Thu Feb 14 201310:36Ainge: We'd love to have Barbosa next year
Danny Ainge said that the Celtics are interested in bringing back Leandro Barbosa next season.
Ainge could just be being nice because Barbosa will have to have a miraculous recovery to be ready for next season. Regardless, Barbosa will be an unrestricted free agent after the season and will have to prove to every team that his surgically-repaired knee is healthy.

Wed Feb 13 201312:33Leandro Barbosa has MCL damage as well
Leandro Barbosa, who is out for the season with a torn ACL, also has damage to his MCL and will have to wait one month before surgery.
Barbosa's torn ACL was bad enough, but the fact that he has MCL damage and has to wait a month before surgery only complicates his rehab after surgery. He's going to have to prove to NBA teams that he's healthy and is unlikely to be ready for the start of next year.

Wed Feb 13 201308:19Report: Celtics could release Leandro Barbosa
The Celtics could release Leandro Barbosa in order to create an open roster spot.
Barbosa is out for the season with a torn ACL and is not expected to return to the Celtics after signing a one-year deal, so it's possible the club waives him in order to add a healthy body.

Tue Feb 12 201315:45Leandro Barbosa done for season with torn ACL
Leandro Barbosa is out for the season due to an ACL tear.
Barbosa's playing time and role were on the rise thanks to Rajon Rondo's ACL tear. Now he's facing 9-12 months of rehab at age 30. Barbosa first season in Boston can only be called a flop as he averaged a career-low 5.2 points while playing just 12.5 minutes per game. He'll hit the free-agent market this summer with plenty of red flags.

Tue Feb 12 201310:47Report: Celtics fear Barbosa has torn ACL
Leandro Barbosa is currently undergoing tests on his injured knee, but sources told the Boston Herald that the Celtics fear Barbosa has a torn ACL.
Brutal. Rajon Rondo is already out with a torn ACL, and Jared Sullinger is out for the season after back surgery. Assuming Barbosa is out for the year, and that's looking like it is very much the case, we'd expect the Celtics to explore their options in bringing in another guard. For now, Avery Bradley, Courtney Lee and Jason Terry will have their hands full.

Mon Feb 11 201322:06Leandro Barbosa (knee) to have an MRI Tuesday
Leandon Barbosa will have an MRI on his left knee on Tuesday.
There's talk of Barbosa being out for the year and all signs point to that being the case. While the MRI will give a conclusive diagnosis, the Celtics training staff can do some preliminary tests and they may believe he suffered ligament damage. If you own LB and there's anything remotely desirable on the wire, we'd cut him since a day-to-day prognosis is highly unlikely. Avery Bradley, Jason Terry and Courtney Lee will all gain value.

Mon Feb 11 201320:57Leandro Barbosa carried off court with injury
Leandro Barbosa suffered a left knee injury in the third quarter of Monday's game and was carried to the locker room.
Not good. The trainer was looking at his left knee and Barbosa couldn't put any weight on it. Boston has been hit with the injury bug badly and Barbosa could be out for a long time. Avery Bradley, Jason Terry and Courtney Lee should all gain some value with LB out.

Wed Jan 30 201323:07Leandro Barbosa quiet in win Wednesday
Leandro Barbosa played just 15 minutes in Wednesday's win over Sacramento, scoring seven points with two assists and one 3-pointer.
It wasn't a good start and Barbosa hasn't really been in Doc Rivers' good graces. He looks to be the least value of any of the Boston guards.

Mon Jan 28 201308:57Barbosa's minutes to rise w/ Rajon Rondo out
Leandro Barbosa's minutes are expected to rise with Rajon Rondo out for the season with a torn ACL.
Doc Rivers likes Barbosa's scoring ability, and Barbosa played 30 minutes on Sunday without Rondo on the floor. He finished with nine points, three boards, four assists, a steal and a 3-pointer, so owners looking for help off the waiver wire should give Barbosa a look.

Sun Jan 27 201316:55Leandro Barbosa plays 30 minutes vs. Miami
Leandro Barbosa played 30 minutes against the Heat on Sunday and scored nine points with three rebounds, four assists, one steal and one 3-pointer.
He led the guards with his four assists and was called upon by Doc Rivers. In the post-game conference, Doc said he went with Barbosa more as the game progress and added he had "no idea" how he's going to handle replacing Rondo. The Celtics rank 20th in pace and 21st in offensive efficiency, but their identity is going to change a bunch and the up-tempo Barbosa could be a part of that. It's open season on adding Celtics players, so he's is worth a look in most leagues.

Sat Jan 19 201309:34Ainge says Barbosa never requested trade
Danny Ainge said Friday that Leandro Barbosa never requested a trade and Ainge considers the matter closed.
Barbosa recently denied a Brazilian report in which he was quoted as saying he wanted out of Boston and wasn't getting enough playing time. Barbosa started Friday night but scored just five points to go along with three rebounds, one assist and one steal. He's been a non-factor all season and hopefully this whole situation is over and done with.

Thu Jan 17 201315:22Leandro Barbosa denies requesting a trade
Leandro Barbosa on Thursday vehemently denied a report that he requested a trade from the Celtics.
Barbosa denied the report, which stemmed from an interview with ESPN.br in Barbosa's native country of Brazil, despite being shown both the translation and the original version. "No, I want to play. I want to be here. That's it," he said Thursday. Barbosa, who has been a non-factor all season, said he knew coming to Boston there would be uneven playing time and denied he wants to leave to play closer to home.

Thu Jan 17 201313:56Report: Leandro Barbosa requests trade
Leandro Barbosa has reportedly requested a trade from the Celtics.
It sounds more like he's requested his release than a trade as he wants to play internationally and be close to his family. Barbosa has been an utter non-factor for the Celtics this season.

Mon Dec 31 201201:28Barbosa plays four minutes in return
Leandro Barbosa scored two points in four minutes in his return from a personal absence on Sunday.
Rajon Rondo (hip) was active and Jason Terry's shot was falling, so as usual there was no need for Barbosa to play many minutes.

Sun Dec 30 201218:58Leandro Barbosa warming up in Sacramento
Leandro Barbosa is with the team and is warming up to play against the Kings.
The Celtics might need him with Rajon Rondo (hip) questionable. Barbosa didn't start when Rondo was suspended and isn't a very attractive spot-start player since he's been inactive for 11 days.

Sat Dec 29 201214:04Leandro Barbosa won't play Saturday night
Leandro Barbosa (personal) will rejoin the Celtics on Saturday but won't arrive in time to play against the Warriors.
Barbosa has been home with his family, but the news does little for fantasy owners. A crowded Celtics backcourt and a limited role make him a non-factor.

Thu Dec 27 201222:01Leandro Barbosa will dress for Saturday
Leandro Barbosa (personal) will be back with the Celtics for Saturday's game against the Warriors.
He has been home with his family and it was unclear how many more games he was going to miss. Barbosa played just 7.5 minutes per game in his four games before leaving the team and his no fantasy value.

Thu Dec 27 201218:47Leandro Barbosa returning to Boston on Friday
Leandro Barbosa (personal) says he'll return to Boston on Friday, but it's uncertain if he'll head west to join the Celtics.
Barbosa had been home in Brazil tending to his family. His return will help the Celtics' backcourt depth, but he has very little fantasy value in most leagues, so this shouldn't affect your landscape.

Thu Dec 27 201213:48Leandro Barbosa still out on Thursday
Leandro Barbosa is still away from the team and will not play on Thursday.
He has zero fantasy value in standard formats and not much more than that in deeper ones, so this really shouldn't impact your league.

Sun Dec 23 201214:26Barbosa will not play on Christmas
Leandro Barbosa (personal) will not play on Christmas day.
He has only been playing 12.1 minutes per game this year and really doesn't have much value as long as the Celtics are even remotely healthy. Barbosa is expected to be with the team for their game in Los Angeles on Thursday.
