Fri Mar 7 201409:37Ty Lawson's heel is not a concern
Ty Lawson (heel) is expected to be fine for Friday's game against the Lakers.
Lawson's heel was clearly bothering him in the second half of Wednesday's win over the Mavs, but it looks like some minor soreness. He's been fantastic in each of the two games since his return from a rib injury and gets the dream matchup Friday against the Lakers' inept defense.

Thu Mar 6 201400:39Ty Lawson plays well, has heel looked at
Ty Lawson had 20 points, six rebounds, seven assists, two steals and two 3-pointers in Wednesday's win over Dallas, but also had his troublesome right heel looked at by the training staff throughout the second half.
Lawson has looked fantastic in each of his two games since returning from a broken rib, but his heel is a minor concern. Keep him in your lineup and watch for news on Thursday and Friday in case it was more than some minor irritation. If it is a problem, Aaron Brooks would become relevant again. Brooks played just 17 minutes for four points, four assists and four steals tonight.

Tue Mar 4 201400:00Ty Lawson explodes with 31 points in return
Ty Lawson returned from a nine-game absence against the Wolves on Monday with a line of 31 points, four boards, 11 assists, four steals and three 3-pointers in 40 minutes.
Well, so much for having rust. Lawson is the engine for the Nuggets offense and their 128 points as a team were the highest since Jan. 5. Lawson has been putting up big numbers all season, averaging 18.0 points, 8.8 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.1 triples in his previous 45 games this year. He's a must-start player in all formats with the upside to be a top-10 guard in standard leagues.

Mon Mar 3 201420:14Ty Lawson (ribs) will start vs. Wolves Monday
Ty Lawson (ribs) will start against the Wolves on Monday.
He will return from a nine-game absence and has been able to practice all weekend. Lawson logged a whopping 38.1 minutes per game back in January, so the Nuggets may not play him quite as much today. Still, he should be in all lineups in what could be a fast-paced game vs. Ricky Rubio and Co.

Mon Mar 3 201413:25Ty Lawson (ribs) ready to return Monday
Ty Lawson (ribs) said that he's ready to return after a nine-game absence vs. the Timberwolves on Monday.
His game is predicated upon quickness and he may show some rust in his first game since Feb. 8, but fantasy owners shouldn't hesitate to get him into active lineups. He should immediately overtake Aaron Brooks at PG and his return is a relief for a Nuggets team which has lost 10 of their past 11 games.

Sat Mar 1 201414:14Lawson (ribs) improving, still doubtful Sat.
Ty Lawson (ribs) participated in Saturday's shootaround but he's doubtful to play vs. the Blazers.
He seemed to be moving well and it's great to see him on the court with his teammates, even if he's unable to suit up vs. Portland. The Nuggets haven't provided a target return date but it's conceivable that he'll be back as soon as Monday's home game.

Sat Mar 1 201410:30Ty Lawson (ribs) unlikely to be shut down
Ty Lawson (ribs) remains without a return date, but coach Brian Shaw doesn't expect the Nuggets to shut him down for the season.
"No, I don't think so," said Shaw, when asked about shelving Lawson for the rest of the season. "I think that you still want him to get back and play." Lawson hurt himself on Feb. 8 and still feels too much pain to attempt a return, though he has resumed weight-lifting and non-contact drills. At the very least he'll miss one more game on Saturday.

Fri Feb 28 201418:52Ty Lawson could return soon for Nuggets
Ty Lawson has been going through non-contact drills and hitting the weight room in recent practices.
There is still no word on his target date, but the fact that he hasn't taken on contact in practice yet is discouraging for his chances to play on Saturday night. Aaron Brooks has looked like a strong play in fantasy leagues while Lawson has been down, so he's worth owning in most formats.

Thu Feb 27 201414:04Ty Lawson out Thursday night vs Nets
Ty Lawson (broken ribs) will miss Thursday night's game against Brooklyn.
When asked of Lawson's availability, coach Brian Shaw said, "Ty is still out. He seems to be getting closer, he's participating in more-and-more things." Aaron Brooks will again get the start at point guard with Lawson out, while Randy Foye and Evan Fournier will continue to see big minutes for the Nuggets. The Nuggets visit the Trailblazers on Saturday, so we'll be on the lookout for status updates before then.

Tue Feb 25 201420:53Ty Lawson not starting on Tuesday
Ty Lawson (broken rib) will not start on Tuesday against the Blazers.
That means it would be shocking to see him play, while Aaron Brooks gets the start at PG, along with Randy Foye, Wilson Chandler, Kenneth Faried and Timofey Mozgov. Mozgov's start will push J.J. Hickson to the bench.

Mon Feb 24 201409:45Ty Lawson (ribs) questionable to play Tuesday
Ty Lawson (ribs) remains questionable to play vs. the Trail Blazers on Tuesday.
The Nuggets' TV crew suggested that he may return Tuesday and he has resumed dribbling and running, but still feels pain when he attempts crossovers and "side-to-side movements." Denver has lost seven of their past eight games, including six straight without Lawson. Aaron Brooks, Randy Foye and Evan Fournier will continue to lead the backcourt attack if Lawson's ailing ribs cost him any more games.

Sun Feb 23 201418:29Ty Lawson not listed as starter again
Ty Lawson (ribs) is not expected to play against the Kings on Sunday.
He's not officially out for tonight's game, but the Nuggets starting Aaron Brooks means there's almost no chance Lawson plays. His owners should bench him and may even want to bench him for the upcoming week. We would consider him doubtful for Tuesday vs. the Blazers.

Fri Feb 21 201414:25Ty Lawson not listed as starter for Friday
Ty Lawson (ribs) is not listed as a start for Friday's game against the Bulls.
Newly-acquired Aaron Brooks is listed as the probable starter, which suggests Lawson is going to sit out tonight. While the Nuggets do have absolutely no point guard depth behind Lawson due to Nate Robinson (knee) going down, there's no way the acquisition of Brooks can be viewed as a positive for Lawson's outlook. His owners should just hang tight and hope he hits the practice floor soon.

Thu Feb 20 201419:48Ty Lawson likely out for Thursday
Ty Lawson is not expected to play on Thursday.
There is no word of his status and last we heard he was "a few days away" back on Monday, so it's probably safe to assume he's out. Randy Foye will start with plenty of Evan Fournier at shooting guard.

Mon Feb 17 201423:49Ty Lawson still needs a few days to heal
Ty Lawson (ribs) is still at least a few days from being able to return to the court.
He is not expected to play on Tuesday night vs. the Suns and Thursday vs. the Bucks seems unlikely as well. Lawson does have a fractured rib and does not have a target date, but it does seem more day-to-day than anything else. Randy Foye will start at point guard with Evan Fournier likely to get some more run.

Mon Feb 10 201411:47Ty Lawson (ribs) not expected to play Monday
Ty Lawson (ribs) is not expected to play on Monday.
Randy Foye will handle Denver's primary PG duties, Quincy Miller will step into the starting SG job, and Evan Fournier will also see extra opportunities coming off the bench. The Nuggets have one more game before the All-Star break on Wednesday, but it seems like a safe bet that he'll sit out that game also to get an extra six days of rest before returning to action.

Sat Feb 8 201422:45Ty Lawson leaves with back injury
Ty Lawson finished with just six points and seven assists in 19 minutes before leaving with a back injury on Saturday.
This is more good news for Randy Foye, and also makes Evan Fournier relevant again, if Lawson is going to miss time with this injury. Details are sketchy right now, so owners will want to keep an eye out for news on Sunday and Monday. Consider Lawson questionable for Monday's game at Indiana.

Sat Feb 8 201420:58Ty Lawson (lower back) questionable to return
Ty Lawson suffered a lower back strain in the second quarter of Saturday's game and is questionable to return.
He will not start the second half for the Nuggets and they will go with Randy Foye and Evan Fournier to start the third. Lawson's just coming back from a shoulder injury last week and the Nuggets cannot afford for him to miss time. Fournier is worth a speculative add in some formats.

Sat Feb 8 201420:37Ty Lawson goes to the locker room vs. DET
Ty Lawson went to the locker room in the second quarter of Saturday's game against the Pistons.
He looked to suffer a back or hip injury after landing in traffic. Lawson was escorted to the locker room with the training staff and we'll be watching to see if he can return to start the second half. Randy Foye should have already been owned everywhere while Evan Fournier would get more minutes should Lawson miss time.
