Mon Nov 17 201417:43Henderson will get start Monday against Mavericks
Henderson will get the start Monday against the Mavericks, Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer reports.
Henderson came off the bench over the weekend, as P.J. Hairston notched a pair of starts with Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (foot) sidelined. Kidd-Gilchrist remains out Monday, and coach Steve Clifford will give Henderson a shot in the starting five, pushing Hairston back to a reserve role. Henderson scored three points in 15 minutes against the Suns on Friday and five points in 28 minutes Saturday against Golden State. He's yet to score in double-figures this season.

Henderson will start at small forward Tuesday against the Pelicans in the absence of Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (chest), Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer reports.
Henderson has seen limited action off the bench in three games thus far, playing a season-high 18 minutes against the Knicks on Saturday. He had just four points (0-5 FG) in that contest to go with two rebounds and a pair of fouls. With Kidd-Gilchrist out of action Tuesday, Henderson should see 20-plus minutes but could split time with Gary Neal.

Henderson (hamstring) posted eight points (4-7 FG), three rebounds and one steal in 17 minutes during the Hornets' 71-69 loss versus the Grizzlies on Saturday.
After being held scoreless in the season opener, Henderson got it going a little bit offensively on Saturday. On a night when Lance Stephenson and Kemba Walker struggled so badly it might have made sense for Henderson to see a few more minutes, but it's likely he's being brought back slowly in hopes of avoiding a setback. With Michael Kidd-Gilchrist playing well early on and Walker and Stephenson being staples in the starting lineup Henderson will likely have to get used to playing a reserve role in 2014-15. However, if he can provide a consistent scoring punch off the bench once he's fully healthy, he could be worth a look in deeper leagues.

Henderson (hamstring) did not score (0-2 FG), but added one rebound, one assist, and one steal in nine minutes of action Wednesday.
Henderson did not play much in the preseason due to this hamstring injury, so he was likely still rusty when he got his first court time in about a month. As the season goes on, he should see his minutes balloon up as he re-acclimates himself with his teammates. Henderson could even challenge for a starting spot this year, though that would likely be a gradual process that would require some impressive games off the bench first.

Henderson will play Wednesday against the Bucks, the Associated Press reports.
Henderson missed the entire preseason with his hamstring injury, so he will be rusty and likely won't get the start for the season opener. As Henderson works his way back, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist could see his minutes shrink.

Henderson (hamstring) will not play in Thursday's preseason finale against the Pacers, the Charlotte Observer reports.
Henderson went through non-contact portions of Wednesday's practice, but his hamstring soreness will prevent him from making a preseason appearance. Nonetheless, the swingman is thought to be close to returning to action, making his status worthwhile to monitor in advance of the Bobcats' Oct. 29 regular season opener.

Henderson (hamstring) was able to work out Monday and is aiming to make a return against the Pacers on Thursday, the Charlotte Observer reports.
Henderson has dealt with a strained hamstring for the past two weeks but appears to be turning a corner just in time for the start of the season. While his availability is still in question for Thursday's preseason game, a return before the start of the regular season on Oct. 29 is looking bright.

Henderson (hamstring) will not play Monday against the Hawks.
Henderson is still battling a strained hamstring that's kept him out of action throughout the preseason. The injury has prevented him from competing with Michael Kidd-Gilchrist for the starting small forward spot, and Kidd-Gilchrist will likely win the position by default.

Henderson (hamstring) had a setback this week and may not play Friday or Sunday, Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer reports.
Henderson is nursing a sprained hamstring but was on track earlier in the week to play Friday in D.C. or Sunday in Chicago. If he's unable to go in either of those games, Henderson will shoot for a return in the team's final preseason game Oct. 23 against Indiana. Henderson is in competition with Michael Kidd-Gilchrist for a starting spot, and Kidd-Gilchrist is averaging 9.2 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in four preseason contests.

Henderson will compete with Michael Kidd-Gilchrist for the fifth and final starting spot in Charlotte during the preseason, the Charlotte Observer reports.
Due to the versatility of offseason addition Lance Stephenson, the situation on the Bobcats' wing is fluid. Depending on the success of lineups featuring Henderson at two-guard and Kidd-Gilchrist at the three in the top unit, Stephenson will slot wherever he's needed, with no clear indication who represents the leader in the clubhouse. Henderson himself must prove the health of his right wrist, which underwent surgery to remove scar tissue in late May. In reality, the decision will likely come down to needing a presence on defense or offense, the latter of which would press Henderson into the starting five.
Wed Aug 13 201411:25Henderson will push for playing time on wing in 2014-15
Henderson will push for playing time on the wing in 2014-15, the Charlotte Observer reports. Regarding the Hornets' crowded backcourt, he said, "I'm going to play the same game and be as effective as I can, in whatever time I get."
The Hornets made a splash in free agency this summer, inking Lance Stephenson to a three-year deal. He'll supplant Henderson as the starting shooting guard, but Stephenson's size (6-6, 227) and versatility will allow him to slot in at small forward as well. As a result, Henderson isn't expected to approach the 30-plus minutes per game that he garnered as a starter the last three seasons, especially with Gary Neal in the two-guard rotation. However, Henderson should retain some value in the upcoming campaign due to his scoring ability.
Thu Jun 26 201418:41Hornets shopping Gerald Henderson?
The Hornets reportedly offered Gerald Henderson and the 24th pick to get Arron Afflalo, according to ESPN.com.
He still has two years and $12 million left on his deal, so it's not just about talent. The Hornets are looking to make some room for offseason moves, but they do want to get some improved 3-point shooting. Henderson could wind up being dealt tonight.

Sat Mar 22 201421:39Gerald Henderson scores 23 points
Gerald Henderson was cooking against the Blazers on Saturday with 23 points, eight boards, five assists, one stew, one block and two 3-pointers.
He shot 8-of-11 from the field and hit all five free throw attempts to make this an eight-cat line. It's probably his best game of the season and tonight was also the third time in franchise history Henderson, Kemba Walker and Al Jefferson each topped 20 points in a game. His 3-point shot is dropping with multiple makes in four of his last five, averaging 15.2 points, 5.2 boards, 3.2 assists, 0.6 steals, 0.6 blocks and 1.8 triples. He's worth a look while he's hot.

Wed Mar 19 201423:57Gerald Henderson scores 13 w/ another trey
Gerald Henderson hit 6-of-13 shots and another 3-pointer for 13 points, six rebounds, three assists and a steal in Wednesday's loss.
Henderson has now hit seven 3-pointers over his last four games after totaling just 22 of then on the entire season prior to his four-game run. And if he's going to keep knocking them down, he looks like a nice add in most leagues. He's averaging 13.2 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.4 3-pointers over his last five games on 54 percent shooting.

Mon Mar 17 201421:26Gerald Henderson hits two more 3-pointers
Gerald Henderson scored 16 points in 29 minutes against the Hawks on Monday with three boards, one assist and two 3-pointers.
He had one of the more embarrassing plays of the season as he was rejected by the rim. Henderson continues to shoot treys and he's had the best stretch of his career from downtown with two in each of his last three. It would be nice to know this would continue, but he's still not taking enough attempts to suggest he'll keep it up.
