Wed Feb 8 202314:37Darius Garland Questionable For Wednesday
Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Darius Garland (thumb) is listed as questionable for Wednesday's matchup against Detroit. Garland has been in superb form lately but could miss his 10th game of the season as he is nursing right thumb soreness. The potential absence of Garland could give Ricky Rubio his first start of the season and Raul Neto would also be benefiting. Rubio could have some streaming appeal, but he is still working his way back from injury and the team likely won't want to push him too much.

Kyrie Irving's Season Recap

Irving got suspended for an antisemitic social media post, keeping him out of the lineup for eight games. But since then, the 30-year-old stayed out of the limelight, so most had assumed he finally turned things around. He's played well all season, averaging 27.1 points, 5.3 assists, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.0 steals in 40 appearances.https://twitter.com/ShamsCharania/status/1622324668047794177?s=20&t=NTffJ2tRvNpjAA7bddjYHQHe was also selected to the All-Star team for the eighth time in his career. Fri Feb 3 202311:27Darius Garland Leads All Scorers In Win Over Grizzlies
Cleveland Cavaliers guard Darius Garland took over after Donovan Mitchell was ejected for his fight with Dillon Brooks on Thursday. The fourth-year combo guard posted 32 points, 11 assists, and two rebounds while shooting 11-for-19 from the floor, 4-for-6 from three, and 6-for-6 from the line. There was chirping and physical play going on all game, and after the fight, the Cavaliers seemed determined to bury the Grizzlies. Garland would likely see an increase in usage if Mitchell is suspended for his role in the fight.

Sat Jan 28 202308:08Darius Garland Returns To Double-Double Form
Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Darius Garland had a nice 31-point, 13-assist double-double in Friday's loss to the Thunder, adding two rebounds and four steals to his line in 37 minutes on the floor. Donovan Mitchell (groin) missed another game and Garland continued to run the show from the backcourt, shooting 10-for-23 from the field and 3-for-8 from downtown with an 8-for-10 effort at the charity stripe. He had managed only one double-double in his previous four games, but nearly half (6) of Garland's 13 double-doubles this season have come in January, so he is clearly currently enjoying his most productive period of the campaign.

Marcus Smart Injury Update

The Celtics were without Jayson Tatum for Saturday's meeting with Toronto, as the MVP candidate got the day off to deal with wrist soreness. Boston also had Marcus Smart, who is proficient on both ends of the floor.Unfortunately, the reigning NBA Defensive Player of the Year's evening didn't last long, as he exited in the first half after suffering a sprained right ankle. LaMelo Ball Injury Update

LaMelo Ball exited Monday's meeting with the Rockets with a sprained left ankle. This is an all too familiar ailment, as the 21-year-old injured it twice already this season. He missed the first 13 games of the 2022-23 campaign because of it before making his season debut on November 12 against Miami.https://twitter.com/HornetsOnBally/status/1615898994508546048?s=20&t=2ONmwk9cIuX1k5z8xOpxsQUnfortunately, the 2020 No. 3 overall pick was incapacitated again after stepping on a fan's foot during a matchup with Indiana just a few days later, keeping him sidelined for an additional 11 games. Donovan Mitchell Injury Update

Donovan Mitchell has been on a tear in his first season as a Cavalier, averaging a career-high 28.8 points per game. The 26-year-old has certainly made an impact, so there is naturally some concern surrounding his most recent injury, a groin strain, suffered during Monday's win over the Pelicans.https://twitter.com/ChrisFedor/status/1615106299636719632?s=20&t=nIB5An7gWfmmxjT49g7LLAMitchell exited in the third quarter and did not return to the contest, finishing with 11 points in 22 minutes. The former Louisville Cardinal has stayed relatively healthy in 2022-23, missing only five games. However, with the Cavs looking to make a deep run into the postseason, Mitchell may miss some games, beginning with Wednesday's meeting in Memphis.https://twitter.com/AmicoHoops/status/1615116579011690502?s=20&t=8uEcBgsFXrfQNXVsKuQmNAWithout him in the lineup, others will have to step up. Sun Jan 8 202318:59Darius Garland Good To Go Sunday
Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Darius Garland (thumb) will play Sunday against the Phoenix Suns. Garland was a true game-time decision has he continues to play through pain in his thumb. Garland went through pregame warmups and was able to be cleared to play. Garland will continue to play through the injury while having his thumb taped up. This may hurt Garland's shooting as he gets used to the less mobility in his shooting hand, but it should not be any cause for worry with fantasy managers.

Sun Jan 8 202311:43Darius Garland Back On The Injury Report
Cleveland Cavaliers guard Darius Garland (thumb) is questionable ahead of Sunday's meeting in Phoenix. The 22-year-old returned on Friday against Denver following a three-game absence because of a thumb injury. However, he re-aggravated the ailment during the game, so there's a chance he'll get the night off. Donovan Mitchell will likely slide into the point guard slot if Garland isn't available and see a bump in usage. At the same time, Caris LeVert, averaging 15.1 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.7 assists in 20 starts this season, may remain with the starting unit.

Fri Jan 6 202320:19Darius Garland Will Play Friday
Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Darius Garland (thumb) will rejoin the lineup Friday against Denver. He has missed three games with a sprained right thumb and the team considered him questionable for Friday's contest, but Garland is now officially ready to go. It remains to be seen how much the thumb injury still bothers him. If he can play near his full ability, this will be a great spot for the rising star, as Donovan Mitchell (rest) has the night off and all of the offense will run through Garland. It's also worth noting that the Nuggets allow the most points per 48 minutes in the league to opposing point guards.

Fri Jan 6 202317:30Darius Garland Earns Questionable Tag For Friday’s Game
Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Darius Garland (thumb) has been deemed questionable to play in Friday's contest vs. Denver as he deals with a sprained right thumb, although he was able to participate in pre-game shootaround. Garland has been sidelined for each of Cleveland's last three outings due to the ailment, which has allowed Caris LeVert to slot back into the starting five. With Donovan Mitchell (rest) already out Friday, LeVert would stand to see a significant offensive role if Garland remains out of the mix, while Raul Neto and Cedi Osman would figure to get added ballhandling opportunities. Check back for final word on Garland's status.

Wed Jan 4 202318:13Darius Garland Officially Out Wednesday
Cleveland Cavaliers guard Darius Garland (thumb) will miss Wednesday's game against the Phoenix Suns. Garland will miss his third straight game with a sprained thumb, but there are rumblings of him returning on the weekend. Caris LeVert will continue to start and Donovan Mitchell should see a boost in usage as well. Both are excellent DFS options against the Suns.

Tue Jan 3 202321:57Darius Garland Listed As Doubtful Wednesday
Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Darius Garland (thumb) is doubtful to play Wednesday against the Phoenix Suns. Garland is trending towards missing his third straight with a right thumb sprain. If that is the case, Caris LeVert would be in line for another start and would be a good target for Wednesday's DFS slate. Donovan Mitchell should also see a heavy workload on offense coming off his 71-point performance Monday.

Sun Jan 1 202322:15Darius Garland Doubtful To Suit Up On Monday
Cleveland Cavaliers guard Darius Garland (thumb) was unable to play in the team's last game due to a thumb sprain on his right hand. The team officially listed him as doubtful for their next contest on Monday night against the Chicago Bulls. If he's unable to get back on the court, Caris LeVert will have added value as a bigger part of the offense. Cedi Osman and Lamar Stevens would both have some streaming value as well.

Sat Dec 31 202217:26Darius Garland Questionable On Saturday
Cleveland Cavaliers guard Darius Garland (thumb) is questionable for Saturday's meeting with Chicago. He suffered a thumb injury during Thursday's matchup against Indiana, causing him to miss Friday's practice. Donovan Mitchell will slide over to the point if Garland doesn't play, while Caris LeVert would presumably enter the starting unit and take over at the two. LeVert has averaged 14.1 points, 5.1 assists, and 4.6 boards in 16 starts this season, so he'll be a must-start if Garland can't go.

Fri Dec 30 202216:56Darius Garland Unable To Practice Friday
Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Darius Garland (thumb) was kept from the practice floor Friday due to a right thumb injury that he sustained Thursday against Indiana. With the Cavs set to take on the Bulls on Saturday, Garland's status is up in the air. The 22-year-old has made a case for a second consecutive All-Star appearance this year, even as Donovan Mitchell joined the backcourt. Shooting a career-high 40 percent from long range, Garland is one of just 34 qualified players at that mark around the league. An absence Saturday would elevate Mitchell's DFS appeal, along with that of Caris LeVert, who would stand to see more usage. Fantasy managers will want to check back Saturday for further updates.

Tue Dec 27 202207:59Darius Garland Erupts For 46 Points Against Nets
Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Darius Garland was unconscious against the Nets on Monday, racking up 46 points in a 125-117 loss. He was 5-for-7 from three-point land and shot 14-for-20 overall with a 13-for-15 record at the foul line. Through 40 minutes of action, Garland also tallied three rebounds and eight assists with one steal. This was a special performance from the 22-year-old, but actually not Garland's best outing of the campaign, as he had a 51-point outburst against Minnesota on Nov. 13. Garland's scoring numbers have dipped significantly this month, but it looks like he's about to have a strong finish, and meetings against the defensively-challenged Pacers and Bulls looks great spots to put up big numbers.

He logged 25 points, seven assists, and two rebounds while shooting 7-for-12 from the floor and 4-for-7 from deep. His offensive contribution allowed the whole starting five to get some rest as only one played 30 minutes in this game. The star guard has been enjoying a big hot streak over the last four games, averaging 35 points per game during that span.

Sun Nov 13 202221:16Darius Garland Pours In 51 Points In Loss
Cleveland Cavaliers guard Darius Garland got the first 50-point game of the season on Sunday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Despite the 124-129 loss, the 22-year-old put up 51 points, two rebounds, six assists, and two steals on 16-for-31 shooting from the floor and 10-for-15 from deep. He tied CJ Miles for the second-most threes made in a game in the team's history. The only player with more was Kyrie Irving. This was a very encouraging sight as Garland has only shot better than 40% twice in his last six games before this one.

Sun Nov 6 202214:55Darius Garland Will Suit Up Versus The Lakers
