Tue Apr 17 201204:59Babbitt has career-night against the Suns
Luke Babbitt set career-highs in scoring (18) and 3-pointers made (four) in Monday's loss to the Suns.
Babbitt started for Nicolas Batum (quad), whose status is going to be iffy for the rest of the year. If given the minutes, we have no doubt about his ability to be an asset for his 3-point shooting, as he has no conscience about letting them fly.

Mon Apr 16 201221:03Babbitt to start if Batum (quad) cannot go
Luke Babbitt will start Monday's game against the Suns if Nicolas Batum (quad) cannot go.
Batum is a game-time decision but is not expected to play. Babbitt is worth a look by owners trolling for threes and that's about it.

Sat Mar 31 201205:18Babbitt plays 21 minutes on Friday vs. LAC
Luke Babbitt scored eight points on 3-of-5 shooting (including two threes) with three rebounds and one assist in 21 minutes off the bench on Friday.
We're not all that high on Babbitt, but we get the sense that the Blazers might use him to tank with. We're not advising an add unless you're desperate for threes in a deep league, but we'll be keeping one eye on Babbitt to see where this heads.

Fri Mar 30 201201:52Babbitt has career-night against the Hornets
Luke Babbitt had a career-night with personal bests in scoring (16 points) and 3-pointers made (four) on Thursday against the Hornets.
Babbitt played 17 minutes and added three rebounds, one assist, one steal, and one block. The Portland fans were thrilled to see him make some buckets, but there's really nothing to see here from a fantasy perspective. He needs multiple injuries before he'll hit the radar.

Luke Babbitt was recalled from the D-League on Saturday, and ended playing later that night for the injury-plagued Blazers, scoring three points on 1-of-5 shooting with two rebounds, no assists, and one steal in 11 minutes off the bench.
He is probably not ready, but given the injury curse in Portland he could conceivably see some time down the road. For now, though, he should be mostly ignored.

Tue Oct 19 201004:24Babbitt gets 30 minutes of run vs. Warriors
Luke Babbitt got 30 minutes of run against the Warriors on Monday, and scored nine points on 3-of-10 shooting (0-for-3 on threes) with nine rebounds and five assists.
He hasn't had too many opportunities to show his stuff this preseason with just 11.6 minutes per game entering the contest. It's hard to imagine that changing when the games count, so anything but a flier pick would be uncalled for.
Sat Oct 9 201000:42Babbitt scores a team-high 18 points
Luke Babbitt scored a team-high 18 points in Friday's preseason tilt with the Nuggets, hitting 5-of-9 shots from the field (including four threes) to go with five rebounds and two assists in just 20 minutes.
The future looks bright for Babbitt, just probably not this year playing behind Nicolas Batum and LaMarcus Aldridge for the most part. You could do worse with your last-round sleeper pick, especially if you need threes, but keep in mind that 20 minutes per night is probably optimistic.
