Fri Dec 21 201219:04Leandro Barbosa not with Celtics on Friday
Leandro Barbosa is not with the Celtics due to a personal matter and won't play Friday.
Chris Wilcox also won't be available due to a right thumb injury. The Celtics announced the decision about a half hour before tip-off, so if you've got Barbosa in your lineup you'll want to get him out before anything is finalized. Barbosa's absence likely means more time for Courtney Lee.

Fri Dec 7 201212:24Leandro Barbosa good to go for Friday

Barbosa was limited to only four seconds because he was sick on Wednesday, but he's back to full strength and will be active, per usual.

Thu Dec 6 201209:38Leandro Barbosa plays four seconds Wednesday
Leandro Barbosa (illness) played just four seconds Wednesday.
Barbosa was active, but clearly isn't fully over his illness as the Celtics played him only four seconds. He should be in store for more minutes in the next one, but he's not an option in standard formats.

Wed Dec 5 201213:12Leandro Barbosa probable for Wednesday
Leandro Barbosa (illness) is probable to play in Wednesday's game against the Timberwolves.
Barbosa missed practice on Tuesday, but he's feeling better and will be back in the lineup. He's far too inconsistent for owners in standard leagues to even think about using him.

Tue Dec 4 201214:00Leandro Barbosa questionable for Wednesday
Leandro Barbosa (illness) missed practice again on Tuesday, and is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Timberwolves.
If Barbosa can't play, Rajon Rondo, Jason Terry and Courtney Lee will eat up all of the minutes in the Celtics backcourt.

Sun Dec 2 201200:44Leandro Barbosa very quiet w/ Rondo suspended
Leandro Barbosa was invisible in 13 minutes on Saturday, despite Rajon Rondo serving the second game of his suspension.
LB missed all four of his field goals while handing out two assists, as Jason Terry and Courtney Lee absorbed most of the available backcourt minutes. He's locked into a reserve-scoring-guard role for Doc Rivers, which makes him a very hard sell in fantasy leagues.

Fri Nov 30 201223:34Barbosa scores nine points with Rondo out
Leandro Barbosa scored nine points on 3-of-5 shooting (including a three) with three steals, two blocks, and one assist in 21 minutes off the bench on Friday.
Barbosa could be in line for a start in Rajon Rondo's second night off due to suspension on Saturday against the Bucks, but for tonight Doc Rivers decided to use Courtney Lee with Damian Lillard on the other side. It's hard to gauge what Barbosa's value will be after getting limited minutes in a blowout win, so owners should proceed with caution and preferably use Barbosa only if he starts.

Fri Nov 30 201208:51Barbosa expected to start at PG for Rondo
Leandro Barbosa is expected to start at point guard while Rajon Rondo is suspended.
The Celtics don't have a true backup point guard, so Barbosa will be thrust into a role that he's really not suited to play. Boston does not play to sign a point guard for extra help despite having an open roster spot. Barbosa's season-high is three assists and is averaging 6.5 points and 1.5 assists on the year.

Sun Nov 25 201221:43Leandro Barbosa scores 15 pts in 10 minutes
Leandro Barbosa saved Boston's second unit on Sunday by scoring 15 points in just 11 minutes of frenetic action.
LB sank 6-of-8 FGs with two 3-pointers, but unless his playing time increases he's not a viable fantasy option.

Thu Nov 15 201223:48Leandro Barboas plays well in start Thursday
Leandro Barbosa got the start on Thursday and played well with 17 points, two assists, two steal and one 3-pointer in 30 minutes vs. the Nets.
Barbosa followed up his 16-point outing with a nice showing tonight and he should hold enough value to be a spot-start option while Rajon Rondo is out of the lineup. The Celtics will take on Jose Calderon and the Raptors on Saturday.

Thu Nov 15 201219:11Leandro Barbosa to start on Thursday
Leandro Barbosa will get the start with Rajon Rondo (ankle) out for Thursday's game.
The Brazilian Blur put up 16 points in 23 minutes on Wednesday, so his scoring ability is something that could turns some profits for those that are looking for a spot-start tonight. In his last five games, he has taken 1.2 3-point attempts per game in just 13.8 minutes.

Wed Nov 14 201223:14Leandro Barbosa scores 16 off C's bench
Leandro Barbosa hit 6-of-8 shots and a 3-pointer on his way to a season-high 16 points to go along with two rebounds and three assists in Wednesday's win.
He easily outplayed a struggling Jason Terry and could become favored by Doc Rivers until Terry works out of his funk. Rajon Rondo left with a sprained ankle and is iffy for Thursday, and it's possible that Barbosa could start at point guard if Rondo is out for that game.

Sun Nov 4 201201:33Leandro Barbosa quiet off bench again
Leandro Barbosa scored three points in eight minutes off the bench on Saturday, his second straight game with under 10 minutes of action.
Barbosa turned a few heads by scoring 16 points in Boston's opener, but he's obviously not a fantasy option in his current role. The return of Avery Bradley from shoulder surgery will diminish his role even further.

Tue Oct 30 201223:04Leandro Barbosa gets hot in 16 minutes
Leandro Barbosa played just 16 minutes off the Celtics bench on Tuesday but hit 6-of-8 shots and three 3-pointers for 16 points in a loss to the Heat.
Barbosa was great tonight, but Jason Terry is still the shooting guard we prefer in Boston. Courtney Lee is starting at SG (for now), while Barbosa figures to see most of his minutes backing up PG Rajon Rondo. Just keep an eye on him in case he starts getting more minutes than this nightly.

Wed Oct 24 201216:25Barbosa looks good in first Celtics practice
Leandro Barbosa went through his first full practice with the Celtics on Wednesday, and reportedly looked great as the team's backup PG.
"[Barbosa] was very vocal today," said Rajon Rondo. "He was the point guard. He moved [Jason Terry] to the side and I think they both liked that situation. JET's more of a scoring point guard and Barbosa set a lot of those guys up today in practice." As we've stated, Barbosa was a nice real-world addition for the Celtics, yet his fantasy value is severely limited given Boston's backcourt depth.

Sun Oct 21 201219:34Barbosa sits out Saturday w/ visa issues
Leandro Barbosa missed another preseason game on Saturday due to visa issues.
The veteran guard shouldn't have too much trouble adapting to Boston, considering he'll be playing virtually the same backup combo guard role he's had his entire career. He was a nice addition for the Celtics in reality, but only serves as a spoiler in fantasy leagues.

Sat Oct 20 201211:34Barbosa joins Celtics, could play on Sunday
Leandro Barbosa joined the Celtics on Saturday, and if he clears his physical he could be in uniform for Sunday's exhibition.
It sounds as though LB will earn his minutes as Boston's backup PG this season, and Rajon Rondo is welcoming his addition. "I won't have to play as many minutes and take a toll on my body," Rondo said. "And with Barbosa in the game, the speed is going to continue to stay the same when I go out. He can create his own shots, make plays for teammates, and also can score the ball. I think it's a great pickup." Fantasy owners should avoid him, however, since Boston's backcourt is very crowded even without Avery Bradley (shoulders) on the court.

Fri Oct 19 201207:48No timetable for Barbosa to join Celtics
There is "no timetable" for Leandro Barbosa to join the Celtics.
Barbosa's signing with Boston became official on Thursday afternoon, but it's not clear when he'll be ready to join the team. The Celtics are surely hopeful that he'll be able to see some preseason action before the year begins, but it's yet to be determined as to when he'll join his new teammates.

Wed Oct 17 201216:25Celtics sign Leandro Barbosa to one-year deal
The Celtics and Leandro Barbosa have agreed on a one-year contract, according to Yahoo! Sports.
The deal is presumably worth the veteran's minimum, considering Boston's salary-cap limitations, and it gives them another affordable veteran option, along with Jason Terry, to handle PG duties behind Rajon Rondo. Boston's busy backcourt just got even busier, to the detriment of everyone's fantasy value.
