Wed Jun 24 201519:31Nicolas Batum: Acquired By Hornets
Batum was dealt to the Hornets on Wednesday in exchange for Gerald Henderson and Noah Vonleh, the Charlotte Observer reports.
Batum started 428 of 481 games in which he played across seven season with the Blazers, developing into an across-the-board threat. However, his production suffered last season due injuries, namely a right knee contusion, torn ligament in his right wrist, and lower back pain. Overall, he logged time in 71 contests, averaging 9.4 points (on 40 percent shooting), 5.9 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 1.4 three-pointers, and 1.1 steals in 34 minutes per contest. Expect Batum to fill one of the wing positions next to Michael Kidd-Gilchrist upon joining the Hornets.

Batum intends to play for France during FIBA EuroBasket 2015 during the offseason, CSN Northwest reports.
Batum endured his toughest professional season in 2014-15, rife with seeming exhaustion on the court, an array of injury concerns, and a general deflation of output. With his plans known for participation in a FIBA-hosted event yet again -- last year, he took part in the FIBA World Cup after initially declining to play -- the Blazers are likely worried that extra game action will have a negative impact next season. In the past campaign, he suffered a right knee contusion on two occasions, a torn ligament in his right wrist, and lower back pain, yet he still took the court in 71 games. However, his averages -- 9.4 points (on 40 percent shooting), 5.9 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 1.4 three-pointers, and 1.1 steals in 34 minutes per contest -- took a hit across the board. As he enters the final year of his contract, a bounce back could very well be in offing due to the potential departures of LaMarcus Aldridge and Wesley Matthews (Achilles) via free agency.

Batum scored 12 points (3-13 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 4-6 FT) with 13 rebounds, four assists and a steal in 42 minutes during Monday's Game 4 win over the Grizzlies.
He wasn't effective on the offensive end, but Batum still provided his usual well-rounded stat line to help the Blazers avoid a sweep. He may need to step up his game on Wednesday if the Blazers are going to stay alive, as the series shifts back to Memphis.

Batum (knee) posted 15 points, seven rebounds, and four assists in 38 minutes of action in the Blazers' Game 1 loss to the Grizzlies on Sunday.
Batum was dealing with a bruised knee, but it apparently didn't bother him too much. He went on to log 38 minutes and post a decent line in the process. In other words, expect him to be fine moving forward.
Sat Apr 18 201515:42Nicolas Batum: (Knee) Probable For Sunday
Batum (knee) is listed as probable for Sunday's playoff opener at Memphis.
On Monday, Batum sustained a bruised right knee after landing awkwardly on an attempted rebound, which eventually kept him sidelined in Wednesday's season finale. However, after practicing Friday, he'll resume his role as the Blazers' starter at the three.

Batum (knee) will play in Game 1 against the Grizzlies on Sunday, Casey Holdahl of Blazers.com reports.

Batum was diagnosed with a right knee contusion and will not play in Wednesday's game at Dallas.
Of course, the fact that Batum is sitting out does not necessarily shed any light on how serious his injury is, as this is the season finale and the team likely wants him ready for the playoffs. Either way, he will offer no further value to owners in single-season leagues. Alonzo Gee and Allen Crabbe will see a ton of minutes on the wing Wednesday.
Tue Apr 14 201513:03Nicolas Batum: (Knee) MRI On Tuesday
Batum is slated to undergo an MRI on his right knee Tuesday, The Oregonian reports.
Batum left Monday's game in Oklahoma City for good after coming down awkwardly on his right leg while competing with teammate Chris Kaman for a rebound. During the act, Batum's knee appeared to buckle, but an initial X-ray was returned negative. With one regular season contest remaining on the schedule Wednesday at Dallas, it wouldn't surprise if the wing was held out, as intimated by Batum on Monday. Nevertheless, expect clarification regarding his injury once the results of the MRI are known.

Batum (knee) doesn't believe he'll be playing in Wednesday's regular season finale against the Mavericks, broadcaster Casey Holdahl reports.
Batum prematurely exited Monday's game against the Thunder and is now just trying to rest up in preparation for Portland's impending playoff bid. That said, official word on his status for Wednesday won't likely be released until closer to tipoff.

Batum's leg appeared to buckle while battling for a rebound and he departed the game for further examination. While X-Rays came back negative, he'll undergo further tests, and the extent of the injury likely won't be known until Tuesday.

Batum has been finding ways to be productive outside of just scoring lately. He has two 10-rebound games in his past four outings, averages 4.8 assists per game so far in April and has a combined seven steals in his past five games.

Batum returned to the starting line-up after a rest and scored 11 points (4-7 FG, 3-4 3Pt) with six rebounds, five assists and three steals in 29 minutes during Wednesday's win over the Timberwolves.
Batum has been disappointing this season with a drop in production in a number of categories. He is still a multi-category guy and looms as a value pick heading into next season as a number of owners may overlook him.
Tue Apr 7 201518:10Nicolas Batum: (Rest) Available Wednesday
Batum (rest) isn't on the Blazers' injury report for Wednesday's game versus the Timberwolves, The Oregonian reports.
Batum didn't make the trip east to Brooklyn for Monday's makeup game, but he'll return to his normal spot as the Blazers' starting small forward Wednesday. In his previous four appearances, he averaged 12.8 points (on 50 percent shooting), six rebounds, four assists, 2.8 treys, and 0.8 steals in 31 minutes.

Batum (back) logged 32 minutes Friday against the Suns and contributed five points, nine rebounds, and five assists.
Batum is returning from a two-game absence, and it's encouraging to see him log 32 minutes. Still, his production in March has been unimpressive -- 10.4 points, 7.5 rebounds, 5.2 assists, and 0.9 steals per game. He's still worth owning in standard leagues, however.
Fri Mar 27 201521:40Nicolas Batum: (Back) Will Play Friday
Batum (back) will play Friday against the Suns, Craig Grialou of 98.7 FM reports.
Batum was considered probable for the game, but has now apparently been ruled in. He missed each of the last two contests due to the minor back issue, so it's possible he will be eased back into action.
Fri Mar 27 201515:27Batum (back) probable to play Friday against Suns
Batum (back) is probable to play Friday against the Suns.
Batum is battling a minor back issue, which has kept him out of the last two games. He was very close to playing Wednesday but was pulled from the lineup just before tip-off after his back tightened up in warmups. Barring a similar situation Friday, expect Batum to take the floor. The team has not announced whether he'll start or come off the bench.

Batum was held out of Wednesday's win at Utah after his back tightened up during pregame warmups, The Oregonian reports.
Entering the game with questionable availability, Batum was initially listed as a starter. However, his name was removed from the starting lineup after the aforementioned development and ultimately kept him on the pine. While his teammates put an end to a five-game skid, his treatment included a heating pad on the afflicted region. In his stead, Allen Crabbe got the nod at small forward, as LaMarcus Aldridge (finger) returned to action, which will likely repeat if Batum is ruled out for Friday's game at Phoenix.
Thu Mar 26 201505:16Batum (back) sat out Wednesday's game against Jazz
Batum (back) sat out Wednesday's game against the Jazz.
Batum was expected to come off the bench, but ultimately he didn't make it onto the court. The game was a close one, so it's unclear why the Blazers decided not to let him loose. Still, consider him a game-time decision for Saturday's game.
