Tue Mar 6 201223:50Jason Kidd scores season-high 15 points
Jason Kidd hit 4-of-9 shots and three 3-pointers on his way to a season-high 15 points in Tuesday's win over the Knicks.
The fact he scored 15 on a night when Roddy Beaubois had 18 is impressive, and this might be the line owners have been waiting for from Kidd. He added four rebounds, six assists and a steal on the night, and still has three games to add to his totals this week.

Sat Mar 3 201202:28Kidd minimized by Beaubois on Friday
Jason Kidd scored three points on 1-of-3 shooting (all threes) with one rebound, six assists, and one steal in the Mavs' loss to the Hornets on Friday.
Kidd and his teammates were likely thrown off by the presence of Roddy Beaubois, whose ball-dominant, penetrating style hasn't been a staple of the Mavs offense like it was tonight. Should Beaubois stick in the starting lineup, it could be the final death blow to Kidd's value. Jason Terry hit just 1-of-9 shots for two points and was also victimized by the new game plan.

Wed Feb 29 201200:28Jason Kidd scores three points in loss
Jason Kidd hit just 1-of-7 shots (all 3-point attempts) for three points, four rebounds, eight assists and two steals in a tough loss to the Nets on Tuesday.
Kidd's lack of offense is highly frustrating, but the assists are usually there. He's probably worth owning, but only by teams that can afford to have a proverbial donut in their lineup on offense.

Tue Feb 28 201214:36Jason Kidd open to being a backup
Jason Kidd said he's willing to be a backup to Deron Williams next season.
The Mavs have been linked to Williams, who shares an agent with Kidd, could opt out of his Nets contract after this season and is from Dallas. Kidd will be 39 next season and coach Rick Carlisle has been trying to limit the future Hall of Famer's minutes. A backup role next season would be ideal.

Tue Feb 21 201202:04Kidd moves into No. 2 spot on steals list
Jason Kidd moved into second place on that all-time steals list on Monday against the Celtics, finishing with three steals, two rebounds, eight assists, and six points on 2-of-5 shooting (all threes).
The steal gives him 2,517 for his career and next up is John Stockton (3265). Something tells us Kidd isn't going to get there, but it's an awesome achievement for the future Hall of Famer, nonetheless.

Sat Feb 18 201200:46Jason Kidd suddenly hot due to injuries
Jason Kidd had nine points, nine rebounds, eight assists, two steals, a block and two 3-pointers on 3-of-8 shooting on Friday.
Kidd is going to get some serious run with Roddy Beaubois (personal), Jason Terry (personal) and Delonte West (finger) all out right now. Beaubois isn't expected back before the All-Star break and West is out indefinitely, so grabbing Kidd for some short-term fantasy stats is a good idea.

Mon Feb 13 201211:07Mavs are trying to limit Kidd's minutes
The Mavs are trying to limit Jason Kidd to around 25 minutes per game.
It's easier said than done, as seen in Kidd's first two games back. He played 27 minutes on Friday and then 30 on Saturday thanks to a double-overtime game. But when games aren't close or Kidd isn't playing well, the Mavs are going to rest Kidd's 38-year-old body as much as possible.

Sun Feb 12 201200:01Jason Kidd has eight rebounds, eight assists
Jason Kidd posted five points, eight rebounds and eight assists in 31 minutes on Saturday, as the Mavericks outlasted the Blazers in double-OT.
Kidd chipped in one 3-pointer and one steal, and has two nice lines to his credit since returning from a calf injury. As long as he's healthy he'll do enough to warrant owning in average leagues -- he doesn't score much at all, but when he does it comes from 3-point land.

Sat Feb 11 201203:04Kidd (calf) returns from six-game absence
Jason Kidd (calf) returned from a six-game absence on Friday, scoring eight points on 2-of-4 shooting (including two threes) with five rebounds, 10 assists, two steals, and one block in 27 minutes.
Kidd had eight turnovers, but it's clear he still has some juice left in him and deserves to be owned in most formats. Vince Carter scored 12 points with five steals and a three, Delonte West had 10 points and three steals, and Roddy Beaubois was a DNP-CD, as the remaining guards go back to being borderline values or worse.

Fri Feb 10 201220:01Kidd (calf) on the floor, looks like a go
Jason Kidd (calf) is on the floor in the layup line prior to Friday's game, and play-by-play voice of the Mavs Mark Followill says that he "looks like a go."
It would be fairly shocking if he didn't play with this report, but on a busy Friday night owners will want to evaluate their options before plugging him into lineups. If you're staring at Kidd on the waiver wire, now is the time to pick him up. Just realize that he's not going to score points, but he will hit threes and provide low-end value with mid-round upside.

Fri Feb 10 201217:51Kidd: I'm an everyday player upon return
Although it's still uncertain if Jason Kidd (calf) is going to make it back for Friday's game, he will be back very soon and once he does return, he wants to be an everyday player.
"(I'm) coming back to be back, not to go every other day or one of every two games,'' he said after Friday's shootaround. "If I'm back, I plan on playing in all the games.'' Some people, Dirk Nowitzki included, have said it might be in Kidd's best interests to limit his play a bit upon his return. Delonte West has played well in Kidd's place, but his minutes will take a hit once Kidd makes it back to the hardwood.

Fri Feb 10 201213:04Jason Kidd still uncertain for Friday night
Jason Kidd (calf) went through shootaround but his status for Friday's game remains uncertain.
Kidd reported improvement, but owners will have to wait until closer to tipoff to see whether or not he'll be able to go. If he can't give it a whirl, Delonte West figures to start once again, and has averaged 10.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 2.5 steals over the last two games as the starter.

Thu Feb 9 201216:29Jason Kidd practices, status still uncertain
Jason Kidd (calf) participated in a light practice Thursday and remains questionable for Friday's game against the Wolves.
Kidd did some light running and shooting Thursday, just like he did on Tuesday. All coach Rick Carlisle would say is that Kidd's status for Friday night is "indefinite." Delonte West is averaging 10.0 points, 6.0 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals over the last two games as the starting point guard.

Thu Feb 9 201208:50Jason Kidd 'could' return on Friday night
Jason Kidd (calf) is hopeful to practice on Thursday and "could return" on Friday against the Timberwolves.
Kidd has missed six straight games with the calf injury, but he said that Wednesday was a "good day" in terms of his workouts. Kidd said that he'd give it a shot Friday if he's feeling good, but added that there is still no timetable and stressed he wants to be 100 percent before returning. Kidd is averaging 4.1 points, 4.5 rebounds, 5.1 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.1 treys but is shooting just 28.2 percent from the floor.

Wed Feb 8 201220:54Jason Kidd out again vs. Nuggets
Jason Kidd will miss his sixth straight game on Wednesday due to a calf injury.
He was targeting tonight's game for a return, but isn't able to go. Roddy Beaubois and Delonte West will once again handle point guard duties in his absence.

Tue Feb 7 201216:09Jason Kidd jogs at Tuesday practice
Jason Kidd (calf) was limited to light jogging at Tuesday's practice.
Kidd is at least getting some exercise, but it doesn't sound like he's going to play Wednesday. "He's doing some stuff, but again I'm not going to get into a daily Kidd update," coach Rick Carlisle said. "We'll let you know when he's going to play." Look for Delonte West and Roddy Beaubois to share point guard minutes against the Nuggets.

Mon Feb 6 201211:10Mavs hoping to get Kidd back Wednesday
The Mavericks are hoping to have Jason Kidd (calf) back for Wednesday's game against the Nuggets.
The Mavs are off until Wednesday, giving Kidd plenty of time to test out his calf in practice. He'll immediately rejoin the starting upon his return, cutting into the minutes of both Delonte West and Roddy Beaubois. Before going down, Kidd was averaging 5.1 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.1 3-pointers in 28.6 minutes per game.

Sat Feb 4 201203:37Kidd (calf) to miss Saturday against Cavs
Jason Kidd (calf) will not play in Saturday's game against the Cavs, but could return in the Mavs' next game on Wednesday against the Nuggets.
The idea of him skipping the Cavs to get a full three-day rest in advance of the Nuggets game makes tremendous sense, and owners of Vince Carter, Delonte West, and Roddy Beaubois are on notice.
