Thu Mar 16 202321:52Luka Doncic Officially Out For Friday
Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic (thigh) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Los Angeles Lakers. There was some hope that Doncic would suit up after being able to practice on Thursday. Despite that, Doncic is set to miss his fourth straight game due to a strained left thigh. Fellow guard Kyrie Irving (foot) is questionable for this contest. Fantasy managers will have to check back on Friday for an update on his status. In the meantime, Josh Green and Jaden Hardy will have increased value with Doncic sidelined.

Tue Mar 14 202318:11Luka Doncic Remains Out Ahead Of Wednesday
Dallas Mavericks guard/forward Luka Doncic (thigh) has already been ruled out of Wednesday's game versus the San Antonio Spurs. Doncic will miss his third straight game with a thigh injury and, given the limited news available surrounding the injury, seems to have no firm timetable to return just yet. With Tim Hardaway Jr. (calf) and Kyrie Irving (foot) both questionable, Josh Green and Jaden Hardy would be in prime position for increased roles. Hardy has now scored at least 20 points in back-to-back games without Doncic.

Fri Mar 10 202314:54Luka Doncic Ruled Out For Saturday
Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic (thigh) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Memphis Grizzlies. Doncic was forced to exit early during Wednesday's game due to a thigh issue. Luckily, the MRI results came back clean, so the team is calling Doncic day-to-day right now. It's not too shocking that he'll miss this game, but Doncic isn't expected to have a lengthy absence. Fellow guard Kyrie Irving (personal) is considered questionable for this game. The Mavericks could be extremely shorthanded for this game. That could result in Josh Green, Jaden Hardy and Tim Hardaway Jr. getting more playing time. All three of them could have some streaming appeal if Irving joins Doncic on the sideline.

Thu Mar 9 202321:47Luka Doncic Has Clean MRI Results
Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic (thigh) was pulled out early during Wednesday's game due to injury. After that, Doncic underwent an MRI, which revealed a strained left calf. It doesn't appear that Doncic is dealing with a significant injury, so he should be able to return once he's feeling better. That being said, it's uncertain if the 24-year-old will suit up for Saturday's matchup versus the Memphis Grizzlies. Otherwise, the Mavs will be forced to use a committee approach to fill the void. Jaden Hardy played more minutes on Wednesday, so he could see a boost in value if Doncic misses more time.

Wed Mar 8 202321:32Luka Doncic Pulled Early During Wednesday's Game
Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic (thigh) was forced to exit early during Wednesday's game against the New Orleans Pelicans. The 24-year-old was already dealing with a thigh issue heading into this game. It sounds like Doncic made the issue worse by playing in Wednesday's contest. He was pulled out during the third quarter and replaced by Jaden Hardy in the lineup. It's uncertain if this issue is something that is going to sideline Doncic for multiple games. Fantasy managers will have to check back later for more information.

Fri Mar 3 202311:39Luka Doncic Leads All Scorers In Win Over 76ers
Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic enjoyed a huge offensive night alongside his new backcourt mate as he and Kyrie Irving combined for 82 points. The perennial MVP candidate finished the game with 42 points, 12 assists, four rebounds, and one steal while shooting 13-for-22 from the floor, 7-for-13 from three, and 9-for-11 from the line. Doncic was unstoppable all night long as he made the Sixers' defense look pedestrian, especially in the second half. He hasn't skipped a beat since Irving joined as he's averaging 33.1 points, 7.6 rebounds, 7.6 assists, and 1.3 steals per game since then.

Sun Feb 12 202308:58Luka Doncic Returns With 27 Points
Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic was back from a four-game absence and put up 27 points in a 133-128 overtime loss to Sacramento Saturday night. Playing in his first game next to Kyrie Irving, Doncic shot 11-for-20 from the field and had a 2-for-9 record with the three-ball. Irving shot 11-for-21 and outscored Doncic by one point. Doncic completed his line with nine rebounds, five assists and six turnovers. It's going to be very interesting to watch how the dynamic duo develops in Dallas and there might be some bumps on the road at first. Irving and Doncic will get the next chance to work on their chemistry Monday against Minnesota.

Fri Feb 10 202315:32Luka Doncic Downgraded To Out On Friday
Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic (heel) will have to wait for at least one more game to debut the new, electric backcourt alongside Kyrie Irving. A right heel contusion has proved to cause too much pain so he was downgraded and will not play against the Sacramento Kings on Friday. This doesn't rule him out for their back half of the back-to-back on Saturday. Josh Green would be the best streaming option in his absence, but still presents a good amount of risk in not-so-deep leagues.

Fri Feb 10 202313:152023 NBA Trade Deadline Breakdown - Fantasy Basketball Impacts
The NBA trade deadline has officially come and gone and we had one of the most active deadlines in recent memory with some big stars being dealt. Kyrie, KD, and Westbrook are all heading to new teams and we have been covering those trades and their fantasy impacts here at RotoBaller. But there were plenty of other lesser-known players who were dealt in the last few days and I wanted to go through and make sure we don't overlook some of these trades as some of those deals may even have more fantasy impact than the big moves. So here are some other trades that went down and my two cents on the increase or decrease in value that we should expect from the players involved for the remainder of the 2022-2023 fantasy basketball season.

Moves That Matter

These are very much in order of how much they matter. Let's start with the Spurs sending their starting center back up North where he started his career.Jakob Poeltl to the RaptorsI am a huge Poeltl fan and was close to acquiring him on multiple teams before the deadline. It was a curious move by Toronto to be buyers instead of sellers at the deadline, but Poeltl gives them the presence at the five they have been lacking all season and allows Siakam to shift over and play PF where he belongs.Poeltl is no longer a shutdown candidate and has legit top-50 upside with his multi-category abilities. His departure also makes ... [More]
Thu Feb 9 202323:29Kevin Durant Traded to Suns - Fantasy Basketball Impact
As hectic as this year's NBA trade deadline has been, with 28 out of the 30 teams making at least one trade, early Thursday morning at 1:00 am, a blockbuster trade went down that not many expected. However, if you had read my previous article, you could have gotten a glimpse of the future thanks to my magic ball, as the first "potential trade" I wrote about was sending Kevin Durant to none other than the Pheonix Suns.Kevin Durant is undeniably a top-three player and arguably even the best in the NBA right now. It's not surprising to hear how stunned the NBA world was after seeing this trade, as the Suns sold a huge chunk of their future for the Nets superstar but were somehow saved from involving Deandre Ayton in the trade!Any average NBA fan knows how much of an impact future Hall of Famer Kevin Durant has on any team, but to emphasize just how much, check this out: The Suns went from odds of +1800 of winning the finals to +450 on Thursday morning after the huge trade, now only behind the Boston Celtics, who lead the race with their odds being +350.

Kevin Durant's Season Recap

Durant (knee) has been sidelined for over a month after getting hurt on January 8 against the Miami Heat and remains without a timetable to return to make his debut with the Suns. Before getting hurt, the 13-time All-Star was averaging 29.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 0.8 steals, 1.8 blocks, and 36 minutes in 39 appearances this season.
Tue Feb 7 202307:15Kyrie Irving Traded To Dallas - Fantasy Basketball Impact
Without a doubt, Kyrie Irving is arguably one of the most naturally gifted players in the National Basketball Association. He's a fantastic ball-handler and can get to the rim with ease. However, the former Duke Blue Devil's career has been surrounded by controversy, ultimately impacting his ability to win an MVP.The NBA trade deadline kicked off with a bang when Irving, who had demanded a trade out of Brooklyn, was traded to the Dallas Mavericks. NBA fans and fantasy managers are left wondering how things will play out.To keep close tabs on all of the news across the NBA, make sure to favorite or bookmark the RotoBaller Fantasy Basketball Newspage, or download the free RotoBaller fantasy basketball mobile app with push notification alerts on all the latest news.

Kyrie Irving's Season Recap

Irving got suspended for an antisemitic social media post, keeping him out of the lineup for eight games. But since then, the 30-year-old stayed out of the limelight, so most had assumed he finally turned things around. He's played well all season, averaging 27.1 points, 5.3 assists, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.0 steals in 40 appearances.https://twitter.com/ShamsCharania/status/1622324668047794177?s=20&t=NTffJ2tRvNpjAA7bddjYHQHe was also selected to the All-Star team for the eighth time in his career. However, things were apparently going too well, as Irving dropped a bombshell by requesting a trade. His wish was granted, as he was sent to Dallas in exchange for ... [More]
Fri Feb 3 202316:25Luka Doncic Will Not Travel To Start Off Road Trip
Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic (heel) is not traveling with the team to San Francisco to take on the Golden State Warriors on Saturday. This is the first of a five-game road trip and the team has yet to rule him out for the whole trip. As of right now, it's too soon to know how many games he will end up missing, so fantasy managers will want to check back for any updates. During his absence, Spencer Dinwiddie will be the best streaming option while Josh Green could produce for teams in deeper leagues or in desperation mode.

Tue Jan 31 202308:36Luka Doncic Wows The Crowd Again
Dallas Mavericks point guard Luka Doncic once again looked superhuman in Monday's matchup against Detroit, dropping 53 points on 17-for-24 shooting in a 111-105 victory. He went 5-for-11 with the three-ball and was 14-for-18 at the foul line, pulling down eight rebounds and posting five assists and two steals in 36 minutes. Doncic set a new franchise record for most points scored in regulation, and he now has five 50-point efforts for his career. Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic (ankle) has been upgraded to available for Monday's game against the Detroit Pistons. The superstar guard is back on the court after missing one game due to a sprained left ankle. Sun Jan 29 202322:30Luka Doncic Considered Questionable For Monday
Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic (ankle) is listed as questionable for the team's next game on Monday against the Detroit Pistons. After leaving the game against Phoenix when he tweaked his ankle, he was considered day-to-day, and then he missed Saturday's loss to Utah. While they don't want to rush him back and risk further injury, the team has yet to win a game he doesn't play in. If they hold him out for another game, Spencer Dinwiddie and Josh Green remain the best streaming options.

Sat Jan 28 202313:30Luka Doncic Out Against Utah
Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic (ankle) won't play on Saturday versus the Utah Jazz. The MVP front-runner tweaked his left ankle during Thursday's meeting with the Suns, ending his night after only three minutes on the floor. Doncic is considered day-to-day, although the team surely won't rush him back before he's 100%. But until he returns, Spencer Dinwiddie, who finished with 36 points against Phoenix, is a must-start fantasy option.

Fri Jan 27 202313:49Luka Doncic Considered Day-To-Day With Ankle Sprain
Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic (ankle) was forced to exit Thursday's game against the Phoenix Suns when he stepped on Mikal Bridges' foot and sprained his ankle. Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that Doncic is suffering from a 'mild' sprain and is now considered day-to-day. That leaves his status for Saturday's game as questionable. The team would likely lean more toward the cautious side and keep him out of that game if he's feeling any discomfort. Spencer Dinwiddie and Josh Green would serve as streaming options in his absence.

Sat Jan 21 202307:02Luka Doncic Posts 34 Points, 12 Rebounds Against Miami
Dallas Mavericks point guard Luka Doncic guided his team past Miami on Friday with a game-high 34 points. He also outrebounded everybody on the court, grabbing 12 boards, and completed his line in a 115-90 victory with seven assists and one steal. This was also a very good shooting performance from Doncic, as he went 12-for-24 from the field with a 5-for-8 record from deep. It was the first game for the team since Christian Wood (thumb) went down and Doncic showed that life should be just fine without him.
