Thu Aug 4 202213:44Brandon Drury Hits Grand Slam In Padres Debut
San Diego Padres infielder Brandon Drury made his team debut on Wednesday, and he started out with a bang, launching a first-inning grand slam off Colorado Rockies starting pitcher Chad Kuhl in a 9-1 victory. Drury figures to receive steady playing time for San Diego, though it could come all over the diamond in a much deeper lineup than his old Reds team had. He stands to receive a bit of a fantasy boost in his new setup, but his .864 OPS, 21 homers, 63 runs scored, and 63 RBI is already an excellent pace.

Wed Aug 3 202218:10Brandon Drury To Serve As Designated Hitter
San Diego Padres infielder Brandon Drury is in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Colorado Rockies. The veteran slugger was acquired by the Padres at the trade deadline on Tuesday. Although, the acquisition of Drury was overshadowed by the addition of Juan Soto and Josh Bell. Fantasy managers shouldn't overlook the impact that Drury can make in the lineup. He's hitting .274 with 20 home runs and 59 RBI through 92 games. Drury will serve as the designated hitter and bat sixth versus right-hander Chad Kuhl on Wednesday. Fantasy managers will likely see Drury's value drop in San Diego, but he'll be starting for this game.

Tue Aug 2 202216:37Padres Acquire Brandon Drury From The Reds
The San Diego Padres are acquiring infielder Brandon Drury from the Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday, according to sources. It's unclear what the Padres sent to the Reds in exchange. Drury has seen the vast majority of his playing time in Cincinnati this year on the infield, mainly at the hot corner, but he has experience in the outfield as well. The 29-year-old has had a late-career resurgence in 2022, hitting .274/.335/.520 with a career-high 20 home runs, 59 RBI, 62 runs scored and two stolen bases in 385 plate appearances and 92 games. The move to San Diego isn't good news at all for Drury's fantasy value the rest of the way, as he'll be blocked at third by Manny Machado and at second base by Jake Cronenworth, but perhaps he'll see semi-regular at-bats in the outfield, where he has some experience as well.

Mon Aug 1 202211:46Brandon Drury Not Certain To Be Traded
Cincinnati Reds infielder Brandon Drury, who is drawing interest from multiple teams at the trade deadline, isn't certain to be traded this summer. The Reds might be interested in exploring an extension with Drury, who turns 30 on Aug. 21 and hit his career-high 20th home run as a pinch-hitter on Sunday. The Reds could also trade him and re-sign him as a free agent in the offseason, too. But if they deal him, they would lose their right to negotiate with him exclusively until the market opens. The 29-year-old is having a late-career resurgence in Cincinnati in 2022, hitting .275/.336/.523 with an .859 OPS, 20 round-trippers, 59 RBI, 62 runs scored and two stolen bases in 381 plate appearances over 91 games.

Sun Jul 31 202219:29Brandon Drury Has Hot Trade Market
Cincinnati Reds third baseman Brandon Drury has a surprisingly hot trade market heading into the deadline. The 29-year-old is having a breakout year with the Reds. Drury is slashing .275/.336/.523 with 20 homers and 59 RBI in 380 plate appearances. As of right now, the Dodgers, Mariners, and Braves are all reportedly interested in Drury. He will hit free agency at the end of the season, so there is no reason for the Reds to keep him. Fantasy managers should expect Drury to be moved before the trade deadline ends. Although, his fantasy value could take a hit if he lands on a team where he doesn't get regular at-bats anymore.

Sun Jul 31 202211:15Brandon Drury On The Bench Against Orioles
Cincinnati Reds third baseman Brandon Drury is not in the starting lineup on Sunday against the Baltimore Orioles. Drury will take a normal day of rest after going 8-for-36 (.222) with a homer, six RBI and five runs scored in nine games since the All-Star break. On the season, he's hitting .272/.332/.513 with an .845 OPS, 19 home runs, 58 RBI, 61 runs scored and two stolen bases in 345 at-bats. Drury is a prime trade candidate with the deadline coming on Aug. 2. Donovan Solano is starting at third base on Sunday and is hitting second against Orioles right-hander Austin Voth. Solano will be a DFS sleeper worth considering. He's gone 10-for-23 (.435) with a homer and seven RBI in seven games over the last two weeks.

Thu Jun 9 202211:05Brandon Drury Returns Thursday
Cincinnati Reds third baseman Brandon Drury (Achilles) is back at third base and is hitting second on Thursday against Arizona Diamondbacks right-hander Zach Davies. Drury was scratched from Wednesday's starting lineup with right Achilles soreness, but it obviously wasn't very serious, as he's back in there a day later. The 29-year-old has been displaying plenty of power this year with the Reds, slugging 11 home runs and driving in 30 in 190 plate appearances over 47 games. In the last week, Drury has gone 12-for-27 (.444) with three home runs, four RBI and a stolen base. Overall, he's hitting .266/.326/.515 with an .841 OPS. Continue to ride Drury's hot streak.

Wed Jun 8 202218:30Brandon Drury Scratched On Wednesday
Cincinnati Reds third baseman Brandon Drury (Achilles) has been scratched from Wednesday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The hope is that this isn't the type of injury that is going to sideline Drury for an extended period of time. This season, Drury is slashing .266/.326/.514 with 11 homers and 30 RBI in 47 games. Matt Reynolds will cover third base and bat eighth versus righty Merrill Kelly on Wednesday. Fantasy managers should make sure to adjust their lineups.

Mon May 23 202211:42Tyler Mahle, Brandon Drury Back From Restricted List
The Cincinnati Reds reinstated right-handers Tyler Mahle and Joel Kuhnel, infielder Brandon Drury and outfielder Albert Almora Jr. from the restricted list on Monday and optioned right-hander Graham Ashcraft, infielder Taylor Motter and outfielder Aristides Aquino to Triple-A Louisville in corresponding moves. Catcher Sandy Leon also returned to Louisville from the taxi squad. Mahle, Kuhnel, Drury and Almora were unable to travel to Canada for the team's weekend series against the Toronto Blue Jays due to COVID-19 restrictions, but they'll rejoin the team for a series against the Chicago Cubs that starts on Monday. Mahle is expected to return to the mound on Tuesday against Chicago, and he'll also line up to start Sunday against the San Francisco Giants.

Fri May 20 202214:39Tyler Mahle, Brandon Drury Placed On Restricted List
The Cincinnati Reds placed right-handers Tyler Mahle and Joel Kuhnel, infielder Brandon Drury and outfielder Albert Almora Jr. on the restricted list on Friday ahead of their weekend series in Toronto against the Blue Jays. Players must be vaccinated for COVID-19 to enter Canada. Mahle wasn't scheduled to pitch in this series anyway, so fantasy managers don't need to worry about him. The 27-year-old right-hander should be back on the roster to make his next start early next week against the Chicago Cubs. Infielders Matt Reynolds and Alejo Lopez should see more playing time this weekend against the Blue Jays with Drury unavailable to play in all three games.

Sun Apr 3 202217:53Brandon Drury Exits After Being Hit By Pitch
Cincinnati Reds shortstop/third baseman Brandon Drury (knee) exited Sunday's spring game after being hit in the knee by a pitch. We'll see shortly if the injury is significant enough to cost him time with Spring Training winding down. The 29-year-old is competing for a backup role with the team as Mike Moustakas is slotted in at third base with Kyle Farmer at shortstop. Drury has had a nice spring so far, slashing .308/.438/.692 with one home run and two doubles over 16 plate appearances. This is his first year in the Reds organization after he spent the 2021 campaign with the New York Mets.

Mon Mar 21 202215:55Brandon Drury Signs With Reds
The Cincinnati Reds signed free-agent third baseman Brandon Drury to an undisclosed deal on Monday. Drury hit .274 in 84 major league at-bats last year in 51 games for the New York Mets, hitting four home runs while driving in 14. He was a starter for the Toronto Blue Jays as recently as 2019 and can play third base, second base and some outfield. The 29-year-old will serve in a super-utility role for the Reds if he makes the team out of spring training. In seven years in the big leagues, Drury has a .249/.296/.415 slash line with 51 home runs, 190 RBI and 161 runs scored in 1,708 plate appearances over 507 games.

Sun Aug 1 202100:20Brandon Drury Delivers Game-Winner
New York Mets utility man Brandon Drury has been one of the hottest hitters in baseball over the last week. He's gone 11-for-15 with two homers, five runs, and five RBI in the seven games since his most recent call-up, which comes out to a whopping 2.133 OPS. On Saturday, Drury was given the start in right field and went 2-for-4 with a double and a walk-off RBI single against the Cincinnati Reds to give the Mets the game in the bottom of the 10th inning. Fantasy managers should pay attention to how he's used going forward, as a regular spot in the starting lineup would make him worth a look, though this appears unlikely now that Javier Baez has joined the team.

CLEVELAND (AP) — Franmil Reyes homered twice, the first a second-inning blast that bounced out of Progressive Field and almost dinged a bicyclist pedaling on a street, and the Cleveland Indians beat the St. Louis Cardinals 7-2 on Wednesday. The ball traveled an estimated 446 feet. Reyes wasn’t done. He finished off Cleveland’s three-homer inning in the third with his 19th of the season, a 421-foot drive to center.
