Mon Jan 19 201512:58Andersen (illness) full participant in Monday's practice
Andersen (illness) was a full participant in Monday's practice.
Andersen missed Friday's game due to the illness, but his full participation and the lack of an injury label likely indicates he will return Tuesday. He should receive a status update prior to the game confirming his status one way or the other.
Fri Jan 16 201522:26Andersen (illness) will not play against Kings on Friday
Andersen (illness) will not play against the Kings on Friday, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Andersen came down with an illness and was a late scratch for the Heat, who started Hassan Whiteside at center for the second straight game. With three days off until the Heat's next game Tuesday versus Oklahoma City, Andersen will likely miss only one game.
Fri Jan 16 201509:48Andersen came off bench for just 12 minutes against Warriors on ...
Andersen came off the bench for just 12 minutes against the Warriors on Wednesday as he managed to register two points and two rebounds.
Andersen enjoyed a brief stint in the starting lineup but was replaced by the up-and-coming Hassan Whiteside on Wednesday. One game hardly represents the season as a whole, although this is likely a long-term move as Andersen slots back into a limited role off the bench where he's excelled in past seasons.
Wed Jan 14 201522:47Andersen moved to bench role for Heat on Wednesday
Andersen has been moved to a bench role for the Heat on Wednesday, the Warriors' official site reports.
Hassan Whiteside is making his first career start at center, and he's been the Heat's best center since the New Year. Andersen was originally brought to the Heat to be a backup, and at age 36, there's a good chance he'll stay in a bench role the rest of the season.
Mon Jan 12 201518:13Andersen will remain Heat's starting center Tuesday at Lakers
Andersen will remain the Heat's starting center Tuesday at the Lakers, the Miami Herald reports.
Coach Erik Spoelstra made the announcement Monday, even though Andersen hasn't aided to winning ways in six games since Chris Bosh returned to action. While Andersen has averaged six points (on 59 percent shooting), five rebounds, 1.2 blocks, and one assist in 21 minutes during that span, Spoelstra said that the emerging Hassan Whiteside will be a part of the starting five after halftime going forward, which could hinder Andersen's value.
Tue Dec 30 201414:48Andersen will remain Heat's starting center
Andersen will remain the Heat's starting center, even with Chris Bosh back in the mix, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Bosh returned Monday after missing eight games and started in the frontcourt alongside Andersen, who entered the starting five two games into Bosh's absence. While the Heat are just 2-5 in games Andersen starts, coach Erik Spoelstra said he'll keep the veteran in the lineup going forward. Over his last nine games, Andersen is averaging 6.9 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.0 block in just under 23 minutes.

Andersen will start next to Chris Bosh (calf) on Monday against the Magic.
During Bosh's eight-game absence to tend to a calf injury, Andersen averaged 7.1 points (on 67 percent shooting), 6.1 boards, one block, and one steal in 23 minutes. Considering his level of play, Andersen is unlikely to deviate much from the aforementioned run.
Mon Dec 22 201408:39Andersen (ankle) posted seven points, six rebounds, one assist, ...
Andersen (ankle) posted seven points, six rebounds, one assist, and two steals in 24 minutes of action Sunday against the Celtics.
Andersen made the most of his minutes due to the injury of Chris Bosh (calf). Still, he's struggling with his own health issues, which means his minutes will always be limited. Andersen usually provides a decent output of blocks (though it wasn't evident in Sunday's performance), but other than that, his fantasy value is limited.
Sun Dec 21 201416:51Andersen (ankle) will play Sunday against Celtics
Andersen (ankle) will play Sunday against the Celtics, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Andersen is still dealing with a lingering ankle issue, but he'll play through the discomfort Sunday after seeing 19 minutes against the Wizards on Friday. Andersen is a valuable rim-protector and rebounder for the Heat, but he doesn't offer much from a fantasy perspective.
Thu Dec 18 201403:50Andersen scored six points (3-6 FG) and added nine rebounds and ...
Andersen scored six points (3-6 FG) and added nine rebounds and one steal in 26 minutes of play against the Utah Jazz on Wednesday.
As long as Chris Bosh (calf) is out, Andersen will accumulate more minutes. He received ten more minutes on Wednesday than his season average and was almost able to get a double-double. Andersen is likely to score little, but even a ten point output in combination with ten rebounds would be a solid short term option while Chris bosh is without a certain timetable to return.
Wed Dec 17 201418:53Andersen will join Heat's starting lineup Wednesday
Andersen will join the Heat's starting lineup Wednesday.
This doesn't mean much from a fantasy perspective, as Andersen's minutes will remain fairly constant. He played 20 minutes off the bench in his last game, and could see a minor bump Wednesday.
Mon Dec 15 201400:42Andersen returned from ankle injury on Sunday to play 18 minutes...
Andersen returned from an ankle injury on Sunday to play 18 minutes off the bench. He finished with two points (1-1 FG), three rebounds,, one assist, and one block.
Andersen has not played many games this season as he's been battling injuries thus far into the young season. He provides a vital defensive role for the Heat, and they can use all the help they can get at the moment. Justin Hamilton has been the starting center lately for the Heat and if Andersen begins to show he's healthy it's possible for him to earn a role in the starting lineup.
Sun Dec 14 201417:22Updating previous note, Andersen (ankle) will be available off b...
Updating a previous note, Andersen (ankle) will be available off the bench Sunday against Chicago.
Andersen, who has not played since Nov. 23, is still dealing with some minor discomfort in the ankle, but he'll be an option off the bench for the Heat, who are without Chris Bosh (calf) and Josh McRoberts (knee). Andersen has the potential to grab a fair number of rebounds, as well as block a few shots, but he's not a reliable fantasy option in most formats.
Sun Dec 14 201416:49Andersen (ankle) will not play Sunday against Bulls
Andersen (ankle) will not play Sunday against the Bulls.
As expected, Andersen will remain out - he hasn't played since Nov. 23 - as he shoots for a return Tuesday in Brooklyn. With Chris Bosh (calf) and Josh McRoberts (knee) also ruled out, the Heat will be shorthanded in the frontcourt Sunday.

Andersen (ankle) will likely return to the lineup against the Nets on Tuesday, the Sun Sentinel reports.
Andersen has been sidelined with a sprained right ankle since Nov. 23. He has averaged 15.8 minutes on the court over nine games this season and won't likely provide much of a fantasy impact when he returns to health.
Wed Nov 26 201413:05Chris Andersen: Out 2-3 Weeks With High Ankle Sprain
Andersen has a high ankle sprain and will miss two-to-three weeks, the South Florida Sun Sentinel's Ira Winderman reports.
While Andersen is sidelined, Josh McRoberts, Shawne Williams and Udonis Haslem will take the frontcourt minutes alongside Chris Bosh.

Andersen (ankle) will be out "a little while," according to coach Erik Spoelstra, Ethan Skolnick of Turner Sports reports.
Andersen went down with a sprained ankle early in Sunday's game against Charlotte and did not return. X-rays on the ankle returned negative, but Andersen is dealing with a fairly severe sprain and will likely miss a handful of games in the short-term. He won't play Tuesday against the Warriors and should be considered very questionable for Sunday's matchup with the Knicks.
Sun Nov 23 201418:53Andersen suffered sprained ankle in first quarter of Sunday's ga...
Andersen suffered a sprained ankle in the first quarter of Sunday's game against the Hornets and will not return, Joseph Goodman of the Miami Herald reports.
X-rays on the ankle came back negative, but Andersen will be held out for the rest of the game, and his status for Tuesday's matchup with the Warriors is in jeopardy. Prior to exiting, Andersen did not record any statistics in two minutes of action.
Thu Nov 13 201416:28Andersen (ribs) returned to court Wednesday after missing previo...
Andersen (ribs) returned to the court Wednesday after missing the previous five games. He finished with zero points and four rebounds in 17 minutes.
Andersen will likely be in a limited bench role as a defensive stopper for the Heat again this season. His fantasy value is currently limited to the deepest of leagues. Unless the Heat had several injuries open up minutes for Andersen, it's highly unlikely that he will be of use in most leagues this season.
Tue Nov 11 201412:47Andersen (ribs) expected to return for Wednesday's game against ...
Andersen (ribs) is expected to return for Wednesday's game against the Pacers, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Andersen has missed the last five games with bruised rib, but indications are that he'll be able to play Wednesday in a rematch of the last two Eastern Conference Finals. With Justin Hamilton (groin) also injured recently, the Heat have missed Andersen's rim-protecting presence, and his impending return should alleviate some of the pressure on Chris Bosh defensively.
