Wed Dec 19 201222:56Kidd fills stat sheet but struggles w/ shot
Jason Kidd hit just 2-of-9 shots (all 3-pointers) and finished with seven points, eight rebounds, five assists and three steals in a win over the Nets on Wednesday.
Had his threes been falling his line would have looked a lot better, but he's still playing well enough and getting enough minutes to be owned in all leagues.

Thu Dec 13 201223:49Kidd only scores five in 39 minutes
Jason Kidd scored just five points with nine rebounds, five assists, two steals and one 3-pointer in 39 minutes against the Lakers.
If you're new to owning Jason Kidd, lines like these are commonplace. Even though he only shot 1-of-2 from the field, he still found a way to produce a useful fantasy line. He's worth owning in all leagues right now.

Tue Dec 11 201222:41Jason Kidd scores season-high 18 in win
Jason Kidd hit six 3-pointers and 6-of-9 shots for a season-high 18 points to go along with six rebounds, six assists and zero turnovers in 37 minutes of Tuesday's win in Brooklyn.
The Nets would be undefeated in New York, but lost at Brooklyn on Nov. 26. Kidd scored 17 in his last game and is averaging 17.5 points, 4.5 3-pointers, 5.0 rebounds and 6.5 assists over his last two games, and was likely motivated to play well in front of his old team tonight. In any case, we're not sure where this version of Kidd was last season in Dallas, but he's worth owning in all fantasy leagues right now.

Sun Dec 9 201222:47Jason Kidd busts out w/ big line vs. Nuggets
Jason Kidd had a huge game for New York on Sunday with 17 points, three 3-pointers, four rebounds, seven assists and one steal.
Kidd made all six of his FTs and only turned the ball over once, rounding out another gem from the 18-year veteran. Congratulations to anyone who drafted Kidd -- he's returning third-round value in eight-cat leagues in just 27 minutes per game, and his recent back spasms have obviously subsided.

Thu Dec 6 201223:19Jason Kidd plays well in start Thursday
Jason Kidd had his first start since dealing with back spasms and had 11 points, two rebounds, four assists, two steals and three 3-pointers in 32 minutes against the Heat.
Coach Mike Woodson said he was going to monitor Kidd's minutes and Kidd exceeded his season average of 26 minutes in tonight's gem. He showed all the signs of a healthy player tonight and he should be good to go for the back-to-back set on Saturday and Sunday. He's among the elite for players that can contribute in steals and threes, so he deserves a look in all leagues.

Jason Kidd will rejoin the starting lineup on Thursday.

Wed Dec 5 201222:07Jason Kidd blocks three shots in return
Jason Kidd returned from his back injury and had just seven points off the Knicks bench on Wednesday, but added two rebounds, one assist, two steals, three blocks and two 3-pointers.
Kidd isn't going to help you win any scoring titles, but has played well enough across the board this season to offer help in many fantasy formats. And now that he appears to be healthy again, it's time to think about grabbing him off waiver wires again.

Wed Dec 5 201211:16Jason Kidd to come off the bench Wednesday
Jason Kidd will come off the bench on Wednesday, as expected.
The Knicks will stick with the same staring lineup they've used in the previous four games: Raymond FElton, Ronnie Brewer, Carmelo Anthony, Kurt Thomas and Tyson Chandler. Kidd isn't expected to see his full complement of minutes, and with an average of 26 per game this year, we'd guess he plays between 15-20 tonight.

Wed Dec 5 201209:34Jason Kidd unlikely to start upon his return
Jason Kidd (back) will play on Wednesday, but he won't play his full share of minutes and is unlikely to start.
"I've been out a week, so we'll work back in with the second unit," he said. Kidd also acknowledged that he's not fully healthy yet, which should be expected considering he's a 39-year-old point guard coming off of a back injury. He's not a must-start player if you own him right now.

Tue Dec 4 201211:17Jason Kidd expected to play on Wednesday
Updating a previous item, Jason Kidd (back) is listed as probable for Wednesday's game after practicing on Tuesday.
It's a great sign that Kidd is set to return against the Bobcats, as we highly doubt the Knicks would've allowed the seasoned guard to practice if he still wasn't feeling right. It sounds safe to get him back in the lineup, but owners should look for confirmation that he'll play on Wednesday.

Tue Dec 4 201209:33Jason Kidd (back) uncertain for Wednesday
Jason Kidd (back) is uncertain to play on Wednesday against the Bobcats.
Kidd previously hinted that he was targeting a Wednesday return, but it sounds like a matchup against the Heat is more likely for the veteran's return. When Kidd does return, he's expected to have his minutes "carefully" monitored. He was averaging 26 minutes per game before going down.

Sun Dec 2 201218:28Kidd targeting Wednesday to return
Jason Kidd (back) is targeting a return on Wednesday.
He has missed four games so far with back spasms and worked out before Sunday's game. The Knicks may need Kidd more than they thought with Raymond Felton (hand) now listed as day-to-day. Kidd is worth stashing in most formats based on his production over the first month of the season.

Sun Dec 2 201210:42Jason Kidd (back) still without return date
Confirming previous reports, Jason Kidd (back) will not play vs. Phoenix on Sunday.
Kidd worked out before the game but Mike Woodson confirmed that his return date is up in the air. The schedule-makers gave him a break, at least, as New York doesn't play again until Wednesday in Charlotte.

Sat Dec 1 201213:16Jason Kidd (back spasms) will not play Sunday
Jason Kidd (back spasms) will not play on Sunday against the Suns.
Kidd is out for "a while" even though the MRI on his ailing back came back clean. He is still listed as day-to-day, but reports have him out until December 5 at the earlier. Even though he has been extremely productive, owners in shallower formats can entertain the idea of cutting him for a hot free agent.

Fri Nov 30 201211:51Jason Kidd (back) has MRI, results negative
Jason Kidd (back) had an MRI exam, but the results were negative and he's still day-to-day.
Kidd discussed the possibility of returning next week, but didn't specify a timetable. We still don't know the full extent of the injury because the Knicks are so tight-lipped with updates, but Kidd won't play Friday and doesn't sound likely for Sunday, either.

Fri Nov 30 201208:29Jason Kidd (back) not expected to play Friday
Jason Kidd (back) is not expected to play on Friday.
Kidd has missed the last two games, and on Thursday, the New York Post reported that he'd be out "indefinitely." With Kidd sidelined, rookie Pablo Prigioni is expected to see an uptick in minutes. Prigioni came off the bench for 11 points (two treys), three boards, seven assists and a steal in 28 minutes in his last game, so owners looking for a spot-start at PG can give him a look.

Thu Nov 29 201210:56Report: Jason Kidd (back) out indefinitely
Jason Kidd (back) is out indefinitely, according to the New York Post.
The report doesn't list a timetable for Kidd's return or anything along those lines, but this is another warning sign after we learned yesterday that the veteran could be out for "a while." If Kidd is forced to miss extended time, Ronnie Brewer, Pablo Prigioni and J.R. Smith should each see a boost in minutes.

Wed Nov 28 201213:27Report: Kidd (back) could be out a while
Jason Kidd (back) could be out for "a while."
There isn't a clear indication as to Kidd's timetable, and while Mike Woodson is calling him day-to-day, he gave a lot of "we'll see" type of responses when asked about the veteran's progress. It's worth noting Woodson originally called both Jeremy Lin and Amare Stoudemire day-to-day last season when they were dealing with more serious injuries, so we're keeping a careful eye on this one.

Tue Nov 27 201215:47Update: Jason Kidd (back) out on Wednesday
Updating a previous report, Jason Kidd (back spasms) did not fly with the Knicks for Wednesday's game in Milwaukee.
Kidd is considered day-to-day so he could return for Friday's home game, though New York probably won't rush him back to face the lowly Wizards. Make sure he's out of your active lineups.

Tue Nov 27 201214:42Jason Kidd (back) listed as day-to-day
Jason Kidd (lower back spasms) has been listed as day-to-day.
Kidd was re-evaluated on Tuesday and it sounds like nothing more serious was revealed. Check back for updates following Wednesday's shootaround, but owners should be making contingency plans in case the Knicks' veteran guard can't suit up.
