Fri Sep 25 201518:33Pagan out of lineup Friday against Athletics
Pagan is out of the lineup Friday against the Athletics.
Pagan will finally receive a day off Friday following a long string of starts in center field. In his place, Jarrett Parker will make the start in center, batting seventh for the Giants.

Pagan smacked his third home run of the season in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Padres.
Pagan has been swinging a hot bat since returning from the disabled list September 1, slashing .307/.366/.480 with three homers and three stolen bases over that span. He is looking the 2014 multi-category contributing version of Pagan, rather than the banged up version we have seen for most of the year. Those in need of a fourth or fifth outfielder should definitely consider Pagan if he is available on your waiver wire.

Pagan filled the stat sheet Sunday, going 2-for-4 with a walk, three runs, an RBI, and a trio of stolen bases in the win over the Padres.
Pagan continues to swing a hot bat since returning from the disabled list September 1, slashing .348/.488/.836 during that span. The only complaint about his recent surge was his lack of speed, but he quickly put that to rest with an impressive three-steal performance Sunday. Pagan is finally healthy and slotted atop San Francisco's lineup, he should be owned until he cools off.
Sun Sep 13 201505:18Pagan 2-5 with solo homer in Saturday's 8-0 shutout of Padres
Pagan went 2-for-5 with a solo homer in Saturday's 8-0 shutout of the Padres.
After going 441 plate appearances without a long ball, Pagan has now hit two homers in the last week -- a span including three multi-hit games. Pagan's lack of power hasn't been a complete surprise; his underwhelming speed and contact numbers, however, have disappointed fantasy owners. With fellow outfielders Hunter Pence and Gregor Blanco likely out for the season, Pagan will be in good position to play every day down the stretch.

Pagan batted leadoff and went 2-for-5 with a double in Monday's loss to the Diamondbacks.
The Giants have been mired in an eight-game losing streak, but Pagan has been having personal success with a .360 batting average and a homer in six starts since being activated from the DL. He has been a general disappointment so far this year, but he was also playing through various injuries for a good chunk of the season. Pagan may have received the proper rest needed for his knees to heal fully, and he could be in for a strong finish to the season. The speed will have to show up for Pagan to truly return to form, but he is swinging a hot bat right now and should be targeted for those in need of cheap outfield help.
Sun Sep 6 201502:26Pagan 2-5 with solo homer in Saturday's 7-3 victory over Rockies
Pagan went 2-for-5 with a solo homer in Saturday's 7-3 victory over the Rockies.
Pagan's home run was just his first of the year, after going an astounding 441 plate appearances without a long ball. The 34-year-old has shown significant signs of wear and tear this season, missing time on the DL with a knee injury while posting a career-worst .057 ISO. With the recently acquired Marlon Byrd and Alejandro de Aza now vying for playing time in San Francisco's outfield, Saturday's performance may not indicate more at-bats for Pagan.

Pagan (knee) will start in center field and bat leadoff in his return to the lineup Tuesday.
The 34-year-old will step in atop the order to face the Dodgers' Zack Greinke in his first game back after missing three weeks with a knee issue. It looks like Pagan may continue to lead off with Nori Aoki struggling, but Pagan has missed significant time with injuries in three straight seasons now and the Giants may opt to rest him somewhat frequently in hopes of avoiding a setback.
Tue Sep 1 201519:08Pagan (knee) activated from 15-day DL on Tuesday
Pagan (knee) was activated from the 15-day DL on Tuesday, Amy Gutierrez of CSN Bay Area reports.
Rather than bring Pagan back last week, the Giants opted to leave him down for a couple extra rehab games and wait until rosters expanded to activate the 34-year-old. Most of Pagan's at-bats this season have come out of the No. 3 spot, and it seems likely he will continue to bat there often, pushing Brandon Belt and Buster Posey down in the order.
Fri Aug 28 201519:39Pagan (knee) will not be activated until Sept
Pagan (knee) will not be activated until Sept. 1, Amy Gutierrez of CSN Bay Area reports.
The plan now calls for Pagan to play for High-A San Jose on Saturday and Sunday, then one more game with Triple-A Sacramento, before being activated to the team's expanded September roster. Injuries to others have left the Giants in a spot where the players that could be sent down to make room for Pagan are needed this weekend.
Thu Aug 27 201514:37Updating previous report
Updating a previous report, Pagan will not make it in time for Thursday's game against the Cubs. He will likely be activated prior to Friday's tilt against the Cardinals, Alex Pavlovic of CSN Bay Area reports.
Pagan wasn't able to leave Omaha late last night after Triple-A Sacramento's game there, so he took an early flight today instead. With the Giants and Cubs playing a day getaway game, he will not be in the clubhouse in time to be activated.

Pagan (knee) went 1-for-4 in his rehab appearance with Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday, and manager Bruce Bochy said that he will be activated before today's game against the Cubs.
Pagan wasn't doing much offensively prior to hitting the disabled list, but the Giants will welcome him due to their lack of outfield depth. Manager Bruce Bochy may choose to ease him back into the lineup, but when healthy, he should be the club's everyday center fielder.

Pagan (knee) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Fresno on Tuesday, Alex Pavlovic of CSN Bay Area reports.
Pagan was placed on the disabled list Aug. 11, and could miss around the minimum amount of time as a result of the injury. His rehab will begin Tuesday, but it might not last too long given his short stint on the disabled list. When healthy, he'll likely receive a large share of starts in center field.

Manager Bruce Bochy said that Pagan (knee) is ready for a rehab assignment, Alex Pavlovic of CSN Bay Area reports.
If his rehab stint goes smoothly, there is a chance he will make it back in the 15-day minimum after all. Pagan has dealt with nagging injuries all season, and it showed on the diamond (.258/.290/.308 with no homers and just six stolen bases). With the recent acquisition of Marlon Byrd, the Giants no longer have a reason to force an ailing Pagan into action, so he may have fully recovered from his knee problems. Owners - outside of very deep leagues - should see how he performs once he is activated before taking another chance on the veteran outfielder.

San Francisco Giants outfielder Angel Pagan, who was placed on the disabled list Aug. 11 with right patella tendinitis, will start a rehab assignment next week, according to CSN Bay Area.

Sat Aug 15 201522:01Pagan (knee) played catch Saturday
Pagan (knee) played catch Saturday, marking his first baseball activity since going on the disabled list, Alex Pavlovic of CSN Bay Area reports.
Pagan, who went on the disabled list Tuesday, will start his rehab process from the knee issues that has bothered him much of the season. He still has a ways to go, but took a step in the right direction Saturday.
Tue Aug 11 201519:25Angel Pagan: (Knee) Lands On DL
Pagan was placed on the 15-day on Tuesday with right patella tendinitis.
The 34-year-old has battled through knee issues for several months, but it's gotten to the point now where he'll require his first DL stint of the year. Pagan will be eligible to return Aug. 25, but the Giants could take their time and wait until rosters expand in September to activate him. Juan Perez was recalled in a corresponding move, but Gregor Blanco figures to see most of the time in center in Pagan's absence.
Tue Aug 11 201517:53Pagan not in lineup for Tuesday's game against Astros
Pagan is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Astros.
This appears to be part of manager Bruce Bochy's plan to rest the banged-up Pagan down the stretch. Pagan was originally slated to rest Sunday, but ended up playing almost an entire game after Nori Aoki was hit on the helmet by a pitch in the third inning. Bochy said he plans to rest Pagan one game per week moving forward.

San Francisco Giants outfielder Angel Pagan was placed on the 15-day disabled list on Tuesday with right patellar tendinitis, according to the team's official website. Pagan is eligible to return from the disabled list on Aug. 25, but he has been dealing with knee problems for several months and the team could elect to bring him along slowly.

Pagan (rest) entered Sunday's game after Nori Aoki was hit in the heat by a pitch. He went 0-for-3 with a pair of strikeouts.
Manager Bruce Bochy stated that he wanted to give Pagan a day of rest every week for the immediate future. His plan was thwarted Sunday after Nori Aoki was hit in the head by a fastball. Pagan has been struggling at the plate (.154 in 26 August at bats), and his aching knees may be the main culprit. The Giants lack of outfield depth has forced Bochy to play Pagan despite his recent struggles, but fantasy owners shouldn't be held to the same standard, as he has provided next to nothing from an offensive standpoint.
Sun Aug 9 201512:18As expected
As expected, Pagan (rest) is out of the lineup Sunday against the Cubs, MLB.com reports.
According to manager Bruce Bochy, Pagan will be rested roughly one day per week down the stretch as the Giants prepare for a potential postseason berth. Gregor Blanco will take over in center field for the afternoon contest.
