The Yomiuri Giants have declined a 2012 option on former White Sox pitcher Carlos Torres.
Torres, now 29 years old, is fielding offers from other Japenese teams and some Korean clubs. He could also sign a minor league contract and return to the states. The right-hander had a 6.86 career ERA in the bigs.

Carlos Torres will pitch in Asia next season.
The White Sox threw him on waivers Tuesday so that he can attempt to resurrect his playing career (and earn a little more money) overseas. The 28-year-old Torres posted an 8.56 ERA and 2.34 WHIP in 13 2/3 big-league innings this past year, but he looked far better down at the Triple-A level.

Torres has made one start and one relief appearance in the big leagues this season and didn't pitch well in either of them. The right-hander will be used in low-pressure relief situations down the stretch.

White Sox recalled RHP Carlos Torres from Triple-A Charlotte.
Torres will start the second half of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Tigers. The 27-year-old right-hander has thrown up a 3.41 ERA and 1.24 WHIP in 22 appearances this year at Triple-A while striking out 122 batters in 129 1/3 innings. He should only be tried in very deep AL-only leagues.
