Torres, now 29 years old, is fielding offers from other Japenese teams and some Korean clubs. He could also sign a minor league contract and return to the states. The right-hander had a 6.86 career ERA in the bigs. |

The White Sox threw him on waivers Tuesday so that he can attempt to resurrect his playing career (and earn a little more money) overseas. The 28-year-old Torres posted an 8.56 ERA and 2.34 WHIP in 13 2/3 big-league innings this past year, but he looked far better down at the Triple-A level. |
