Anderson (oblique) played catch prior to Wednesday's game, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. "Cody feels really good. He's on a good path," manager Terry Francona said.
Oblique strains can be tricky to come back from but it sounds like Anderson is progressing well so far.
Sat Aug 8 201516:07Anderson moved to 15-day DL with left oblique strain on Saturday
Anderson was moved to the 15-day DL with a left oblique strain on Saturday.
Anderson went from allowing a total of three earned runs in his first four starts to allowing 20 in his last four, so a nagging oblique injury would help explain why he started struggling so quickly. No starter was activated opposite Anderson, so another move from Cleveland should be on the horizon. An off day Monday should give them flexibility in picking a starter.

Anderson was battered for six runs on five hits, walking one and striking out two over 2.2 innings, but escaped with a no-decision in Cleveland's 10-9 loss to Minnesota on Friday night.
The honeymoon may be nearing an end for Anderson who strung together four dominant starts before the league started to figure him out and his inability to miss bats became a serious issue. His ERA has now ballooned to 4.31, and recent indications suggest it could go higher. Pitch him in your fantasy rotation at your own risk.

Anderson (2-3) surrendered four runs (three earned) on six hits over 6.2 innings in Friday's loss to the Athletics. He struck out four and walked two.
Anderson's four strikeouts tied a career high, but it was a very nondescript outing for the rookie otherwise. The 24-year-old has hit a wall after allowing just three runs in his first four starts, as he's now surrendered fourteen earned runs in 15 innings during his last three appearances. Anderson sports a pitiful 3.57 K/9, and he's learning the hard way that it's hard to maintain success at the major league level when you're not missing any bats. Owners should try to stay away from the struggling rookie when he faces Minnesota in his next start Friday, as pretty much anyone else starting that day is a higher-upside alternative.

Anderson allowed seven runs on eight hits over 5.2 innings Monday against the Royals in his second loss. He walked two and struck out two.
After four dominant starts to open his big league career, Anderson's inability to miss bats has become an issue. Over his past two starts, Anderson has lasted just 8.1 innings and has allowed 18 hits against just three strikeouts. Anderson's ERA has jumped from 0.89 to 3.26 in that short stretch, and with just 14 strikeouts in 38.2 innings, Anderson's fantasy value is looking slimmer and slimmer by the start.

Anderson gave up a whopping 10 hits and four runs in only 2.2 innings Wednesday in Milwaukee.
Fortunately, he was able to avoid the loss thanks to some strong offense on the part of the Indians. Still, this was a predictable instance of Anderson's birds coming home to roost, as he entered play Wednesday with a ridiculous 0.89 ERA and 0.66 WHIP over his first four MLB starts despite having struck out only 11 batters in 30.1 innings. Even after this parade of hits, Anderson's BABIP is still a lucky .224 and his strand rate is still just under 90 percent, indicating that he's more than likely got further regression coming to him. He'll next start Monday against the first-place Royals.

Anderson (2-1) allowed one run on three hits while striking out one and walking two in 6.2 innings Thursday against the Astros.
Making his fourth major league start, Anderson allowed Hank Conger's leadoff homer in the third but little else. Since being called up from Triple-A Columbus on June 21, the rookie right-hander has given up three earned runs in 30.1 innings for a 0.89 ERA. The 24-year-old began the season at Double-A Akron and was promoted to Columbus after 10 starts. He made only three starts at Triple-A before getting the call to Cleveland, but has given the rotation an unexpected boost from the No. 5 spot.

Anderson was the hard-luck loser Saturday, tossing an eight-inning complete game and giving up just one run on six hits while striking out four.
Unfortunately for him and for the Indians, Jeff Locke was busy throwing eight shutout innings opposite Anderson. The rookie's 0.76 ERA through his first three major league starts is of course unsustainable, but anyone with shares in him will likely be content if he can just match his 3.03 FIP going forward. He'll next take the hill Thursday, at home to the Astros.

Anderson picked up his first major league win as he threw eight innings and allowed just one run on two hits with two strikeouts against no walks.
Anderson carried a perfect game through six innings, unbroken until a Grady Sizemore home run in the seventh. That's the only blemish in his 15.2-inning career thus far, the first 14 of which were scoreless. Anderson was dominant at Double-A and Triple-A this year before coming up, and with a 0.57 ERA and a 6:1 K:BB to open a career, there's a lot to like in the 24-year-old rookie.

Anderson will have his next start pushed back to Monday.
Anderson was scheduled to start Saturday's game, but pouring rain caused it to be postponed. Rather than using Anderson in Sunday's double header, the Indians are expected to use Trevor Bauer and Toru Murata as the starters.

Anderson won't make his scheduled start Saturday as the Indians' game against Baltimore was postponed due to rain, Joe Reedy of Fox Sports reports.
Anderson had a stellar debut last Sunday, throwing 7.2 innings of shutout ball against the Rays. He'll have to wait another day to make his second start as he'll likely be on the hill for one game of Sunday's double-header.

Anderson pitched a gem on Sunday as he threw 7.2 scoreless innings, giving up just six hits while walking one and striking out four against Tampa Bay.
Anderson earned the no-decision in what would eventually be a 1-0 victory of the Rays. After being called up to replace veteran Shaun Marcum, Anderson looked comfortable from the first pitch. If this is any sign of things to come, Anderson will be snatched up quickly after round two, so he should definitely be on your radar.
Sun Jun 21 201510:04Anderson recalled from Triple-A Columbus
Anderson has been recalled from Triple-A Columbus, MLB.com's Jordan Bastian reports.
Anderson had already been announced as Sunday's starter, so there are no surprises here. In fact, the Indians expect Anderson to remain in the rotation beyond Sunday, taking the rotation spot of Shaun Marcum, who was designated for assignment earlier this week. The right-handed Anderson owns a combined 1.89 ERA and 1.05 WHIP between Double-A and Triple-A ball this season, but only time will tell if his stuff is good enough to compete at the highest level.
Fri Jun 19 201516:40Anderson will be recalled to join Indians' rotation Sunday
Anderson will be recalled to join the Indians' rotation Sunday, MLB.com's Jordan Bastian reports.
This is not a spot start, according to manager Terry Francona, as Anderson will remain in the rotation following Sunday's start against the Rays. Anderson has a 2.33 ERA in three starts at Triple-A and had a 1.69 ERA in nine starts at Double-A earlier this season. He is not a huge strikeout pitcher, but he did get 18 strikeouts in 19.1 innings at Triple-A, so he won't be a complete zero in that category. Still, until Anderson proves he can replicate his minor league success against big league hitters, he should be treated with caution.

Anderson is expected to be called up from Triple-A Columbus and make a start for the Indians on Sunday, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
The Indians are a little short on possible rotation fill-ins with T.J. House on the DL at Triple-A with a sore shoulder and Zach McAllister having success in a relief role for the Indians but it's unclear how long Anderson would stick as the team's fifth starter. He's 1-1 with a 3.60 ERA in three starts at Triple-A after starting the season at Double-A Akron (3-2, 3.89 ERA)
