It was quite a day for pitchers in the minor leagues, what with Brasier's no-hitter and one-hitters from R.A. Dickey and Kyle Gibson. Brasier, a 2007 sixth-round pick, has opened this year 2-1 with a 3.28 ERA after going 7-5 with a 5.27 ERA in 14 starts and 21 relief appearances between Single-A Rancho Cucamonga and Arkansas last season. Never very highly regarded, he was likely only in the rotation for the start of this year because of the decision to shift top prospect Jordan Walden to the pen. | ||||||
