Fri Nov 21 201413:45Arroyo (elbow) expected to return before All-Star break
Arroyo (elbow) is expected to return before the All-Star break, the Arizona Republic reports.
It will be interesting to see if that timetable holds up as Arroyo continues to move forward in his recovery. He had the procedure on July 11, which would require him to return within 366 days of the operation in order to pitch ahead of the 2015 All-Star break. At the very least, the aggressive timetable being offered up suggests that he's progressed well to this point in rehab.

Mon Jul 7 201418:05Arroyo will undergo Tommy John surgery
Bronson Arroyo has decided to undergo Tommy John surgery.
Arroyo didn't have any issues after he played catch last Friday following a few weeks of down time. However, the veteran right-hander has ultimately decided that it's best to go ahead and have his sprained ulnar collateral ligament operated on. He'll be sidelined until around midseason next year.

Fri Jul 4 201418:57Bronson Arroyo plays catch Saturday
Bronson Arroyo (elbow) played catch without difficulty on Friday.
It's the first step in the recovery process for the veteran right-hander who is attempting to pitch through a sprained ulnar collateral ligament in his elbow rather than opting for Tommy John surgery. While he felt good Friday, it's still a longshot that he returns to be a contributor in mixed leagues at any point this season.

Sun Jun 29 201409:43Arroyo (elbow) close to resuming activity
Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson said Saturday that Bronson Arroyo (elbow) is close to resuming activity.
Arroyo couldn't straighten his arm out fully in the middle of last week, but he's evidently made progress over the last few days. "The thought is he's getting closer," Gibson said. "It's getting to time where he's gonna think about doing some stuff." Arroyo will try to pitch through a sprained ulnar collateral ligament, but Tommy John surgery remains a distinct possibility.

Tue Jun 17 201422:06Arroyo (elbow) diagnosed with sprained UCL
Bronson Arroyo has been diagnosed with a sprained ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow.
Arroyo will be shut down for 10 days to see how the elbow responds. Obviously the hope is that rest and rehab work, but Tommy John surgery is always a possibility when the UCL is involved. Arroyo pitched through elbow pain for a few weeks before finally landing on the disabled list for the first time in his career on Monday.

Mon Jun 16 201422:02D'Backs awaiting MRI results on Arroyo
The Diamondbacks are waiting on the results of an MRI performed on Bronson Arroyo's right elbow.
The D'Backs think Arroyo is just dealing with tendinitis, but they sent him for the MRI just to be safe. The hope is that Arroyo, who has dealt with the elbow issue for a few weeks, will be fine after a couple weeks of rest. "I think the last three times he's went out there, he's been at about 50 percent," general manager Kevin Towers said. "It's pretty amazing that he's posted the type of numbers [he has]."

Mon Jun 16 201418:15Arroyo (elbow) makes first ever trip to DL
Diamondbacks placed RHP Bronson Arroyo on the 15-day disabled list with right elbow tendinitis.
It's the first time during his 15-year career that the veteran right-hander has landed on the DL. Arroyo's elbow ailment first cropped up late last month, and it came to a head when he had to depart Sunday's outing. It's not clear at this point how long he'll be sidelined. The D'Backs haven't named a rotation replacement yet, but Randall Delgado is an option.

Sun Jun 15 201421:08Arroyo gives up one run over five vs. Dodgers
Bronson Arroyo allowed one run on five hits over five innings in a win over the Dodgers on Sunday.
It was a typical Arroyo start -- some hits allowed, but just one walk and one strikeout, and most importantly, just one run given up. The right-hander has now won three straight to run his record to 7-4. Arroyo will take a 4.08 ERA and 1.29 WHIP into his start against the Giants on Friday.

Tue Jun 10 201420:09Bronson Arroyo holds down Astros
Bronson Arroyo twirled seven frames of one-run ball in Tuesday's 4-1 victory over the Astros.
Arroyo allowed six hits -- five of them singles -- while walking two and striking out five. The veteran right-hander had allowed at least four runs in three of his last four starts, so this was a nice bounce-back outing. Arroyo has a tough matchup this weekend on the road against the Dodgers.

Fri Jun 6 201400:39Arroyo pitches well enough for the win vs COL
Bronson Arroyo got the win, allowing four runs over 6 1/3 innings as the D'Backs defeated the Rockies 12-7 on Thursday.
It wasn't pretty, but Arroyo was able to escape a typical offense-packed game at Coors Field with the win, bumping his record up to 5-4. The right-hander allowed six hits -- including home runs to Charlie Blackmon and Troy Tulowitzki -- while walking two and striking out four. Arroyo will take a 4.50 ERA and 1.31 WHIP into his next start at home against the Astros.

Sun Jun 1 201410:33Bronson Arroyo gets cortisone shot in elbow
Bronson Arroyo was given a cortisone shot in his right elbow after Friday's start against the Reds.
Arroyo has now dealt with a sore elbow in each of his last two outings. It doesn't appear at this point that he's in danger of missing his next start, but we'll just have to wait and see if the shot takes its desired effect. Arroyo holds a 4.39 ERA this season but put up a 2.49 mark in May.

Sat May 31 201400:41Bronson Arroyo gives up five runs in loss
Facing his former team for the first time, Bronson Arroyo gave up five runs in seven innings to take a loss to the Reds on Friday.
It was a grand slam from Devin Mesoraco that did him in during the second. Arroyo spent eight years with the Reds before not being invited back last winter, so this one was probably a little weird for him. He gave up five runs for the fourth time this year, but he had been pitching much better lately, allowing one or no runs in four of his previous five starts. Unfortunately, he has a tougher assignment coming up next week against the Rockies in Coors Field.

Sun May 25 201416:51Bronson Arroyo goes six strong in no-decision
Bronson Arroyo spun six innings of one-run ball but took a no-decision in Sunday's win over the Mets.
Arroyo had thrown just 75 pitches, but he was removed for a pinch-hitter in the seventh inning because his elbow was a bit tender. The veteran righty is expected to be fine for his next start. Arroyo boasts a 1.73 ERA in five starts this month and will try to keep it going next weekend against versus his former team, the Reds.

Tue May 20 201422:42Arroyo allows five runs in loss to Cardinals
Bronson Arroyo allowed five runs on nine hits over seven innings in a loss to the Cardinals on Tuesday.
Arroyo never stood a chance at earning the victory with Adam Wainwright dealing a one-hit shutout on the other side, but the 37-year-old wasn't at his best Tuesday. He gave up seven extra-base hits, including two home runs, of his nine hits allowed. He didn't walk a batter while striking out six. It snapped a string of three straight wins allowing one run or fewer for the veteran right-hander. He'll try to get back on the horse Sunday at the Mets.

Wed May 14 201400:06Arroyo goes the distance to beat Nationals
Bronson Arroyo turned in a complete game gem on Tuesday, restricting the Nationals to one run in a 3-1 win.
Arroyo scattered seven hits, walked one, and struck out seven. Nobody is more pleased -- or relieved -- by Arroyo's recent resurgence than GM Kevin Towers. The veteran has now strung together four straight stellar outings after opening with a 9.50 ERA in four outings, leaving him 4-2 with a 4.24 ERA and 1.35 WHIP. Unless you're an NL-only player, Arroyo isn't a fantasy option when he toes the rubber against the Dodgers on Sunday.

Wed May 7 201416:04Arroyo goes seven-plus to beat Brewers
Bronson Arroyo held the Brewers to one (unearned) run over 7 1/3 innings in Wednesday's victory.
Arroyo had the Brewers lineup off balance for much of the afternoon, yielding only five hits while picking up four strikeouts. He has now strung together three straight impressive outings, though we wouldn't expect the good times to last. Arroyo faces the Nationals next. He has a 4.89 ERA and 1.42 WHIP on the year.
