Rusin allowed three runs on eight hits and three walks while striking out three, in a no-decision Wednesday against the Mariners.

Rusin pitched well enough to keep the Rockies in the game, but he burned through 96 pitches while allowing 11 Mariners to reach base, forcing the early exit. He's struggled to keep runners off the bases all season, as opponents have hit .311 against him. His next start will be Tuesday at the Mets.

Rusin gave up six runs on 10 hits to go with five strikeouts in five innings Thursday against the Cardinals.

Rusin struggled on the mound again and has now given up 10 earned runs in 10 innings over his past two starts. He did, however, hit his first major league home run to tie the game in the fourth and thus avoided picking up the loss. For the season, the 28-year-old has a lackluster 4.61 ERA and 1.56 WHIP in 11 starts. He'll look to bounce back in his next outing Tuesday against Seattle.

Rusin (3-4) allowed five runs (four earned) on 10 hits in Saturday's home loss to Cincinnati. He struck out five and walked none in five innings of work.

Rusin came into the game with a surprisingly low 3.00 ERA at Coors Field, but he turned in his worst home performance of the season against the Reds. The 28-year-old doesn't offer much upside, as he possesses a below-average strikeout rate (6.20 K/9) and has never finished a season with an ERA better than 3.93. The lefty's next trip to the mound will be Thursday at St. Louis.

Rusin now has five quality starts in his last six outings, albeit two of them thanks to unearned runs like Monday's. These runs Monday were about as unearned as they can get -- the Rangers' three-run fifth inning came thanks to Rockies first baseman Ben Paulsen forgetting how many outs there were on a groundout, a bonehead play that cost Rusin the chance to win the game. His ERA sits at a respectable 3.88, particularly solid for a Rockies pitcher.

Both runs scored against Rusin were solo shots by Mike Trout, who homered in the first and in the sixth. Rusin has now pitched four consecutive quality starts but has been rewarded with only one win in that span. He'll head into the All-Star break with a 4.13 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 34:16 K:BB ratio in 52.1 innings over nine starts.

Rusin shut out the Diamondbacks for five innings and drove in the Rockies' only run with a two-out single in the fifth, but the Arizona offense scored eight runs in the final three innings, resulting in a loss for the 28-year-old. For the season, Rusin has an uninspiring 4.27 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 32:14 K:BB ratio. He'll look to bounce back in his next start Wednesday against the Angels.

Rusin picked up the win in a 10-4 victory over the Brewers on Sunday, allowing three runs and seven hits with no walks and two strikeouts in six innings of work.

After getting hit around in his last two starts, Rusin was able to make quick work of the Brewers in this one, throwing just 84 pitches in the contest. While his strikeout total was low once again (five strikeouts combined in his previous two outings), the 28-year-old was able to induce 10 groundball outs and minimize the Coors Field effect. For now, Rusin will remain in the Rockies' rotation and look to build upon this start against the Giants on Saturday.

Rusin was tagged for seven runs on nine hits over four innings in a losing effort against Houston on Tuesday afternoon.

The left-hander entered play Tuesday with a career 9.9 H/9 as a big leaguer, and his contact-prone tendencies presented a challenge against a very righty heavy Houston lineup. For now, Rusin will stick in the Colorado rotation, and he'll face another righty-heavy lineup when the Brewers visit Coors Field on Sunday in his next scheduled start.

Rusin (2-1) gave up 11 hits and six runs in Thursday's loss to the Marlins. He walked two and struck out one.

After beating David Phelps and the Marlins last week, Rusin was roughed up for six runs and received his first loss of the season in four starts. He'll get another start when he takes the mound at Houston on Tuesday.

Rusin went seven innings in a win over the Marlins on Saturday, allowing two run on seven hits and two walks while striking out eight.

The lefty carried the success he enjoyed in two road appearances into his first start of the year at Coors Field. He kept the ball out of the thin air, giving up a mere three flyballs in the outing, and induced plenty of swings and misses -- seven of Rusin's eight punchout came on swinging strikes. He will face these same Marlins again in his next start, this time in Miami.

Rusin will start Saturday against the Marlins, the Denver Post reports.

Rusin earned the starting assignment by allowing one run on eight hits over 11.2 innings in two appearances after his late-May callup. Both of those appearances came on the road, however, and most will want to wait and see how he fares at Coors Field on Saturday before thinking about picking him up. Rusin will have to hold his own to maintain the rotation spot vacated by Jordan Lyles (toe).

Rusin picked up the win in relief Sunday against the Phillies, after holding the home team without a run in his 4.2 innings of duty. He scattered four hits and a walk and struck out two.

Rusin was forced to make a de facto spot start after Jordan Lyles was forced to exit midway through the second inning, when he aggravated a left big toe injury. Despite the lack of prep time, Rusin was fantastic, just as we was when he started in place for Rusin on May 26 against the Reds, when he yielded only one run over seven innings. Manager Walt Weiss has already ruled out Lyles for his next scheduled turn, so it seems safe to reason that Rusin will be the top choice to join the rotation. While he's been great over his two appearances thus far with the Rockies, Rusin's ugly 6.29 ERA and 1.70 WHIP at Triple-A Albuquerque prior to last week's promotion to the big leagues suggests enthusiasm about the lefty's fantasy prospects should be tempered for the time being.

Rusin will likely just stay with the Rockies for one spot start, and there's some chance Tuesday's game will be postponed due to rain. For the corresponding transaction, Yohan Flande was optioned to Colorado Springs, Nick Groke of The Denver Post reports.

Rusin was sent down to Triple-A Albuquerque after Wednesday's doubleheader against the Diamondbacks, the Denver Post reports.

The Rockies brought Rusin aboard as their 26th man for the doubleheader, but elected not to use him in either game. With his services no longer needed, he'll head back to join the Albuquerque rotation, where he had posted a 6.23 ERA and 10:5 K:BB ratio over his 21.2 innings in Triple-A.

Rusin may not see any action with the Rockies, as he will be used as an emergency bullpen arm. Look for Rusin to be sent back to Triple-A following the second game Wednesday.
