Carter averaged 5.8 points (33.3 FG, 29.7 3Pt, 78.9 FT), 2.0 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.2 blocks in 17 minutes per game during 66 regular season games in 2014-15.

Carter began the regular season at less than 100 percent following offseason ankle surgery and suffered a torn tendon in late January on his way to career lows in minutes, shot attempts per game, field goal percentage, rebounds per game and assists per game. The 38-year-old veteran is on the Grizzlies' books for $4.1 million in 2015-16.

Carter recorded two points (1-5 FG, 0-3 3Pt), two rebounds and one assist in 14 minutes during the Grizzlies' 100-86 win versus the Blazers on Sunday.
Courtney Lee, Jeff Green and Tony Allen (hamstring) are all ahead of Carter on the depth chart in terms of wing options. It will likely take injuries or foul trouble for Carter to see a heavier load of minutes going forward.

Carter started Sunday's loss to the Spurs with Tony Allen (hamstring) out, but was held to five points (1-3 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds and a steal in 23 minutes.

Carter scored 14 points (4-8 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), grabbed three rebounds, and dished out one assist in 19 minutes Tuesday against the Pistons.
Carter also picked up a technical foul. The Grizzlies will continue to limit his minutes heading into the playoffs, so outbursts like this shouldn't be considered the norm.

Carter (foot) returned Friday after missing 13 games, but was held scoreless (0-3 FG, 0-3 3Pt) in six minutes.
Although Carter is back, he's not worth using in almost any league. He's averaging career lows in minutes, field-goal percentage, points, rebounds and assists this season.
Fri Mar 6 201519:42Carter (foot) will be active for Friday's game against Lakers
Carter (foot) will be active for Friday's game against the Lakers, Chris Vernon of ESPN reports.
Carter missed the entire month of February with this foot injury but may end up making his long-awaited comeback Friday. Although, just because he's active doesn't necessarily mean that he'll take the court. Even so, expect him to see limited minutes off the bench so he can get back into the swing of things upon his eventual return to action.

Carter (foot) is inactive for Wednesday's game, Sports 56 WHBQ's Rob Fischer reports.
Carter is dealing with a left foot tendon injury and will miss yet another game Wednesday. The fact that he was questionable to play suggests that he is making a bit of progress, and could return later this week.

Carter (foot) is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Rockets, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.
A foot tendon injury kept Carter out of Tuesday's game, and it's possible he could be headed for another absence. Even if he is held out, he appears to be close to returning since originally suffering the injury back in late-January.

Carter (foot) has been deemed questionable for Tuesday's showdown versus the Jazz, Grizzlies' sideline reporter Rob Fischer reports.
After a month of rehabbing Carter appears to be closing in on his return. Still, since he is behind Courtney Lee, Jeff Green and Tony Allen on the depth chart he is unlikely to be much of a factor in fantasy.
Mon Feb 9 201512:29Carter (foot) re-evaluated and will continue rehab regimen
Carter (foot) was re-evaluated and will continue his rehab regimen, with further updates being provided after the All-Star break, Grizzlies' sideline reporter Rob Fischer reports.
It was already a given that the Grizzlies wouldn't rush Carter back, but this is at least confirmation that his tendon is starting to heal. Still, even when he's able to return, Carter isn't able to earn enough minutes behind Courtney Lee, Jeff Green and Tony Allen to make an impact in fantasy.
Sun Feb 1 201509:05Vince Carter: (Foot) Says He Tore A Tendon In Foot
Carter has a tear in a tendon in his left foot, but will wear a boot for stabilization and begin rehab right away, Grizzlies' sideline reporter Rob Fischer reports.
Carter has opted to forgo the surgery, as the required recovery time post-surgery might have cost him the remainder of the NBA season and playoffs. He was already a fringe fantasy option at best, as he's averaging an abysmal 6.0 points (33.4 FG, 27.3 3Pt, 76.9 FT), 1.9 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.2 blocks in 17 minutes per game. At this stage in his career, he certainly won't be rushed back until he is 100 percent healthy, and that might not be quite for a while.
Fri Jan 30 201519:05Vince Carter: (Foot) Out For One Week
Carter is dealing with a left foot tendon injury and won't be reevaluated for another week, The Commercial Appeal reports.
Carter should be considered out for the time being with his earliest return date for Feb. 6 against the Timberwolves. In his absence, Tony Allen may be in line to see extended minutes off the bench over the next week.

Carter (foot) played just seven minutes Thursday and scored four points (1-4 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and grabbed two rebounds.
Carter left Tuesday's game early with the injury, but didn't have much reason to play Thursday since the Grizzlies blew out the Nuggets and the game was over after the first half. When he's healthy, Carter doesn't get enough consistent playing time to be a fantasy option. He did have a three-game stretch when he had 22 or more minutes, but he's also played single-digit minutes in four of his past eight games.
