Scott is averaging 12.3 points and 3.7 rebounds during 16.3 minutes on the court this season.
Scott is a more than capable backup to Paul Millsap but his minutes will be curbed as long as he continues to come off the bench. As for now, the 26-year-old is on the fringe of having justified ownership in standard leagues.

Scott scored 20 points (8-11 FG, 4-6 3P) with four rebounds in 21 minutes off the bench Wednesday.
His hot preseason shooting carried over into the regular season. Scott won't see enough minutes to be a consistent fantasy asset, but he's capable of the occasional eruption.
Fri Aug 1 201421:11Mike Scott: Will Remain In Atlanta
Scott agreed to a three-year contract to remain in Atlanta worth $10 million, Yahoo! Sports reports.
Scott had a solid season last year as he averaged 9.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, 0.9 assists, 0.4 steals and 0.1 blocks on 18.5 minutes per game. While he provided valuable minutes off the bench for Atlanta last season, the 26-year-old may have trouble reaching the court with the addition of rookie Adreian Payne and the return of Al Horford (chest). A crowded Atlanta frontcourt might leave Scott on the outside looking in.
Tue Jul 29 201417:13Hawks RFA Mike Scott mulls offer from Russia
Hawks restricted FA Mike Scott is reportedly considering a lucrative three-year offer from CSKA Moscow.
Scott prefers to stay in the NBA, according to Adrian Wojnarowski, but he may be lured overseas by the promise of a payday he couldn't approach in the U.S. He's coming off a solid 2013-14 season in which he averaged 9.6 points on 47.9 percent shooting, but Atlanta may not be inclined to keep him on more than a minimum contract.

Tue Jul 1 201411:49Hawks may not splurge to keep Mike Scott
Rival teams think restricted free agent Mike Scott can be theirs with a strong offer sheet.
The Hawks are reportedly trying to save cap space, so teams believe that Scott can be theirs if they give him a big enough contract that Atlanta won't want to match. Scott averaged 9.6 points, 0.8 three-pointers, and 3.6 boards last season in 18.5 minutes per game, so the 25-year-old's fantasy upside is a bit limited unless he lands on a team who is willing to give him a lot more run.

Sun May 11 201415:50Mike Scott focused on his perimeter game
Mike Scott said that his priority this summer will be improving his perimeter game, dribbling and ability to defend guards.
The Hawks' switching defense requires Scott to keep up with smaller and quicker players on a regular basis, and his 'stretch PF' role means that "you have to be able to handle the ball ... I'm not totally comfortable with it yet." Scott hopes to return with the Hawks next season and they're in a position to retain him as a restricted free agent.

Mon Apr 28 201422:45World's Best Boss: Mike Scott torches Pacers
Mike Scott hit 5-of-6 three pointers in the second quarter and finished with 17 points on 6-of-9 shooting as the Hawks took Game 5 in Indiana on Monday.
There were others that arguably contributed more for the Hawks, but it was Scott's flurry that keyed a 41-19 second quarter for Atlanta that the Pacers could never recover from. Shelvin Mack scored 20 points with five assists off the bench, Kyle Korver went 5-of-10 from deep for 16 points, and Paul Millsap went for 18 and eight with four blocks. The Hawks head to Indy up 3-2 with a chance to take down the No. 1 seed on Thursday.

Wed Apr 16 201423:18Mike Scott scores 17 to lead Hawks to win
Mike Scott hit 8-of-13 shots and a 3-pointer for 17 points, four rebounds, four assists and a steal in Wednesday's meaningless win over the Bucks.
Scott could have some playoff value for the Hawks, but will come off the bench with everyone healthy. DeMarre Carroll scored 13, Jeff Teague had 11, Cartier Martin had 14, Mike Muscala had 15 and Shelvin Mack had 11 points, as the Hawks gave the bench guys some run tonight.

Mon Apr 14 201422:50Scott scores an inefficient 20 points
Mike Scott hit just 8-of-23 shots for 20 points, six rebounds and one three in Monday's loss.
Scott is always a good bet to touch the ball a lot when the Hawks trot out a depleted lineup. Give him a look, but don't expect much in the way of versatility or efficiency if Wednesday's lineup looks a lot like tonight.

Mon Apr 14 201414:41Mike Scott will start on Monday night
Mike Scott will start against the Bobcats on Monday.
Paul Millsap (rest) isn't going to play which opens up a ton of playing time for Scott. The Hawks have used him next to Millsap on numerous occasions, so he should be a focal point for their offense. In fact, when Millsap has been off the floor in the past month, Scott has a usage rate of 30.7 percent. He's a nice plug-and-play tonight.

Thu Mar 27 201421:48Mike Scott doesn't score coming off the bench
Mike Scott moved back to the bench on Thursday vs. the Blazers with three boards, one assist and no points in 13 minutes.
When Paul Millsap plays and Scott is coming off the bench, Scott hasn't had the best of luck. The Hawks did slide guys around to play Scott next to Millsap earlier in the year, but Mike Mascala has worked his way into the rotation. Scott can be left alone for now.

Thu Mar 27 201418:50Mike Scott back to bench, Shelvin Mack starts
Mike Scott will return to the Hawks' bench on Thursday, as Shelvin Mack shifts back into the SG spot with DeMarre Carroll at SF.
Scott had 15 points and seven rebounds in a start on Wednesday, but the Hawks got blown out and coach Mike Budenholzer is reverting to a more traditional lineup with Kyle Korver (back) still on the sidelines. Mack hasn't played well in recent starts and neither he nor Mack are particularly safe options with their roles in flux.

Thu Mar 27 201400:50Mike Scott plays well in start at SF
Mike Scott started at small forward and hit 6-of-11 shots and two 3-pointers for 15 points and seven rebounds in Wednesday's ugly loss to the Wolves.
The Hawks weren't getting much from Shelvin Mack at shooting guard, so they went with Scott tonight. If Kyle Korver ever returns from his back injury, Scott will take a hit, but if you want to grab him just in case, he's not a bad player to stash if you have someone you want to cut.

Wed Mar 26 201412:59Mike Scott starts at SF, Mack to Hawks' bench
Mike Scott will start at SF for the Hawks on Wednesday, sending Shelvin Mack to the bench.
Kyle Korver (back) is out again and coach Mike Budenholzer is rolling out a bigger lineup vs. the Wolves, as Atlanta continues to cling to the East's final playoff spot. Scott has fared well as a starter with Paul Millsap out in the past, and it will be interesting to see how the two co-exist in the starting five.

Tue Mar 11 201401:33Scott scores seven points with three boards
Mike Scott scored just seven points with three rebounds in 16 minutes off the bench on Monday.
This has typically happened to Scott when Paul Millsap is at full strength and even the Hawks' favorable playoff schedule can't help him at this rate. He's just a speculative deep league player until further notice.

Sun Mar 9 201401:27Mike Scott plays 15 minutes in tough loss
Mike Scott came off the bench for 10 points, one rebound and a 3-pointer in just 15 minutes on Saturday.
Pero Antic and Paul Millsap are back for the Hawks, meaning Scott and Elton Brand will struggle for minutes off the bench. If either of the big starters suffer an injury, Scott will quickly become relevant again for the fantasy playoffs. But if Antic and Millsap stay healthy, Scott and Brand will be very shaky fantasy plays the rest of the way.

Sat Mar 8 201401:28Scott scores 14 points off the bench
Mike Scott scored 14 points off the bench on Friday, hitting 6-of-14 shots (including a three) with three rebounds and one steal in 24 minutes.
The Hawks have a great fantasy playoff schedule but on a per-game basis he'll be a borderline value in 12-14 team leagues barring a major change in production.

Thu Mar 6 201401:12Mike Scott, Elton Brand quiet in ugly loss
Mike Scott hit 2-of-6 shots for four points and three rebounds, and Elton Brand had six points and three rebounds in Wednesday's ugly loss in Portland.
The Hawks hit just 29-of-88 shots (33 percent) and 4-of-27 3-pointers (15 percent) on a night that saw Kyle Korver's 127-game 3-pointers streak end. Yes, Pero Antic was back, but the Hawks were a disaster tonight and Scott and Brand would have struggled with Antic in street clothes. The Hawks have a great weekly playoff schedule and all four players are probably worth rostering in weekly leagues, given the 4-4-4-4 finish during the fantasy playoffs.

Sun Mar 2 201423:14Mike Scott scores 20 points in start at PF
Mike Scott started at PF vs. the Suns and scored 20 points on 8-of-18 shooting, including three 3-pointers, with five rebounds, two assists and three steals.
Scott didn't even turn the ball over despite playing a game-high 40 minutes, and he's worth a long look since Paul Millsap (knee) remains without a return date. The Hawks lost despite Scott's solid evening, and they've now dropped seven consecutive road games due primarily to horrid defense.

Wed Feb 26 201422:36Mike Scott disappears in loss to Boston
Mike Scott missed all six of his shots and finished with zero points and one rebound in just 17 minutes off the bench on Wednesday.
Ouch. Scott has been playing well and scored a career-high on Saturday and had scored in double figures in three straight games. He appeared to be a safe bet with Paul Millsap out again tonight, but he never got his shot to work while Elton Brand and DeMarre Carroll were feeling it for the struggling Hawks tonight. Scott will bounce back from this, but it's also an example of how inconsistent unproven players can be, especially when coming off the bench.
