Thu Sep 13 201216:26Leandro Barbosa talks, Suns don't listen
Leandro Barbosa reportedly had a meeting with the Suns, but they are not said to be pursuing the free agent shooting guard.
Barbosa had some good years in Phoenix but is now nearing the end of his career. He's very likely to play in the NBA this season, but where he ends up is anyone's guess.

Thu Sep 13 201209:32Barbosa, Lakers cooled on contract talks
Leandro Barbosa's contract discussions with the Lakers "cooled" after Los Angeles signed Jodie Meeks.
Just as we suspected. The Lakers used part of the mini-midlevel exception to sign Meeks, and the team wouldn't have done that if they weren't going to give him minutes. There just doesn't seem to be room on the Lakers roster for Barbosa despite the fact that he insists Steve Nash has been "recruiting him".

Wed Sep 12 201208:28Report: Nets deny interest in Leandro Barbosa
The Nets do not have "serious interest" in unrestricted FA Leandro Barbosa.
Howard Beck of the NY Times called Barbosa's signing unlikely, and we'd agree with that assessment. There just doesn't seem to be any room for Barbosa on the Brooklyn roster.

Tue Sep 11 201219:21Barbosa is talking to Lakers, Nets and Suns
Free agent Leandro Barbosa has been talking to the Nets, Lakers and Suns.
Barbosa is one of the best players left in the free agent pool and he would make sense for any of those teams. He would certainly have the most value with Phoenix since they don't have a roster loaded with talent like the Lakers and Nets. The Brazilian has hit 1.4 threes per game in his career, so he might have some fantasy value left in the tank.

Tue Aug 7 201221:36Scottt likes Barbosa for Lakers
NBA TV's Dennis Scott said that he feels Leandro Barbosa would be a "perfect combination" with Steve Nash for the Lakers in the upcoming season.
The Lakers could use the extra depth at guard and Barbosa's skills do in fact fit the bill. His career 3-point percentage is 39.1 and his open-court speed would help Nash and the Lakers in transition. He would likely be their third guard and should flirt with the 19.8 MPG he played last year with the Pacers. The Cavs are also reportedly interested in acquiring the Brazilian.

Fri Aug 3 201210:10Leandro Barbosa struggling for Brazilian team
Leandro Barbosa has struggled for Brazil, making just 3-of-16 3-point shots in the Olympics through three games.
Barbosa, an unrestricted free agent, has not received a ton of interest to date, but we learned that the Lakers may be interested in his services. However, he's not doing himself many favors with his play, shooting just 42.5 percent overall from the field and really struggling from distance. Barbosa has scored just 39 points on 40 total shots.

Thu Aug 2 201212:21Report: Lakers interested in Leandro Barbosa
ESPN's Marc Stein is "hearing out of (the) Brazil camp" that the Lakers "have interest" in unrestricted FA Leandro Barbosa.
Barbosa's free agent market has been rather dry to date, and he's going to have to take a pay cut no matter where he lands. The Lakers still need a backup shooting guard behind Kobe Bryant, but Barbosa doesn't offer a lot of upside at this point in his career. He averaged 8.9 points and 1.1 treys on 39.9 percent shooting after joining the Pacers last season, but he did shoot 42.4 percent from behind the 3-point line.

Wed Aug 1 201217:15Barbosa interested in talking to Cavs
According to several sources close to Leandro Barbosa, he'd be more than willing to talk with the Cavs about a potential role with Cleveland this season.
Barbosa, a 29-year old combo guard, averaged 12.2 points in 66 games split between Indiana and Toronto last season. Barbosa has always been an instant offense type of player and although he is interested in Cleveland and could provide a nice scoring option off the bench for the Cavs, it is yet to be determined if the feeling is mutual.

Mon Jul 30 201209:37Leandro Barbosa seeking multi-year deal?
Unrestricted FA Leandro Barbosa is reportedly seeking a multi-year deal.
That would help to explain why his market has been so dry to date. If true, Barbosa is probably going to be waiting a while for any team to offer him his preference. Barbosa averaged 8.9 points and 1.1 treys on just 39.9 percent shooting after being traded to the Pacers last season.

Wed Jun 6 201210:24Barbosa not expected back with Pacers?
The Indianapolis Star writes that it would be a "surprise" if unrestricted free agent Leandro Barbosa is re-signed.
Barbosa averaged 8.9 points, 0.9 steals and 1.1 treys in 20 minutes per game after arriving at the trade deadline, but he shot just 39.9 percent from the floor. Projecting as instant offense off the bench regardless of where he lands, Barbosa will certainly draw interest on the open market.

Thu May 3 201208:11Leandro Barbosa hobbled by sprained ankle
Leandro Barbosa is still bothered by a sprained left ankle.
Barbosa suffered the injury late in the regular season, and he's been playing on it through the first three games of the first round. However, Barbosa is struggling with his shot (7-of-21) and is only averaging 6.0 points per game. "It's impacting me," he admitted. It's preventing Barbosa from cutting on the court the way he wants to, but there is nothing to suggest he's in danger of missing any time.

Sat Apr 28 201222:04Barbosa, Pacers bench struggle in Game 1
Leandro Barbosa played through his ankle injury during Indiana's Game 1 loss on Saturday, scoring three points with one assist in 20 minutes.
LB wasn't very sharp, which is understandable, but his benchmates don't have the same excuse -- as a unit, Indy's bench scored a combined 14 points on 6-of-24 shooting. Darren Collison was among those who struggled, shooting 1-of-7 (with four rebounds and five assists) in 22 minutes.

Sat Apr 28 201209:56Leandro Barbosa (ankle) game-time on Sat.
Leandro Barbosa (sprained left ankle) is considered a game-time decision for Saturday's season-opener vs. the Pacers.
LB sat out the Pacers' season finale but it's never easy to gauge the severity of injuries in the final week -- obviously this one was legitimate. If he misses any playoff games, expect to see more from Dahntay Jones.

Fri Apr 27 201215:41Leandro Barbosa (ankle) iffy for Pacers game
Leandro Barbosa may miss the Pacers' first playoff game if his ankle injury does not get better quickly.
Barbosa sat out the season finale against Chicago on Wednesday and has been limited in practice the past two days because the injury to his left ankle. Dahntay Jones will likely get a majority of Barbosa's minutes if he's unable to play.

Wed Apr 25 201223:17Leandro Barbosa rests sprained left ankle
Leandro Barbosa did not play on Wednesday due to a sprained left ankle.
The Pacers' regular season ended on Wednesday, and presumably Barbosa was just resting as a precaution. He had 13 points and nine rebounds on Monday, and we're considering him probable for Game 1 of the playoffs.

Mon Apr 23 201222:31Barbosa scores 13 points with nine boards
Leandro Barbosa scored 13 points on 4-of-11 shooting (including a three) with nine rebounds, two assists, and four steals in 29 minutes off the bench on Monday.
Barbosa's numbers are fluky in the rebounding and steals categories, but with Danny Granger (knee) already ruled out for Wednesday he'll have a good shot at another solid outing. The rotation is supposed to be fairly normal for that game, but there will be enough minutes shaved off of key guys' loads that Barbosa is still a good bet for 25 minutes or more.

Wed Apr 4 201221:46Barbosa playing well for Pacers
Leandro Barbosa had 14 points, two steals and two 3-pointers on 6-of-10 shooting in 15 minutes of Wednesday's win.
He's now had 10, 12 and 14 points in each of his last three games, and while 16 points in the next one makes sense, it's tough to rely on a guy who usually plays less than 20 minutes per night.

Tue Mar 27 201203:24Barbosa scores 14 points with three treys
Leandro Barbosa scored 14 points off the bench on Monday, hitting 5-of-11 shots (including three treys) with just one rebound to his credit, otherwise.
Barbosa played 15 minutes off the bench, which is his usual amount, and he'll need to do this and more before owners should take notice.

Thu Mar 22 201221:35Barbosa plays 15 minutes vs. Wizards
Leandro Barbosa played just 15 minutes on Thursday against the Wizards, scoring two points on 1-of-4 shooting with one assist and three turnovers.
There has been some concern that Barbosa would cut into Paul George's time, but it's not a given that Barbosa gets anything but the 15-18 minutes we've seen thus far.
