Wed Mar 9 202218:26Anfernee Simons Unavailable Versus Jazz
Portland Trail Blazers guard Anfernee Simons (knee) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Utah Jazz. This marks the second game in a row that Simons has missed due to a left knee issue. Brandon Williams put together a career game while starting in place of Simons during their last contest. He is certainly worth looking at as a streaming option for Wednesday. Possibly, Josh Hart has streaming value as well since he should get a boost without Simons available.

Tue Mar 8 202221:41Anfernee Simons Tagged As Questionable For Wednesday
Portland Trail Blazers guard Anfernee Simons (quad) is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Utah Jazz. He suffered a left quad contusion on Saturday and was forced to sit out of Monday's game because of it. Brandon Williams received the start and finished with 27 points in 34 minutes. He could very well be in for another start, assuming Simons sits again on Wednesday. Williams makes for an interesting streaming option if starting again. Also, Josh Hart would see a boost in value and could be worth looking at in deep formats.

Mon Mar 7 202209:37Anfernee Simons Ruled Out For Monday's Game
Portland Trail Blazers point guard Anfernee Simons (quad) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The 22-year-old is nursing a left quad contusion. The timing of the injury is unfortunate as Simons is coming off of one of his best games of the year. On Saturday against the Minnesota Timberwolves, he dropped 38 points while matching a season-high with nine three-pointers. Rookie Brandon Williams is someone well worthy of DFS consideration on Monday. He could see the first start of his NBA career in the game. He scored 21 points over 27 minutes on Saturday, going up against the same Timberwolves team he'll see on Monday. We could also see Keon Johnson, CJ Elleby or Ben McLemore take on point guard duties. All three guards should see ample playing time on Monday, though they are all mostly accustomed to playing on the wing.

Wed Jan 12 202218:51Anfernee Simons Will Miss Thursday’s Game
Portland Trail Blazers point guard Anfernee Simons (personal) has been ruled out for Thursday's contest against Denver. Portland is set to be significantly shorthanded in the backcourt with Damian Lillard (abdominal) and C.J. McCollum (lung) also unavailable. Dennis Smith Jr. stands to have enormous DFS appeal, while Jusuf Nurkic and Nassir Little can also be seen as upside scoring options due to the Blazers' widespread absences. Even with his absence Thursday, Simons has emerged as a season-long asset in any-sized format due to the announcement of abdominal surgery for Lillard, which will keep him sidelined for at least 6-8 weeks. Simons' next chance to take the floor comes Saturday vs. the Wizards.

Thu Dec 30 202120:03Anfernee Simons Enters COVID-19 Protocols
Portland Trail Blazers guard Anfernee Simons has entered the league's health and safety protocols. At first glance, the loss of Simons might not seem too significant. Although, he has been a consistent and capable option off the bench for Portland this season. His absence means Damian Lillard and Norman Powell are likely to take on extended playing time. Also, CJ Elleby could see more playing time off the bench, but wouldn't be worth a look in fantasy formats.

Fri Dec 3 202119:58Anfernee Simons Won't Play Saturday
Portland Trail Blazers guard Anfernee Simons (ankle) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Boston Celtics. He was seen leaving the arena in a boot after Thursday's contest. The hope is that Simons won't miss significant time especially with Damian Lillard (abdominal) sidelined as well. That means, Dennis Smith Jr. will be tasked with taking on a bigger role. He is not exactly a great fantasy option, but should see plenty of minutes. Smith is worth rostering as a streaming option while the Blazers are shorthanded.

Wed Nov 24 202120:11Anfernee Simons Earns Questionable Tag For Wednesday
Portland Trail Blazers point guard Anfernee Simons (illness) has been deemed questionable to play in Wednesday's contest against the Kings due to an illness. Simons has not yet missed a game this season, having become an integral member of the team's second unit while on pace for new career highs at 11.6 points per game and 45.1 percent shooting overall. Should Simons be forced to miss action Wednesday, Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum could see a slight uptick in minutes, while there would be more shots to go around within the second unit.

Fri Mar 5 202117:13Spud Webb knows a dunk contest can change someone's life
Spud Webb remembers getting on the bus after winning the NBA slam dunk contest 35 years ago and getting a quick piece of advice from his Atlanta teammate at the time, Doc Rivers. The message: Your life just changed forever. “He wasn’t joking,” Webb said. “Everywhere I go, even today, people are talking about it.” That’s what happens when a 5-foot-7 guy — a height that was perhaps generously listed — captures imaginations by winning the dunk contest, which was just in its third year then. Webb returns to the dunk contest on Sunday in Atlanta as one of the judges, when first-time competitors Anfernee Simons of the Portland Trail Blazers, Cassius Stanley of the Indiana Pacers and Obi Toppin of the New York Knicks compete for the title. They are not big NBA names, yet. By Sunday night, that might change. “Hopefully, these guys put on a show for everybody and leave them talking,” Webb said. “I guess that’s really what it’s all about. If people don’t believe in you, then you can go out and prove... [More]
