Thu Jan 29 201520:59Vince Carter: Leaves With Foot Injury
Carter exited Thursday's game in the second quarter with a left foot/ankle injury, Grizzlies' sideline reporter Pete Pranica reports.
Carter didn't really have any contact causing the injury, but was helped off the floor. He did put pressure on the foot as he walked down the hallway to the locker room, which likely eliminates the dreaded Achilles' tear. The team should provide an update on his status at some point in the near future.

Carter played 27 minutes in Tuesday's win over the Mavericks, finishing with 12 points (3-10 FG, 1-7 3Pt, 5-5 FT), three rebounds and two assists.
Carter is only averaging 16.8 minutes so far this season, but with both Mike Conley and Tony Allen sitting out, he's gotten extended time recently. While he's reached double figures in points during two out of his last three games, he's shot a combined 11-for-30 from the field, so he hasn't had the best percentage lately. Those in deeper leagues can keep an eye on him for the moment, but once Conley and Allen return, he'll go back to having minimal fantasy value.

Carter recorded zero points (0-0 FG, 0-0 FT) and one rebound in seven minutes during the Grizzlies' 106-96 win versus the Magic on Friday.
Carter hasn't scored a point since Jeff Green made his debut on Wednesday, and after going 0-4 from the field (0-3 3Pt) with two assists and two steals in 14 minutes versus the Nets, Carter saw only seven minutes despite Mike Conley being out with sore ankles versus the Magic on Friday. Having played at least 12 minutes in every game since December 12 versus the Hornets, during which he played only seven minutes, the Grizzlies' substitution of Green for Quincy Pondexter and Tayshaun Prince appears to have negatively affected Carter's already minimal value in fantasy.

Carter contributed 18 points (6-13 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 1-2 FT), three rebounds, three assists and three steals in 41 minutes during the Grizzlies' 117-116 3OT win versus the Spurs on Wednesday.
Carter has posted his two best performances of the season in consecutive nights now after scoring 16 points (5-12 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT) to go along with four rebounds and one assist in 24 minutes on Tuesday versus the Warriors. It appears as if his ankle troubles are behind him, and if Carter can continue to knock down outside shots like this he could work himself into a more consistent role going forward. Still, the Grizzlies have plenty of depth on the wing, and once Tony Allen (eye) makes his return it's unlikely coach Dave Joerger leans so heavily on Carter, a 37-year-old veteran whom the Grizzlies will need to be healthy come playoff time.

Carter scored just two points (1-10 FG, 0-6 3Pt) with four rebounds and three assists in 19 minutes in the win over Detroit on Saturday.
Carter was coming off an 11-point effort in which he hit three 3-pointers. His success did not last beyond one game and the 16-year veteran will likely continue to see limited minutes off the Memphis bench.
Fri Nov 14 201418:09Carter (ankle) finally healing up from offseason ankle surgery
Carter (ankle) is finally healing up from his offseason ankle surgery, Chris Faulkner reports.
Carter is coming off of his best game of the season on Thursday versus the Kings, during which he contributed 11 points (4-5 FG, 3-4 3Pt), four rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block in 17 minutes of action. Carter's alley-oop inbound pass to Courtney Lee sealed the win for the Grizzlies at the buzzer, and they now own the best record in the NBA at 8-1. Carter is off to a slow start this season, averaging 6.8 points (41.7 FG, 38.5 3Pt, 66.7 FT), 2.1 rebounds, 1.0 assist, 0.5 steals and 0.1 blocks in 16 minutes per game, but as he continues to get back to full strength he could earn a few more minutes. Still, Courtney Lee and Tony Allen are firmly entrenched as the starters on the wing, and Carter is likely only worth a look in deeper leagues unless he starts to see a significant uptick in playing time.

Carter is averaging 6.2 points, 1.8 rebounds, 0.5 assists, and 0.3 steals on 14.3 minutes per game this season.
Carter has a limited role off the bench behind Tony Allen and Courtney Lee this season in Memphis. The veteran can provide three-point numbers in deeper leagues, but otherwise he's not getting enough time on the court to be a reasonable option in standard leagues.

Carter played in 16 minutes in the Grizzlies' win over the Timberwolves on Wednesday despite his ankle injury.
Despite logging the second most minutes off the bench for the Grizzlies on Wednesday, Carter went 1-for-7 from the floor for just four points. Tony Allen also got the nod over Carter in crunch time in a close game. Still, it looks like Carter will be playing reasonable minutes off the bench.

Carter (ankle) likely won't be 100 percent to start the 2014-15 season, 92.9 ESPN in Memphis reports.
Carter had a bone spur procedure in his right ankle back in May, was limited in practice and training camp, and has played sparingly so far in the preseason. Coach Dave Joerger expressed optimism regarding Carter's progress, and though Carter turns 38 in January, he has adjusted his game well as he has aged. It seems he'll be eased into his eventual minutes load as he regains his health early on, but Carter's ability to spread the floor and overall offensive versatility should help him earn a plentiful role off the bench during 2014-15.

Carter was limited in practice Wednesday as he rehabs from a bone spur procedure in his right ankle, which was performed in May, Grizzlies' announcer Pete Pranica reports.
This is the first we've heard of a procedure on Carter's ankle in the offseason, but Pranica said that his limitations in practice are just a normal part of the healing process, and it doesn't sound like his status for the start of the season is in doubt.
Fri Jul 11 201423:46Grizzlies agree with Vinsanity for 3yrs/$12m
Vince Carter has agreed to a three-year, $12 million deal with the Grizzlies according to Adrian Wojnarowski.
It's fair to wonder when Carter's legs will give out, but in his limited role it's very possible that he continues to put up serviceable numbers as a seasoned backup. It looks like Mike Miller is on his way out of Memphis and perhaps to Cleveland to go play with LeBron.

Wed Jul 9 201420:22Mavericks still confident they can keep Vince
The Mavericks are still confident they can re-sign unrestricted free agent Vince Carter.
Even with the massive three-year, $45 million offer sheet the Mavs just extended to Chandler Parsons, they still think they can bring back Carter. His minutes would obviously take a hit with Parsons playing a ton of minutes at small forward, so VC's fantasy value would go south in his age-37 season.

Mon Jul 7 201400:38Mavericks, Vince Carter progressing in talks
Talks between the Mavericks and Vince Carter are "trending well," according to Tim MacMahon of ESPN Dallas.
There is mutual interest and it seems like only a matter of time before Carter re-signs with the Mavs, but he's also drawn interest from the Heat, Raptors, Thunder and Trail Blazers. He had an excellent season in 2013-14 and was one of the best bench players in the NBA, but at age 37 it's unlikely that he'll get a long contract.

The Heat, Thunder, Raptors, and Trail Blazers are expected to make their pitches to Carter in addition to the Mavericks. Carter averaged 11.9 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 24.4 minutes per game last season, and showed that he still has the ability to make an impact on a team.

Mon May 5 201409:13Report: Raptors eye free agent Vince Carter
The Raptors are reportedly interested in signing Vince Carter as a free agent this summer.
Carter is coming off a tremendous season at age 37, shooting 39.4 percent from downtown while mounting a legitimate case for Sixth Man of the Year honors. He's reportedly very happy in Dallas and the Mavs have the resources to keep him in free agency, but a potential return to Canada may be intriguing enough to lure him north.

Wed Apr 30 201421:56Vince Carter turns back clock with 28 points
Vince Carter hit 10-of-16 shots and a 3-pointer for 28 points, three rebounds, two assists and a block in Wednesday's Game 5 loss to the Spurs.
Carter was fantastic tonight and the Mavs would have been lost without him. Dirk Nowitzki had 26 points and 15 rebounds, and Monta Ellis chipped in with 21 points and six assists. The Mavericks, now down 2-3, will try to keep the series going with a home win on Friday in Game 6.

Sat Apr 26 201419:20Vinsanity: Carter beats buzzer for the win
Vince Carter hit a fadeaway 3-pointer at the buzzer to beat the Spurs 109-108 in Game 3 on Saturday, finishing with 11 points, three boards, one assist and one turnover in 23 minutes.
The shot was more than just half-amazing. The Mavericks had 1.7 seconds left and it allowed Carter to get the ball in the corner, put on a pump fake, then hit a high-arching triple to beat the buzzer. The Mavs have a 2-1 lead and will look build off this win in Game 4 on Monday. This year's NBA Playoffs have been absolutely insane so far and we're only a week in.

Sun Apr 13 201400:08Vince Carter passed Adrian Dantley in scoring
Vince Carter hit just 4-of-13 shots for 10 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals on Saturday, but it was enough for him to pass Adrian Dantley for 25th place on the all-time scoring list.
Carter is having a nice year for the Mavs and should get some votes for Sixth Man of the Year, although he doesn't have much chance of winning it. And with the playoffs locked up for the Mavs, the old man could be ready for some rest.

Sat Apr 5 201402:04Carter goes hitless on eight shot attempts
Vince Carter missed all eight of his shot attempts in Friday's win and finished with zero points.
Carter added three assists and a block to this stinker but he has been great for most of the year and owners should give him a pass.

Fri Apr 4 201402:28Vince Carter scores 16 points vs. Clippers
