Mon Dec 8 201408:40Babbitt sprained knee Sunday against Lakers
Babbitt sprained his knee Sunday against the Lakers. He finished the game with six points and five rebounds in 20 minutes of action.
Babbitt's sprain could sideline him for a few games, which would leave more minutes for Austin Rivers. Still, consider him a game-time decision for Tuesday's game against the Knicks. Meanwhile, neither Babbitt nor Rivers are must-own fantasy players by any means.

Babbitt had his best outing of the season, scoring 12 points (4-6 FG, 4-5 3Pt) with three rebounds in 18 minutes in the blowout loss to the Clippers on Saturday.
This was Babbitt's third consecutive start in place of Eric Gordon (shoulder) and could become a long-term member of the starting five depending on whether Gordon opts for shoulder surgery or not. In those three starts, he has averaged just 17 minutes of court time, so is not a realistic option for the majority of fantasy leagues. His value lies in his contributions from behind the arc, hitting seven triples in those last three games.

Babbitt continues to start for the Pelicans, but in a loss to the Warriors Thursday, he played just 19 minutes and scored five points (2-3 FG, 1-2 3Pt).
The Pelicans continue to struggle to find a real option to replace Eric Gordon. Austin Rivers came off the bench to play 23 minutes, but he only shot 3-for-8 from the floor, and Jimmer Fredette only saw two minutes of action. In his first start Tuesday, Babbitt played 15 minutes and has combined to score 11 points in the two starts. Don't be surprised if the Pelicans mix up the starting lineup again, but there's certainly not much to work with off the bench.

Babbitt quietly played his role as a starter, knocking down a couple of 3-pointers to finish the night with six points and two rebounds.
Babbitt did was the Pelicans asked of him, which should be enough to earn him another start. However, Babbitt played just 15 minutes compared to the 25 minutes John Salmons played off the bench. With Darius Miller gone, there is one less guy to compete for minutes with, but Babbitt still isn't cemented into playing time.
Tue Dec 2 201418:28Babbitt will start at small forward Tuesday
Babbitt will start at small forward Tuesday, the Times-Picayune's Nakia Hogan reports.
The Pelicans are hoping to get more floor spacing with Babbitt in the lineup, but it would seem unlikely that he approaches 30 minutes, even as a starter.

Babbitt made his return from a finger injury, playing a season-high 17 minutes Wednesday night.
Babbitt had been in and out of the rotation before his injury, but played heavy minutes against the Lakers as John Salmons, Darius Miller and Jimmer Fredette failed to see the court. Babbitt scored three points and added a steal and a rebound in his 17 minutes of work.
Tue Nov 11 201414:07Babbitt (finger) back at practice Tuesday
Babbitt (finger) was back at practice Tuesday, Nakia Hogan of the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Babbit missed a trio of games with a sprained finger, but his presence at practice Tuesday suggests he's close to returning. The Pelicans did not state whether he'll play Wednesday against the Lakers, so consider him questionable until further notice.
Sat Nov 8 201413:01Babbitt (finger) will not play Saturday
Babbitt (finger) will not play Saturday, NBA.com's Jim Eichenhofer reports.
He is still dealing with a sprained middle finger and should be considered day-to-day.

Babbitt (finger) will not play versus the Hornets on Tuesday.
Babbitt sustained a sprained middle finger during Monday's loss to the Grizzlies and will miss at least one game. The outside shooting specialist has played sparingly thus far but logged a season-high 11 minutes against Memphis, going 0-of-4 from the field and 0-of-3 from beyond the arc.

Babbitt played a season-high 11 minutes Monday night, but failed to score.
Babbitt got plenty of burn with John Salmons away from the team, but failed to capitalize on his opportunity. The Nevada product missed all four of his shots, but did collect four rebounds. He played more minutes than Darius Miller, but he didn't show enough to break into the rotation once Salmons returns.

Babbitt outplayed John Salmons and Darius Miller in New Orleans' first preseason game Saturday night.
Babbitt came off the bench, but poured in 15 points and added six rebounds while knocking down five triples. Meanwhile, Miller scored eight points in 32 minutes but shot an inefficient 25 percent from the field. Salmons logged just six minutes and had three points. If Babbitt can continue to outplay the other two while Tyreke Evans remains sidelined, he may find himself the Pelicans' starting small forward.

Babbitt is competing for the starting small forward job along with John Salmons and Darius Miller, the Times-Picayune reports.
This comes after general manager Dell Demps said the starting job could be alternated between those three players. Tyreke Evans is also another option for the starting job, though he was not mentioned by Demps. Babbitt didn't play in Summer League this season with question marks surrounding his future in New Orleans, but has experience with the team after playing 27 games with the Pelicans last season. Babbitt averaged 6.3 points and 3.3 rebounds during the 2013-14 season.
Fri Jun 13 201411:52Luke Babbitt will play in Vegas
Luke Babbitt will join the Pelicans for Las Vegas Summer League.
The Pelicans picked him up last season and he didn't disappoint those with realistic expectations. Babbitt put up a 24-point game on Apr. 12, but his role will decrease significantly with the team getting some healthy bodies back to start the 2014 season.

Wed Jun 4 201414:08Luke Babbitt aims to play some SF next season
Luke Babbitt hopes to play some small forward for the Pelicans next season.
"When I came into the league, I was known as a three and a four," Babbitt said. "It's just a matter of being able to guard the good threes and keep guys in front of me on the wing who are really athletic." Defensive lapses have prevented Babbitt from earning a larger role under coach Monty Williams, who said Babbitt had "trouble with [the Pelicans'] schemes, especially on the weak side." Even a handful of minutes at SF aren't likely to make him more than a 3-point specialist.

Mon Apr 14 201423:30Babbitt hits three treys against the Thunder
Luke Babbitt hit three 3-pointers in Monday's win, finishing with 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting with three rebounds, two assists and one steal in 26 minutes.
Despite logging 32 minutes off the bench, Anthony Morrow (seven points, 3-of-10 FGs, one three, four boards, one block) couldn't keep pace with his fellow sharpshooter, and the duo will both be in the mix for 3-pointers, scoring and a smattering of other stats in Wednesday's finale.

Sat Apr 12 201422:57Luke Babbitt starts, scores 24 in loss
Luke Babbitt started for the short-handed Pelicans on Saturday and hit 8-of-18 shots and four 3-pointers for a career-high 24 points, seven rebounds and two assists.
If you had the foresight to put Babbitt in your lineup, go out and buy a lottery ticket right now. If he continues to start for the last couple games, feel free to use him, but don't expect him to do this again in either game. Little used Darius Miller also started, but scored just six points. Their lines could have easily been reversed tonight.

Sat Apr 12 201419:55Babbitt, Ajinca, Rivers and Morrow starting
Luke Babbitt, Anthony Morrow, Austin Rivers and Alexis Ajinca will start against the Rockets on Saturday.
They'll join Darius Miller in what is not exactly a powerhouse starting five. Greg Stiemsma, Jeff Withey and Tyreke Evans will move to the bench. Coach Monty Williams is running out of players, but at least he will have Tyreke off the bench. The only player really worth a look as a strong add is Morrow while Rivers should get enough run as a 14- and 16-team league guy.

Sat Apr 12 201400:54Babbitt worth a look if you need threes
Luke Babbitt scored five points on 2-of-3 shooting (including a three) with five rebounds and five assists in 19 minutes off the bench on Friday.
With the Pelicans' injury report unraveling like a scroll onto the ground, owners can give Babbitt a look for 3-point shooting. Anthony Morrow hit just 1-of-9 shots tonight for five points, one steal and a three, and despite the poor showing he's well worth a look after a solid week or so.

Tue Mar 25 201400:50Luke Babbitt moves back to the bench
Luke Babbitt moved back to the bench for Monday's game vs. the Nets with five points and four boards in 17 minutes.
He played 28 minutes in a start on Saturday and moved back to a reserve role tonight. Babbitt won't be worth owning in almost any format and things will only get worse once Eric Gordon (knee) comes back.

Sat Mar 22 201423:34Luke Babbitt scores 11 in start vs. Miami
Luke Babbitt made his first start of the season on Saturday vs. the Heat, scoring 11 points, two boards, two assist and three 3-pointers in 28 minutes.
He set a season high in minutes and matched his best in points, which came on Friday night. Babbitt's spot in the starting lineup seems only temporary and Eric Gordon (knee) is only day-to-day. He only played 12 minutes on Friday and that's most likely where he'll be once EJ comes back.
