Updating an earlier report, Peter Vescey reports Jason Kidd received the DWI charge after crashing his 2010 Escalade into a pole.

Thu Jul 12 201215:29Knicks officially sign PG Kidd, SF Novak
Knicks sign PG Jason Kidd and SF Steve Novak.
Kidd is expected to back up Jeremy Lin, while Novak will continue to be a 3-point threat off the Knicks' bench. Kidd should still rack up solid assist numbers, along with steals and 3-pointers, but if he's only playing 20-25 minutes a night, he'll struggle to provide great fantasy value - especially when he only averaged six points per game last season.

Thu Jul 5 201216:45Change of plans: Kidd now joining Knicks
In another shocking turn of events this week, Jason Kidd will not be returning to the Mavericks, but has instead agreed to a multiyear deal with the Knicks.
He's 39 years old, but this is a great get by the Knicks, who were also said to be in heavy talks with Raymond Felton after missing out on Steve Nash. Kidd's age should also work in favor of Jeremy Lin, as he should still get plenty of minutes, assuming the Knicks match his qualifying offer. We're guessing Kidd will come off the bench for now, but the duo might have a training camp battle to determine who will be named the starter. We're assuming this takes Felton off the table for New York, unless something crazy happens and they decide to let Lin walk. But that just doesn't seem possible at this point.

Thu Jul 5 201210:19Jason Kidd nearing deal with Mavericks
Free agent point guard Jason Kidd, despite being 39 years old, is closing in on a multiyear deal to return to the Mavericks.
Nothing has been finalized and there's no word on how much money Kidd will make, but it does appear that he will finish out his career as a Maverick.

Wed Jul 4 201217:57Jason Kidd now wants to finish career in DAL
Jason Kidd said on Wednesday he'd like to finish his career in Dallas.
"I've always loved playing with Dallas and I'd love to finish my career there," Kidd said. It looked like he'd follow Deron Williams to Brooklyn, but now there's a decent chance he'll finish his career in Dallas, although the Knicks are still a possibility for Kidd if Steve Nash goes elsewhere.

Tue Jul 3 201222:13Kidd to Nets off the table; DAL/NY remain
The Nets are no longer in the running for free agent Jason Kidd, as the Mavs and Knicks are now the front-runners according to multiple reports on Tuesday.
Kidd would have to accept the veteran's minimum in New Jersey and the so-called 'package deal' wasn't really a package, apparently. We expect Kidd's destination to be worked out once Steve Nash and Jeremy Lin are signed.

Tue Jun 26 201209:52Kidd interested in Knicks, Nets as free agent
Unrestricted free agent Jason Kidd said that both the Knicks and Nets would appeal to him in free agency.
Kidd is doing a really good job of selling his services to anyone who will listen. He's previously stated that he intends to look at the Nets, but now he's opening the door for the Knicks to consider him as a backup behind Jeremy Lin as well. Kidd said that "everything will fall into place" after Deron Williams makes his free agent decision.

Tue Jun 19 201209:32Kidd to follow Deron Williams in free agency?
Unrestricted free agent Jason Kidd said that he'll "definitely" look at the Nets, but he wants to return to the Mavericks.
Kidd's quest to follow Deron Williams in free agency is pretty strange, but he knows that his days of playing starter's minutes in this league have likely come to an end. Kidd is looking to backup Williams wherever he lands, and he's leaving the door open to play outside of Dallas if he's forced to do exactly that.

Wed Jun 6 201210:11Report: Warriors think they can sign Kidd
The Warriors think they have a "good chance" at signing unrestricted free agent Jason Kidd.
Good luck with that one. Kidd has already said that he won't be taking a pay cut and has no interest in playing for the veteran's minimum. If Golden State gives its midlevel exception to an aging Kidd, it would be another step in the wrong direction for a team that needs to make moves for its future. The report also suggests both Kirk Hinrich and Raymond Felton as secondary options behind Kidd.

Mon Jun 4 201211:00Report: Kidd, Nash on Bulls' free agent radar
The Bulls will "take a run" at unrestricted free agents Jason Kidd and Steve Nash.
Let's take this with a very large grain of salt. While Kidd might make some sense while Derrick Rose (knee surgery) continues to heal, Nash simply doesn't fit the picture in Chicago for a number of reasons. There will be teams willing to give the veteran a larger role and more money than the Bulls can offer, and the pursuit of Nash sounds like wishful thinking more than anything else.

Sat May 5 201222:31Jason Kidd enters unrestricted free agency
Jason Kidd went cold late in the Mavericks' season-ending loss on Saturday, but he finished the game with 16 points, four 3-pointers seven rebounds and eight assists.
Kidd heads into unrestricted free agency and he's already said that he wants to earn around the mid-level exception -- with Dallas likely targeting Deron Williams this summer, they'll have to get creative to retain him. Other free agents include Jason Terry, Delonte West and Ian Mahinmi.

Thu May 3 201216:25Report: Kidd doesn't want to play for minimum
Impending free agent Jason Kidd isn't interested in playing for the veteran's minimum next season, according to SI's Chris Mannix.
Mannix hears that if Kidd doesn't get a "mid-level type" of offer, he'll simply retire. It runs contrary to what what the future Hall of Famer has been saying all season, as he's maintained he fully intends to play in 2012-13 -- and is willing to be a backup. Kidd turned 39 in March, but would still fit nicely as the second fiddle to potential free agent signing Deron Williams in Dallas next season.

Thu May 3 201211:05Jason Kidd wins Sportsmanship Award
Jason Kidd has won the 2011-12 NBA Sportsmanship Award.
Kidd, who recently said that he will not play for the veteran minimum's salary next season, takes home the honor.

Wed May 2 201213:42Jason Kidd on Warriors' radar in offseason?
The Warriors will "explore" the possibility of signing Jason Kidd as a free agent in the offseason.
The idea makes sense in theory, but that doesn't mean it's going to come to fruition. The veteran will likely look to join a title contender as he creeps closer to retirement, and Golden State is highly unlikely to be vying for the Larry O'Brien Trophy next year.

Sun Apr 29 201200:51Jason Kidd solid in Mavericks' defeat
Jason Kidd, who sat out the Mavericks' season finale on Thursday, chipped in eight points, six rebounds, five assists and seven steals in Saturday's defeat.
The Mavs were excruciatingly close to taking a one-game lead in their first-round series against the Thunder, but couldn't hang onto a lead down the stretch. Kidd looks fine health-wise and should be counted on for his usual production and minimal scoring.

Thu Apr 26 201212:16Jason Kidd definitely out on Thursday
Updating a previous item, Jason Kidd (rest) will not play on Thursday against the Hawks.
Look for Delonte West and Roddy Beaubois to soak up extra minutes as Kidd gets ready for the playoffs.

Thu Apr 26 201208:34Jason Kidd likely to sit out on Thursday
Jason Kidd (rest) will likely sit out on Thursday against the Hawks.
If Kidd does not play, he'll have more than a full week before Dallas' first-round playoff matchup. The Mavericks will do anything possible to make sure the 39-year-old is fully rested, so both Delonte West and Roddy Beaubois should see a bump in minutes.

Tue Apr 24 201215:07Jason Kidd to sit on Thursday?
Coach Rick Carlisle suggested that Jason Kidd could be rested in Thursday's regular season finale at Atlanta.
This is a no-brainer for the Mavs as the 39-year-old Kidd gets set for a playoff run. Roddy Beaubois and Delonte West will be strong fantasy options Thursday.

Fri Apr 20 201223:37KIdd held scoreless Friday, won't play Sat.
Jason Kidd was held scoreless on Friday night, and coach Rick Carlisle revealed after the game that he won't play on Saturday due to a scheduled rest.
Kidd only played 22 minutes in this one, tallying a rebound and four assists. The Mavericks only have one game after Saturday, so it's time to let Kidd go for a hot free agent.
