OF Paulo Orlando got a rare start in right field against a right-handed starter, Julio Teheran, but struck out three times and was hit by a pitch. With OF Jarrod Dyson struggling at the plate, 4-for-his-last-35 (.114), manager Ned Yost said Orlando would get more playing time to keep Dyson fresher.
