

Mon Feb 14 202220:07Rudy Gobert Returns For Monday’s Game
Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert (calf) has been given the green light to get back into action for Monday's contest against the Rockets. Gobert had missed the Jazz's previous nine outings due to a left calf strain, with his return zapping Hassan Whiteside of his DFS and short-term season-long appeal. Entering the night as both the league's leading rebounder (15.1 per game) and shot percentage leader (70.7%), Gobert's return comes in a significantly advantageous spot vs. Houston, who is yielding the most DFS points per game to opposing centers this season. His stock will be difficult to ascertain as he is likely facing something of a minutes cap due to his nearly month-long layoff.

Mon Feb 14 202214:46Rudy Gobert Questionable Against Rockets
Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert (calf) is listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Houston Rockets. He was able to practice on Sunday, so hopefully he can be activated on Monday. Udoka Azubuike and Hassan Whiteside will split up the playing time, assuming Gobert is unable to play. Whiteside is the better fantasy option between the two. It's unlikely that Azubuike has much of a role in the rotation once Gobert returns. Fantasy managers will have to check back on later on Monday for another update on Gobert.

Fri Feb 11 202221:10Rudy Gobert Ruled Out Versus Magic
Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert (calf) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Orlando Magic. He'll miss his ninth game in a row due to a left calf strain. There's a good chance that fantasy managers won't see Gobert again until after the All-Star break. Until then, Hassan Whiteside should continue drawing starts at center. He has been hot lately and is worth streaming or using as a DFS option for Friday's slate.

Thu Feb 10 202219:48Rudy Gobert Earns Questionable Tag For Friday
Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert (calf) has been deemed questionable to suit up for Friday's game vs. Orlando as he works his way back from a strained left calf. The league's leading rebounder has missed each of Utah's past eight games, paving the way for Hassan Whiteside to claim elevated DFS appeal and short-term season-long viability. Prior to going down with the injury, Gobert had reeled off a double-double in 18 of his last 19 appearances, shooting a whopping 68.5 percent overall in that span. His previous meeting with the Magic back on Nov. 7 saw him log 21 points, 15 boards, and four blocks, elevating his appeal if he is ultimately cleared.

Sun Feb 6 202221:14Rudy Gobert Ruled Out On Monday
Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert (calf) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the New York Knicks. He has missed each of the last six games, but the Jazz are hopeful to get Gobert back before the All-Star break. In the meantime, Hassan Whiteside should continue to start and have short term streaming appeal. Udoka Azubuike should get more minutes as well, but Whiteside is the better fantasy option.

Sun Feb 6 202214:47Rudy Gobert Returns To Practice
Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert (calf) returned to practice on Sunday, albeit in a limited capacity. However, it's still good news, primarily since it appears as if the 29-year-old is nearing a return after being sidelined by a left calf strain. Gobert has missed six games already, but there is a chance he could be back in the mix ahead of the All-Star Break. In the meantime, Hassan Whiteside and Udoka Azubuike should continue to split time in the middle. Whiteside's fantasy ceiling is considerably higher, although Azubuike still has value in deeper formats.

Fri Feb 4 202218:15Rudy Gobert Remains Out On Friday
Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert (calf) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Brooklyn Nets. The good new is, star guard Donovan Mitchell cleared concussion protocol and is available to play. Sadly, Gobert remains sidelined and his backup Hassan Whiteside (back) is listed as questionable. Udoka Azubuike is expected to draw another start at center, assuming Whiteside sits out. He has some deep league value, but it's difficult to trust him outside of that. Rudy Gay (knee) and Eric Paschall would likely be asked to play more as well. However, neither are expected to play enough to warrant streaming in most formats.
