Henderson has officially exercised his player option for the 2015-16 season.
Henderson averaged 12.1 points and 3.4 rebounds last season, and he'll opt in to remain with the Hornets for final year of his deal, which will pay him $6 million. While Henderson is a serviceable shooting guard option, he's limited as a perimeter player and struggles as a three-point shooter. Henderson connected on a career-best 45 threes in 2014-15, but that ranked just 54th in the league among shooting guards.

Henderson's production dropped off a bit this season, as he posted averages of 12.1 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.6 assists over 29 minutes per game. This was, however, Henderson's healthiest season of his career, playing in a career-high 80 games and starting in 72 for the Hornets.
The statistical drop-off was expected for Henderson with the arrival of free agent Lance Stephenson this season. And while Stephenson dominated the court time to start the year, as his production declined, so did his minutes. This allowed Henderson to step into a more prominent role for Charlotte, one that he had been used to having in years prior. Near the end of the year, Henderson was dominating most of the minutes as a shooting guard and a small forward and producing his best numbers of the year. His most productive month was March, where is scored in double-figures in 15 of 17 games and recorded 20-plus points in five of those. He also posted two double-doubles and finished the month with averages of 15.4 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.8 assists. Henderson had fairly consistent fantasy value because of his ability to contribute in multiple categories. He did not always post a high volume of rebounds or assists, but he always sure to contribute at least something on top of scoring every night. If Henderson at least gets minutes like he did after the All-Star break (32 per game) next season, he will look to be a strong contributor once again. The only question for Henderson is where he will be next season, as while he does have a $6 million player option he can execute for next season, he is unsure of what he wants to do. Henderson has stated that while he would like to stay in Charlotte, he is seeking a longer-term deal if possible.

Henderson said he's unsure whether or not he'll exercise his player option for next season, the Charlotte Observer reports.
Henderson holds a $6 million option for the 2015-16 season, and he said he hasn't given the decision much thought yet. A 2008 draftee of the then-Bobcats, Henderson said he'd like to remain in Charlotte, though he'll likely seek a longer-term deal if possible.

Henderson scored 23 points (10-19 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-4 FT) with two assists and two steals in 37 minutes during Wednesday's loss to the Nets.
He tied for the team lead in points, but Henderson also turned the ball over on the Hornets' final possession when they might have had a chance to tie the game. Henderson is now averaging 16.0 points in eight games since Kemba Walker rejoined the lineup, and at this point doesn't seem likely to lose his spot as the starting two guard.

Henderson scored 17 points (7-16 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 3-4 FT) with 11 assists and six rebounds in 34 minutes during Wednesday's loss to the Kings.
Kemba Walker returned from his knee injury Wednesday but only in a limited role off the bench, giving Henderson at least one more chance to shine. Once Walker is ready to assume his usual spot in the starting lineup, however, expect Henderson's fantasy value to take a big hit.

Henderson scored 19 points (7-11 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 4-6 FT) with two rebounds, two assists and a steal in 31 minutes during Wednesday's win over the Nets.
He's on a nice roll, scoring in double digits in five straight games, but with Kemba Walker (knee) back at practice and close to returning to action, once of Henderson or Mo Williams will be losing their starting job in the near future. If Henderson gets bumped to the bench, his fantasy value will likely take a big hit.

Henderson (wrist) posted four points (1-6 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT) to go with three rebounds, two assists, and one steal in 26 minutes of action Sunday against the Mavericks.
Henderson has been dealing with soreness in his wrist, but hasn't missed much time due to the ailment. It's clearly affecting his performance, though, as he's shooting just 27 percent from the field over the last five games. Still, he's averaging 11.4 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 6.2 assists during that span, and he'll continue to be a major part of the offense with Kemba Walker out.

Henderson is dealing with some soreness in his right wrist but will play in Sunday's game against the Mavericks, the Charlotte Observer reports.
Henderson's injury can likely be chalked up to the normal wear and tear of the season. He will likely be deployed as usual but the Hornets should monitor his wrist to see if he needs some time off the court in the future to rest.

Henderson scored 13 points (2-9 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 9-9 FT), to go with four rebounds, and three assists in 24 minutes on Sunday.
Henderson certainly finds ways to score and Charlotte really needs him to with Kemba Walker out. If your team needs a scoring boost Henderson is worth a look, but he doesn't offer much beyond that.

Henderson scored 27 points (10-15 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 7-8 FT) Thursday against the Wizards, a game after dropping 17 on them Monday. He also had four rebounds, one assists, two blocks and two steals in 36 minutes.
Henderson always seems to have a good game against the Wizards, and went off on them in back-to-back games. However, Henderson has been fairly inconsistent. He had four games of single-digit points in January, but also five games of 15 or more points in that span. Henderson is still likely worth owning in most leagues, though, especially with Kemba Walker (knee) out.

Henderson (illness) scored a team-high 20 points (6-19 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 8-9 FT) with four rebounds and four assists in 33 minutes in the overtime win against the Pacers on Saturday.
Henderson has been struggling from the field and the illness probably didn't help. In his last three games, he is just 14-of-42 (33.3 percent) from the field. Henderson was able to get to the line against the Pacers which helped his scoring total.
Sat Jan 17 201511:41Henderson (illness) will start against Pacers on Saturday
Henderson (illness) will start against the Pacers on Saturday, the Charlotte Observer reports.
Henderson is battling flu-like symptoms but managed to participate in Saturday's morning shootaround despite missing practice Friday. He's averaging 26.2 minutes over 38 games this season, although there's some doubt that the 27-year-old's stamina may not hold up for his normal time on the court since he's still overcoming the illness.
Fri Jan 16 201512:46Henderson missed Friday's practice with flu
Henderson missed Friday's practice with the flu, the Charlotte Observer reports.
Henderson should be considered questionable ahead of Saturday's game against the Pacers. If he's ultimately unable to play, then P.J. Hairston would likely see a bump in playing time.

Henderson scored a season-high 31 points (13-20 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 5-7 FT) with five rebounds and three assists in 38 minutes during Thursday's win over the Raptors.
He's on a roll at the moment, scoring at least 13 points in six of his last seven games, and while Thursday's eruption will almost certainly be Henderson's high water mark he should continue to be productive while Lance Stephenson remains sidelined.

Henderson scored 16 points (7-17 FG, 2-2 FT) with seven rebounds, six assists and a block in 36 minutes during Wednesday's win over the Pelicans.
He's enjoying some recent success, averaging 14.5 points, 5.2 boards and 4.3 assists over his last six games, and with the Hornets having no timetable yet for Lance Stephenson's return, Henderson should continue to have value in the short term.

Henderson struggled in a loss to the Thunder on Friday, scoring two points on 1-for-7 shooting and only grabbing three rebounds in 23 minutes.
The Hornets only scored 75 points Friday, but Henderson certainly didn't do his part. He has continued to see inflated minutes with Lance Stephenson (pelvis) out, and has been wildly inconsistent. His 20-point performance Tuesday against the Bucks is now sandwiched by games of four and two points. Even if Henderson continues to see more playing time, he's not consistent enough to be a real fantasy option.
Tue Dec 23 201423:08Gerald Henderson:
Henderson scored 20 points (6-10 FG, 1-1 3PT, 7-8 FT) while adding four assists, and two rebounds in 32 minutes of action against Milwaukee on Tuesday.
Tuesday night represented just the second 20 point game for Henderson on the season. He continues to see inflated minutes while Lance Stephenson (groin) remains injured. If Henderson can become more efficient, he could continue seeing more playing time.

Henderson started in place of Lance Stephenson (groin) and was able to contribute 11 points, two rebounds, four assists, one steal and two blocks in 32 minutes against the Sixers on Friday.
Henderson has actually seen this amount of minutes numerous time this season, although he's a streaky player who struggles with consistency from game-to-game. The 27-year-old will likely continue to fill-in for Stephenson for as long as he's sidelined with his groin issue.
Fri Dec 19 201419:04Gerald Henderson: To Start Friday
Henderson will receive the start at shooting guard against the Sixers on Friday, the Charlotte Observer reports.
Henderson will receive the start in the place of Lance Stephenson, who is out with a groin injury. he's averaging nearly 24 minutes on the season, but could receive a bump Friday.

Henderson scored 18 points (8-14 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-1 FT) to go along with five rebounds and three assists in 37 minutes Monday against the Mavericks.
Henderson had his best game of the season by far Monday as he saw increased playing time due to injuries to Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (foot) and P.J. Hairston (ankle). Expect Henderson to see increased minutes until both players return.
