Burks doesn't do much besides score on most nights with the occasional flurry of assists, so his value is well below standard league level but if need a scorer he has been consistent in that department.

He's had trouble staying consistent all season, and while we wouldn't tell you not to play him after the All-Star break, expectations need to be tempered. Especially since he won't be able to play the Sixers and Lakers every night.

The good news for Burks' fantasy owners is that his minutes won't drop off too far in a sixth-man role.

Considering how he played just 24 minutes, this is a very solid line. Burks has made it clear he's capable of being an effective scorer with Gordon Hayward (hip) out over the last five, averaging 18.8 points, 3.4 boards, 4.0 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.6 triples on 51.7 percent from the field. He might not be able to sustain this production, but he's earned more minutes and it's not like Richard Jefferson is the Kevin Durant of Western Conference starting small forwards.

Burks hit all eight of his free throws and though he didn't have a three, he spent the evening inside of the lane taking full advantage of the Nuggets' ongoing open-door policy. Only two of his makes came outside of the paint and though Burks has been serviceable in Hayward's absence, it's still hard to move the needle with Hayward day-to-day and traveling with the team for Wednesday's game against the Spurs.

Burks hit just 4-of-7 free throws and as usual didn't have a steal or block, taking a lot of the bang out of this line's buck. Hayward has already been listed as a game-time decision for Monday's game, so owners shouldn't move the needle much, if at all on Burks' value. The loss ended a four-game Jazz winning streak.

Burks has been just a borderline value in 12-14 team leagues over the past two weeks, and the picture gets more bleak when you look at his season-long numbers that are a handful of rounds worse than that. He'll need to improve his 1.7 combined steals, blocks and threes if he's going to do anything about that.

He didn't play in the last eight minutes of the game and the sudden decrease minutes wasn't explained by coach Ty Corbin. The Jazz gave up a lot of easy buckets and were slow on rotations and maybe it was just a one-time thing. Burks played 31.5 minutes per game over his previous four, so his owners shouldn't make any hasty cuts.
