OF Ryan Rua, hit his third home run in the seventh inning, a game-tying blast over the wall in left-center field. It was special home run for Rua, who was born and grew up in Amherst, Ohio, which is 30 miles west of Cleveland, and attended Lake Erie College, which is about 30 miles east of Cleveland. Prior to this series Rua had never played a game against Cleveland.

OF Ryan Rua hit his first homer in 36 at bats this season after showing plenty power potential. Rua had a 32-homer season in the minors in 2013 and hit 20 homers splitting time between Double-A, Triple-A and the Rangers in 2014. He hit 10 homers last season while battling foot injuries.

OF Ryan Rua had seven hits in his previous seven at-bats over two games before going 1-for-2 Tuesday against the A's. He was the Rangers' Opening Day left fielder last season before injuries limited him over much of the campaign.Manager Jeff Banister was peppered with questions about what Rua's role could be this year. "Let's just let him continue to compete right now and we'll make those decisions when they're appropriate," Banister said after the game.

Rua was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock and will start in left field and hit eighth Saturday in Oakland, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram's Stefan Stevenson reports.
Rua will share time in left field with Will Venable and Joey Gallo down the stretch, but he is unlikely to do much from a fantasy perspective.
Sat Aug 8 201513:27Rua optioned to Triple-A Round Rock
Rua has been optioned to Triple-A Round Rock, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
With Mike Napoli being added to the active roster ahead of Saturday's game, Rua was the odd-man out and will be sent down to Triple-A. Rua started just one game this month, going 0-for-3 on Wednesday against the Astros.
Thu Jul 2 201506:53Rua 1-3 with second homer of year Wednesday in Baltimore
Rua went 1-for-3 with his second homer of the year Wednesday in Baltimore.
Rua enjoyed fairly regular playing time at first following his activation from the disabled list, but he still hasn't recorded a multi-hit game since returning June 19 and is sitting on an ugly .191 average. Both his homers have come against lefties, but Rua has just two other hits in 22 at-bats against southpaws this year. The Rangers may keep using him when they face left-handed pitching, but he doesn't have very high upside and could be displaced from the roster by Delino DeShields Jr. soon.

Rua launched his first home run of the season in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the White Sox.
Rua started each game of the weekend series against Chicago, who threw three left-handed starters against the Rangers' lefy-heavy lineup. As a righty with some power, Rua will see time against lefties for as long as Delino DeShields is out of the lineup but is batting just .207 on the season and carries little fantasy value at the moment.
Fri Jun 19 201517:28Rua (ankle) activated from 60-day disabled list Friday
Rua (ankle) was activated from the 60-day disabled list Friday, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Rua landed on the disabled list back in April after suffering a right ankle sprain. What was initially a 15-day designation was changed to 60-days to clear room on the 40-man roster. The Rangers have yet to release their lineup for Friday's tilt against the White Sox, but Rua would be facing Chris Sale if he's penciled into the order.

Rua (ankle) could come off the DL this weekend with Texas set to square off against three left-handed starters, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Rua has struggled a bit during his rehab assignment at Triple-A Round Rock, but the potential for an extra right-handed bat against lefty pitching has Texas considering an activation regardless.

Rua (ankle) is expected to remain at Triple-A Round Rock once he's formally activated from the 60-day DL, Stefan Stevenson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
A fully healthy Rua was on the 25-man roster bubble heading into the season, so it makes sense for the Rangers to give him some additional time in the minors to get back up to full speed. He's gone 4-for-17 at the dish during his first five games of the rehab assignment.

Rua (ankle) has gone 4-for-15 (.267) with a home run and three RBI since beginning a rehab assignment June 4.
Rua has appeared in five games with Triple-A Round Rock and was able to play each of the last two days, so it should not be long before he is activated from the disabled list. He will likely factor into the outfield mix for the Rangers when he is ready to go.

Rua (ankle) will begin a rehab assignment Wednesday with Triple-A Round Rock, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram's Jeff Wilson reports.
When healthy, the Rangers have the outfield spots covered, so Rua will likely find himself in a reserve role later this season. That said, with veterans and oft-injured players like Josh Hamilton and Shin-Soo Choo manning the corner spots, an injury to one or both seems likely before the season's out.
Mon Jun 1 201509:28Rua (ankle) could begin rehab assignment later this week
Rua (ankle) could begin a rehab assignment later this week, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Rua's role upon his return will be reduced with the recent addition of Josh Hamilton to the outfield, but he could see some time in a utility role at the corner infield spots in addition to spot duty in left field.
Tue May 5 201514:49Rua (ankle) moved to 60-day disabled list Tuesday
Rua (ankle) was moved to the 60-day disabled list Tuesday, John Blake of Rangers.com reports.
The Rangers wanted a spot on the 40-man roster to claim pitcher Michael Kickham off waivers from the Mariners. It was previously believed that Rua might return at some point in May, but he now won't be eligible until early-to-mid June.

Rua (ankle) has a small fracture in his right heel and will wear a boot for the next three weeks, Stefan Stevenson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Rua has also been diagnosed with a severe ankle sprain, so it appears the injury may have been more serious than initially anticipated. At this point it seems as though the 24-year-old will be out of game action for at least another month, if not longer. Jake Smolinski should be in line to get the majority of the starts in that span.
Mon Apr 13 201516:48Rua (ankle) will wear boot on right foot for 2-to-3 weeks
Rua (ankle) will wear a boot on his right foot for 2-to-3 weeks, Stefan Stevenson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
The news seemingly restricts Rua from participating in baseball activities until at least the end of April. The 25-year-old will likely need some time after shedding the boot, so it's possible he'll be out until mid-May. Jake Smolinski figures to see the bulk of the action in left field in his absence.
Sat Apr 11 201516:21Ryan Rua: (Ankle) To 15-Day DL
Rua was placed on the 15-day disabled list Saturday.
This was to be expected after general manager Jon Daniels' comments after Friday's game. The injury is believed to be an ankle sprain, which will force Rua to miss most, if not all of April. Jake Smolinski figures to see a good chunk of the starts in left field while Rua is out.
