Fri Jun 3 202211:46Nolan Gorman To Return On Friday
St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Gorman (back) will return to the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Chicago Cubs. He has missed each of the last three games due to back stiffness. However, the young infielder is ready to give it a go during Friday's contest. He'll serve as the designated hitter and bat second versus right-hander Marcus Stroman. Fantasy managers should make sure Gorman is back in their lineups for Friday's game.

Fri Jun 3 202206:49Nolan Gorman Expected To Return On Friday
St. Louis Cardinals second baseman Nolan Gorman (back) is expected to be back in the starting lineup for Friday's day game against the Chicago Cubs. Gorman was held out of each of the last two games due to lower-back tightness. Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol stated that Gorman came through his pregame work on Thursday fine and that the decision to keep him out on Thursday was essentially to ensure he'd be a "full go" on Friday. The rookie is off to a great start to his MLB career. Over 10 games, he's slashing .387/.472/.677 with two home runs, seven RBI and nine runs.

Thu Jun 2 202218:01Nolan Gorman Still Sidelined
St. Louis Cardinals second baseman Nolan Gorman (back) is still out of the starting lineup on Thursday against the Chicago Cubs. It will be the third straight game on the sidelines for the Cardinals infield prospect due to lower-back tightness. The 22-year-old was scheduled to take batting practice before the game, so he could be available to pinch hit. In his first 36 big-league plate appearances, Gorman has gone 12-for-31 (.387) with two home runs, seven RBI and nine runs scored. He should be rostered in all fantasy formats at this point and should continue to see regular playing time at second base, when healthy. Fellow rookie Brendan Donovan will play the keystone and hit fifth on Thursday against Cubs right-hander Keegan Thompson.

Wed Jun 1 202212:43Nolan Gorman Still Out Wednesday
St. Louis Cardinals second baseman Nolan Gorman (back) remains out of the starting lineup on Wednesday against the San Diego Padres. Gorman will miss his second straight game due to lower-back tightness. The 22-year-old prospect has been excellent in his first 31 major league at-bats, and he should be rostered in all fantasy formats. He's gone 12-for-31 with two home runs, seven RBI and nine runs scored to kick off his big-league career. Hopefully, he'll return to the Cardinals lineup this weekend. Brendan Donovan is at the keystone and is batting leadoff on Wednesday against Padres right-hander Yu Darvish. Donovan, a fellow rookie, has played very well in 29 games, but he's gone just 2-for-16 (.125) in the last seven days.

Wed Jun 1 202200:26Nolan Gorman Out Tuesday With Lower Back Stiffness
St. Louis Cardinals second baseman Nolan Gorman (back) was not available for Tuesday's 3-2 extra-innings win over the Padres due to lower back stiffness, per beat writer Jeff Jones. Gorman experienced similar stiffness in the spring, but has seen regular playing time of late and has slashed an impressive .387/.472/.677 in his first 10 games with the Cardinals. It sounds as though he is day-to-day at this time. This is good news for fantasy managers, as the 22-year-old prospect already seems like he can be an impact fantasy player in what has been a relatively weak position to this point.

Tue May 31 202215:39Nolan Gorman Resting Against Padres
St. Louis Cardinals rookie infielder Nolan Gorman is not in the starting lineup on Tuesday against the San Diego Padres and left-hander Blake Snell. Gorman went 3-for-3 with a two-run home run and two runs scored in Monday's win, and the 22-year-old prospect has been excellent in his first 10 major league games for the Cardinals. He's gone 12-for-31 with two home runs, seven RBI and nine runs scored in 36 plate appearances with five walks and 10 strikeouts. Gorman should continue to be an everyday player and needs to be rostered in all fantasy formats. Tommy Edman will slide over to second base on Tuesday, with Edmundo Sosa getting the start at shortstop while batting seventh in the lineup.

Sat May 21 202218:17Nolan Gorman Sitting Against Lefty On Saturday
St. Louis Cardinals second baseman Nolan Gorman made his MLB debut in Friday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. He went 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in the game. On Saturday, the Cardinals will be going up against Pirates left-hander Jose Quintana and Gorman is not included in the starting lineup for the game. Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol cited Gorman's concerning splits against lefties in the minors as his reason for benching Gorman in his second day in the majors. Luckily for Gorman, the Pirates have right-hander Bryse Wilson on the mound on Sunday so we should see him back in action for the series finale.

Fri May 20 202214:03Nolan Gorman Hitting Sixth In MLB Debut
St. Louis Cardinals infield prospect Nolan Gorman is starting at second base and is batting sixth in the batting order in his major league debut on Friday against Pittsburgh Pirates right-hander Zach Thompson. With Tommy Edman sliding over to shortstop, Gorman should operate as the team's primary second baseman for the foreseeable future. The 22-year-old should be picked up in all fantasy formats if he remains on your league's waiver wire. Gorman was hitting .308/.367/.677 with a 1.044 OPS, 15 home runs, four doubles, 23 RBI, 31 runs scored and three stolen bases in 34 games for Triple-A Memphis before his call-up. He doesn't have much left to prove in the minors and could immediately become fantasy relevant in St. Louis, even in shallow mixed leagues.

Thu May 19 202217:58Nolan Gorman To Be Promoted For MLB Debut Friday
St. Louis Cardinals infield prospect Nolan Gorman will be promoted from Triple-A ahead of Friday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. According to Cardinals beat writer Derrick Goold, Gorman will start at second base while making his MLB debut on Friday. Gorman is ranked as the 29th overall prospect in the majors by MLB Pipeline. He has been simply on fire at Triple-A this year, slashing .308/.367/.677 with 15 home runs over 34 games. He's worth adding in just about all fantasy leagues due to his considerable upside.

Fri May 13 202209:00Nolan Gorman Continues To Mash In Triple-A
St. Louis Cardinals infield prospect Nolan Gorman has refused to cool off and went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run for Triple-A Memphis on Thursday. The slugger homered 11 times in April and has now gone deep twice in the month of May. For season, he is hitting .286 with 13 home runs, 20 RBI and a sparkling 1.008 OPS. Brought up as a third baseman, Gorman has been playing second base with Nolan Arenado going nowhere for the big-league club. With shortstop Paul DeJong recently demoted, it wouldn't be a surprise to second baseman Tommy Edman eventually shift to shortstop with Gorman getting playing time at second base. The universal designated hitter also would allow him to get at-bats at the big-league level. With not much left to prove, it shouldn't be long before Gorman gets his call to the show. Managers in redraft leagues should start to consider stashing the former first-rounder and he should already be rostered in all dynasty leagues.

Fri Apr 29 202211:34Nolan Gorman Promotion Seems Unlikely
St. Louis Cardinals infielder Nolan Gorman is unlikely to be called up to the big league roster anytime soon. The young slugger already has 10 home runs in Triple-A this season. He is clearly ready for the MLB, but the Cardinals don't have an everyday spot for him yet. Paul DeJong is struggling with the bat, but the team isn't ready to give up on him. That being said, fantasy managers shouldn't expect Gorman in St. Louis anytime soon. He'll likely be called up at some point this season, but only when the team feels he'll get significant playing time.

Mon Apr 18 202213:06Nolan Gorman Showing Impressive Power In Triple-A
St. Louis Cardinals infield prospect Nolan Gorman stayed hot for Triple-A Memphis on Sunday. Gorman went 1-for-3 and belted his sixth round tripper of the season. The slugger has now hit a solo home run in four consecutive games. On the year, Gorman is now hitting .351 with six home runs and six RBI in 37 at-bats. Gorman has possessed plenty of power since being drafted in 2018, but also tends to hit a lot of groundballs. With third baseman Nolan Arenado going nowhere on the big-league club, Gorman switched to second base in 2021 and has also seen at-bats as the designated hitter for Memphis. The Cardinals may still want to give Gorman some more seasoning, but with the way he is hitting thus far and with the designated hitter now in the National League, it shouldn't be too long before fantasy managers have the chance to see Gorman's power in the show.

Wed Mar 30 202210:50Nolan Gorman Sent To Minors
The St. Louis Cardinals reassigned infielders Nolan Gorman, Kramer Robertson and Anderson Tejeda, pitchers James Naile, Zach McAllister and Kyle Ryan, catcher Clint Coulter and outfielders Alec Burleson and Conner Capel to minor league camp on Wednesday. The moves leave the Cardinals spring training camp roster at 40 players. Gorman is the team's No. 2 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, and he is making the full-time switch from third base to second base with Nolan Arenado at the hot corner in St. Louis. The 21-year-old has impressive power and hit .279/.333/.481 with a career-high 25 home runs, 75 RBI and 71 runs at Double-A Springfield and Triple-A Memphis last year. Expect him to make his major league debut at some point in 2022.

Sun Mar 27 202214:50Nolan Gorman Scratched With Back Tightness
St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Gorman (back) was scratched from the Grapefruit League lineup on Sunday against the New York Mets with lower back tightness. It's unclear how serious Gorman's injury is, but we'll keep a close eye on his status in the coming days. The 21-year-old is ranked by MLB Pipeline as the No. 33 overall prospect entering the 2022 season, and he's competing in camp for a spot on the team's Opening Day roster. If he's in the big leagues this year, he'll likely see most of his playing time at the keystone, with Nolan Arenado entrenched at third base. The left-handed hitter has the potential to be a serious power threat at the next level, although he did hit more ground balls at Triple-A in 2021.

Thu Mar 10 202222:12Nolan Gorman Enters Spring Training Fully Healthy
St. Louis Cardinals' third baseman Nolan Gorman (hamstring) has been a full participant during the minor-league camp and is expected to open the season at Triple-A Memphis. In the Arizona Fall League, a hamstring issue limited him to just six games in October. The 21-year-old is regarded as one of the top-hitting prospects in baseball and will be shifting from third base to the keystone in 2022. Gorman's elite power, solid bat speed, and ability to spray the ball will give the Cardinals another potent bat in their lineup. He crushed 25 homers over 119 games between the two affiliates in 2021. Gorman will most likely get called up during mid-season and is worth stashing in deep-league formats for 2022.
