Wed May 17 202315:40Suns "Tired" Of Deandre Ayton
Phoenix Suns center Deandre Ayton might still be on the move in the offseason despite the team already parting ways with head coach Monty Williams, who didn't see eye to eye with the former first-overall pick. "The organizational discontent, impatience, eye-rolling, whatever with Ayton, go way beyond Monty Williams," Zach Lowe said in the latest episode of The Lowe Post podcast. "There's a lot of people in that organization that are tired with Deandre Ayton. You can see it in the game. You don't even have to be at the game to see the body language, the eye-rolling, the 'what is this guy doing?'" Ayton was recently linked with a move to Chicago.

Thu May 11 202319:29Deandre Ayton Officially Out For Game 6
Phoenix Suns center Deandre Ayton (rib) has been ruled out for Thursday's Game 6 versus the Denver Nuggets. The big man was questionable coming into this game due to a right rib contusion. It appears the issue is serious enough that Ayton will be forced to miss this elimination contest. His absence will result in more playing time for Jock Landale. He's averaging 6.3 points and 6.0 rebounds across 19.7 minutes in the last three games. Possibly, Bismack Biyombo gets more action as well, but Landale is the better fantasy option between the two.

Wed May 10 202321:49Deandre Ayton Uncertain For Game 6
Phoenix Suns center Deandre Ayton (rib) is listed as questionable for Thursday's Game 6 against the Los Angeles Lakers. The big man is dealing with a right rib contusion, which could be part of the reason he has struggled in this series. His absence would likely result in Jock Landale sliding into the starting five. The Suns could be in a tough spot without Ayton in a win-or-go-home matchup on Thursday.

Mon May 8 202310:13Deandre Ayton Remains Quiet In Game 4
Phoenix Suns center Deandre Ayton had another quiet outing in Sunday's Game 4 against Denver, amassing eight points and eight rebounds in a 129-124 win. Ayton impressed early on when he collected three offensive rebounds on the same possession in the opening minute, but he ended up simply cruising through the rest of the game and Jock Landale got plenty of burn in his place off the bench again. Ayton logged 27 minutes and shot 3-for-6 from the field, contributing one steal and one block on the defensive end. The former first-overall pick has now totaled just 12 points across the last two games in the playoffs. Landale has produced two more points in fewer minutes and has brought a lot of energy and hustle off the bench.

Sun Mar 26 202319:04Deandre Ayton Likely To Play Monday
Phoenix Suns center Deandre Ayton (hip) is likely to play Monday against the Utah Jazz. Ayton has missed the past four games but is now listed as probable for Monday night. Bismack Biyombo has filled in admirably and is coming off a 17-point, 13-rebound, five-block performance. However, Ayton's return should push Biyombo back to the bench where he will likely lose most of his short-lived fantasy value.

Thu Mar 23 202321:03Deandre Ayton To Miss Next Two Games
Phoenix Suns center Deandre Ayton (hip) has been ruled out for both games of the back-to-back set. The big man continues to deal with a right hip contusion, which will force him to miss Friday and Saturday's game. His next chance to play would be Monday against the Utah Jazz. However, it's uncertain if he'll be ready by then, so fantasy managers will have to check back for more updates. In the meantime, Bismack Biyombo will continue to start and be a viable streaming option with Ayton on the sideline.

Sun Mar 19 202300:13Deandre Ayton Out On Sunday
Phoenix Suns center Deandre Ayton (hip) is out for Sunday's matchup with OKC. He has a right hip contusion, although there hasn't been anything to indicate he's in line for an extended layoff. Nevertheless, Jock Landale and Bismack Biyombo will be popular streaming and DFS value options on Sunday. However, it's anyone's guess which one will start against the Thunder.

Sun Mar 5 202302:18Deandre Ayton Questionable On Sunday
Phoenix Suns center Deandre Ayton (knee) is questionable ahead of Sunday's matinee matchup versus Dallas. Ayton has a right knee contusion, so Jock Landale would presumably take his spot in the rotation if he's ruled out. The 27-year-old Aussie has averaged 8.3 points and shot 42.9% from deep in three starts this season. However, with Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Chris Paul on the floor, there's little room for anyone else to get involved.

LeBron James Injury Update

James injured his right foot during the third quarter of Sunday's comeback win over the Dallas Mavericks. It was a tense few seconds after the multi-time MVP clutched his foot after suffering what was deemed a "non-contact injury." The concern grew to greater heights after he was overheard saying, "I heard a pop." Situations like this are never good, as many were concerned that an Achilles tear could be the culprit.https://twitter.com/FanDuelTV/status/1630602449227595777?s=20Yet, after James gathered himself, he tightened his shoe and finished the game, totaling 26 points, eight rebounds, one block, and one steal. Head coach Darvin Ham appeared optimistic while speaking postgame, stating the 38-year-old was "good."However, that couldn't be further from the case, with The Athletic's Shams Charania reporting that James would "miss an extended period of time" because of the foot injury. Charania later added that the all-time scoring leader would "require multiple opinions."https://twitter.com/ShamsCharania/status/1630363560051187712?s=20

LeBron James' Season Recap

Despite James' advanced NBA age, he's still productive. In 47 appearances, he's averaged 29.5 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 6.9 assists. While his three-point percentage has regressed, that's never been his strong suit.James was also named an All-Star captain while recently passing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to become the NBA's all-time scoring leader.https://twitter.com/NBAonTNT/status/1623184801284104192?s=20That said, despite some high-level accomplishments, the year has been a rough one for the 2003 No. 1 overall pick. He's battled left foot soreness for nearly the entire season, so much so that he routinely carried some type of injury designation heading into almost all of his games over the last few months.... Wed Feb 15 202311:48Deandre Ayton Scores 29 Points In Win Against Sacramento
Phoenix Suns center Deandre Ayton recorded his 29th double-double on the year, logging 29 points, 11 rebounds, two assists, four steals and two blocks. In 37 minutes, the big man shot an efficient 13-for-17 from the field and 3-for-4 from the line. The 24-year-old enjoyed his outing against Sacramento Kings All-Star center Domantas Sabonis, who allowed Ayton to score 29 points in the 120-109 Phoenix win. Devin Booker returned to the lineup to lead the Suns with 32 points alongside Chris Paul, who recorded a whopping season-high 19 assists. With Kevin Durant (knee) sidelined through All-Star weekend, Josh Okogie has been in the starting lineup, recording 17-plus points in all three games in an average of 35.3 minutes. Okogie should be viewed as a viable streaming option in all formats for as long as Durant remains sidelined.

Fri Feb 10 202313:152023 NBA Trade Deadline Breakdown - Fantasy Basketball Impacts
The NBA trade deadline has officially come and gone and we had one of the most active deadlines in recent memory with some big stars being dealt. Kyrie, KD, and Westbrook are all heading to new teams and we have been covering those trades and their fantasy impacts here at RotoBaller. But there were plenty of other lesser-known players who were dealt in the last few days and I wanted to go through and make sure we don't overlook some of these trades as some of those deals may even have more fantasy impact than the big moves. So here are some other trades that went down and my two cents on the increase or decrease in value that we should expect from the players involved for the remainder of the 2022-2023 fantasy basketball season.

Moves That Matter

These are very much in order of how much they matter. Let's start with the Spurs sending their starting center back up North where he started his career.Jakob Poeltl to the RaptorsI am a huge Poeltl fan and was close to acquiring him on multiple teams before the deadline. It was a curious move by Toronto to be buyers instead of sellers at the deadline, but Poeltl gives them the presence at the five they have been lacking all season and allows Siakam to shift over and play PF where he belongs.Poeltl is no longer a shutdown candidate and has legit top-50 upside with his multi-category abilities. His departure also makes ... [More]
Thu Feb 9 202323:29Kevin Durant Traded to Suns - Fantasy Basketball Impact
As hectic as this year's NBA trade deadline has been, with 28 out of the 30 teams making at least one trade, early Thursday morning at 1:00 am, a blockbuster trade went down that not many expected. However, if you had read my previous article, you could have gotten a glimpse of the future thanks to my magic ball, as the first "potential trade" I wrote about was sending Kevin Durant to none other than the Pheonix Suns.Kevin Durant is undeniably a top-three player and arguably even the best in the NBA right now. It's not surprising to hear how stunned the NBA world was after seeing this trade, as the Suns sold a huge chunk of their future for the Nets superstar but were somehow saved from involving Deandre Ayton in the trade!Any average NBA fan knows how much of an impact future Hall of Famer Kevin Durant has on any team, but to emphasize just how much, check this out: The Suns went from odds of +1800 of winning the finals to +450 on Thursday morning after the huge trade, now only behind the Boston Celtics, who lead the race with their odds being +350.

Kevin Durant's Season Recap

Durant (knee) has been sidelined for over a month after getting hurt on January 8 against the Miami Heat and remains without a timetable to return to make his debut with the Suns. Before getting hurt, the 13-time All-Star was averaging 29.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 0.8 steals, 1.8 blocks, and 36 minutes in 39 appearances this season.
Wed Feb 8 202310:39Deandre Ayton Posts Big Double-Double In Win Over Brooklyn
Phoenix Suns center Deandre Ayton was a force in the paint and midrange on Tuesday night as they took down the Brooklyn Nets 116-112. The 24-year-old posted 35 points, 15 rebounds, and one steal on 14-for-18 shooting while adding 7-for-8 from the line. Ayton had every shot working for him both in the post and spotting up anywhere in the midrange. He also got plenty of easy dunks and layups off of Chris Paul's 12 assists. He has now cracked the top 70 in per-game value for category formats.

Tue Feb 7 202307:15Kyrie Irving Traded To Dallas - Fantasy Basketball Impact
Without a doubt, Kyrie Irving is arguably one of the most naturally gifted players in the National Basketball Association. He's a fantastic ball-handler and can get to the rim with ease. However, the former Duke Blue Devil's career has been surrounded by controversy, ultimately impacting his ability to win an MVP.The NBA trade deadline kicked off with a bang when Irving, who had demanded a trade out of Brooklyn, was traded to the Dallas Mavericks. NBA fans and fantasy managers are left wondering how things will play out.To keep close tabs on all of the news across the NBA, make sure to favorite or bookmark the RotoBaller Fantasy Basketball Newspage, or download the free RotoBaller fantasy basketball mobile app with push notification alerts on all the latest news.

Kyrie Irving's Season Recap

Irving got suspended for an antisemitic social media post, keeping him out of the lineup for eight games. But since then, the 30-year-old stayed out of the limelight, so most had assumed he finally turned things around. He's played well all season, averaging 27.1 points, 5.3 assists, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.0 steals in 40 appearances.https://twitter.com/ShamsCharania/status/1622324668047794177?s=20&t=NTffJ2tRvNpjAA7bddjYHQHe was also selected to the All-Star team for the eighth time in his career. However, things were apparently going too well, as Irving dropped a bombshell by requesting a trade. His wish was granted, as he was sent to Dallas in exchange for ... [More]
Sun Feb 5 202308:01Deandre Ayton Dominates Against Detroit
Phoenix Suns center Deandre Ayton did everything his heart desired against the Pistons on Saturday, leading all scorers with 31 points and pulling down a game-high 16 rebounds. He added a pair of assists to his line and blocked one shot as the Suns cruised to a 116-100 victory. Ayton missed only twice from the field with 15 shot attempts and finished 5-for-6 at the line. Detroit has struggled against centers all season, so this was a great matchup to exploit for Ayton. He will likely have a tougher time in the next game against Brooklyn, but Ayton has been playing very well lately and should still produce a solid line. The former first-overall pick has averaged 21.9 points and 12.9 rebounds across his last six appearances.

Fri Jan 27 202310:05Deandre Ayton Grabs 20 Boards In First Game Back
Phoenix Suns center Deandre Ayton returned from a three-game absence on Thursday and was a much-needed force on the glass despite the loss to the Dallas Mavericks. He posted 19 points, 20 rebounds, two assists, and two blocks on an uncharacteristic 6-for-20 shooting line. While the field goal percentage wasn't his best, he delivered some big-time traditional stats that are sure to help in all fantasy formats. In terms of fantasy basketball, he remains one of the most valuable centers, especially in dynasty or keeper leagues.

Thu Jan 26 202321:44Deandre Ayton Returning On Thursday
Phoenix Suns center Deandre Ayton (illness) will return to the court against the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday. The big man is back after missing the last three games due to a non-COVID related illness. His return means that Bismack Biyombo heads back to the second unit. He'll lose most of his streaming appeal with Ayton healthy again. Fantasy managers should double check their lineups and make sure Ayton is in there for Thursday.

Tue Jan 24 202319:26Deandre Ayton Officially Out Against Charlotte
Phoenix Suns center Deandre Ayton (illness) will sit out Tuesday's game against the Charlotte Hornets. Ayton was listed as doubtful to play in this one so this should not come as a surprise. Ayton will miss his third straight game due to the illness and people are speculating trade rumors with the trade deadline looming. Bismack Biyombo should continue to start, but Jock Landale should also see healthy minutes at the center position. Biyombo had a 12-point, 16-rebound performance in 29 minutes then followed it up with a four-point, three-rebound night. Biyombo holds more upside due to opportunity, but it's anyone's guess which center shows up on Tuesday.

Tue Jan 24 202316:12Deandre Ayton Doubtful To Suit Up On Tuesday
Phoenix Suns center Deandre Ayton (illness) did receive a slight upgrade as he was originally listed as out for the Tuesday night contest against the Charlotte Hornets. With that being said, not a lot of players end up seeing the court after receiving a doubtful tag. Ayton has missed the team's last two games and is in danger of missing his third in a row. If he does, in fact, remain sidelined on Tuesday, Bismack Biyombo will take over the starting spot again while Jock Landal and Dario Saric could see some minutes in relief.
