Now, out of the two games that he's played against Philly this season, Edwards is averaging 28.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game. Fri Feb 17 202312:22Anthony Edwards Scores Team-High 34 Points In Loss
Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards scored more than the team's bench combined as they went on to lose 114-106 to the Washington Wizards on Thursday. The 21-year-old All-Star ended the game with 34 points, five rebounds, three assists, three steals, and one block while shooting 11-for-26 from the floor and 3-for-10 from the free throw line. Fri Feb 10 202309:25Navigating The Clippers Trade Deadline Moves - Fantasy Basketball Impact
The Los Angeles Clippers are in the heat of the congested Western Conference playoff race and were one of the more active franchises during Thursday's trade deadline. The Clippers had some glaring needs, specifically at the point guard position, and needed to surround their star forwards, Paul George and Kawhi Leonard, with more talent to compete in the loaded Western Conference. The Clippers were able to execute three separate trades on Thursday. First off, the Clippers were able to secure Bones Hyland from the Denver Nuggets for a couple of second-round picks. Then, they set their eyes on veteran guard Eric Gordon in a three-team trade, sending off John Wall to the Houston Rockets and Luke Kennard to the Memphis Grizzlies. Lastly, the Clippers moved ... Thu Feb 9 202322:16Russell Westbrook Traded To Jazz - Fantasy Basketball Impact
The Russell Westbrook experiment in Los Angeles has been less than ideal over the past two years and has officially come to an end. With the West stocking up everywhere, the Lakers knew they had to make a splash in order to make a push to the playoffs. The Lakers executed a three-team trade with the Utah Jazz and Minnesota Timberwolves, involving a total of eight players and multiple draft picks Wednesday night. The Lakers sent Russell Westbrook, Juan Tuscano-Anderson, and Damian Jones to the Utah Jazz in exchange for Malik Beasley and Jarred Vanderbilt while also acquiring D'Angelo Russell from the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Jazz also sent Mike Conley and Nickeil Alexander-Walker to the Timberwolves while accumulating even more draft capital. So just what is the fantasy basketball fallout of this blockbuster trade? Let's examine how each of the teams and players in the deal may be affected going forward.

Fantasy Basketball Fallout: Russell Westbrook

Westbrook is expected to be bought out from Utah and enter free agency. There are already rumors of teams interested in the veteran point guard, including the Los Angeles Clippers, Miami Heat, and Chicago Bulls. If Westbrook were to be claimed, he would likely be given a prominent role immediately given these three teams are all lacking in the point guard position. Westbrook's caveat has always been his personality fit so it remains to be seen how well he can mesh with his new team if he is claimed.

Fantasy Basketball Fallout: Lakers

The Lakers get some much-needed spacing and size with the additions of Russell, Beasley, and Vanderbilt. Russell is shooting a career-high 39.1 percent from three while averaging 17.9 points, 6.2 assists, and 1.1 steals per game this season. Russell should absorb Westbrook's minutes and will likely start at point guard over ... [More]
Thu Feb 9 202311:43Anthony Edwards Fills Stat Sheet In Timberwolves Win
Minnesota Timberwolves shooting guard/small forward Anthony Edwards had himself a game in Wednesday night's 143-118 blowout win against the Utah Jazz. The 21-year-old stud recorded 31 points, seven rebounds, eight assists and one steal in 33 minutes while shooting 13-for-27 from the field. With Karl-Anthony Towns (wrist) missing a significant amount of time this season, Edwards has been the No. 1 guy for the Wolves. Jaylen Nowell also saw a nice workload, logging 30 points, four rebounds, six assists and two steals in 29 minutes while shooting an excellent 11-for-16 from the field and 6-for-9 from deep. Nowell was put into the starting lineup with the recent departure of D'Angelo Russell, and he should be viewed as a viable streaming option in deeper leagues. Still, his value will decrease once Russell Westbrook arrives in Utah.

Sat Jan 28 202307:49Anthony Edwards Leads Minnesota To Victory
Minnesota Timberwolves guard/forward Anthony Edwards filled up the stat sheet and led the team to a 111-100 victory against Memphis on Friday. He scored a team-high 25 points and had seven rebounds and seven assists with one block. Edwards hit a nice 3-for-5 from outside and 9-for-18 overall from the field. The 21-year-old has started to blossom into a superstar and has given his numbers a big boost this month, averaging 26.4 points with 5.5 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 1.4 steals. Edwards had a run of 30-point games stop at three on Friday, but he finds himself in a superb situation to start a new one in the next couple of contests, as the T-Wolves are scheduled to play two consecutive games against a pacy Kings team that is ranked only 23rd in defensive efficiency.

Sun Jan 22 202308:56Anthony Edwards Scores At Will Against Houston
Minnesota Timberwolves guard/forward Anthony Edwards had a season-high 44 points in Saturday's 113-104 win over the Rockets, shooting 17-for-29 from the field with a spectacular 8-for-16 effort from downtown. He didn't hold back defensively either, racking up three steals and three blocks. In 41 minutes on the floor, Edwards also posted six rebounds and four assists with five turnovers. Edwards' scoring form has been inconsistent all month, but he got hot right from the off Saturday and ended up reaching the 40-point plateau for the first time this season. With the next game also against the horrible Rockets, Edwards has a great opportunity to show some consistency and start picking up pace for the second half of the season.

Both players have been dealing with lingering injuries, but they appear to be healthy enough to suit up for this game. Naz Reid won't have as much streaming appeal with Gobert healthy and in the starting five.

Wed Jan 11 202320:41Anthony Edwards Won't Return On Wednesday
Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards (hip) won't return to Wednesday's game against the Detroit Pistons. The young guard has been battling through left hip soreness the last few games. Clearly, it is still bothering him as it was forced him to miss the rest of this game. It's uncertain if this issue is going to force Edwards to miss more than just this contest. Jaylen Nowell started in the second half of Wednesday's contest. He'd get a boost in fantasy value if Edwards is forced to miss more time.

Wed Jan 11 202315:03Anthony Edwards Questionable For Wednesday's Game
Minnesota Timberwolves guard/forward Anthony Edwards (hip) is questionable for Wednesday's matchup versus Detroit. He hurt his hip last Friday against the Clippers and managed to play through the injury Sunday versus Houston, but could now be forced to take some time off. With that said, it's worth noting that Edwards was also questionable for Sunday's game and still ended up playing 37 minutes, so managers shouldn't be surprised to see the same happen on Wednesday. However, if Edwards can't go in the end, Jaylen Nowell and Austin Rivers should share most of the available minutes.

Initial reports had Edwards unlikely to play Sunday, but he will play through some hip soreness he's been dealing with. If Edwards were to miss any time with an injury, Taurean Prince and Jaylen Nowell would be next in line for minutes.

He exited Friday's win over the Los Angeles Clippers because of a sore left hip, allowing Jaylen Nowell to finish with 14 points and six assists. Sat Jan 7 202307:38Anthony Edwards Suffers A Hip Injury, Expects To Miss Sunday
Minnesota Timberwolves guard/forward Anthony Edwards left Friday's contest against the Clippers with hip soreness and doesn't expect to play Sunday versus Houston. The injury limited him to only 23 minutes of action and a season-low five points. It also comes at a really bad time, as Edwards was enjoying a nice scoring spurt, averaging 30.3 points per game across the previous four contests. He is the Timberwolves' leading scorer with 23.7 points, and Edwards is also boasting career numbers with 6.2 rebounds and 4.4 assists. Austin Rivers and Jaylen Nowell should share Edwards' minutes whilst he's unavailable.

Sat Dec 31 202219:36Anthony Edwards Will Play Saturday
Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards (hip) is available for Saturday's game against the Detroit Pistons. This is great news after Edwards was considered questionable earlier in the day due to a left hip contusion. He fell hard during Friday's game, but appears to be good enough to suit up on Saturday. The 21-year-old has been a stud lately, so fantasy managers better make sure Edwards is in their lineups for Saturday's slate.
