Medlen whiffed seven in the dominant performance. After a rough start to his season, Medlen has really come on strong as the Braves prepare to head into the postseason. He wraps up his regular season with a 15-12 record, 3.11 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 157/47 K/BB ratio over 197 innings. He doesn't quite have the elite strikeout rate of an upper echelon starter in mixed leagues, but should still be one of the top 25 starting pitchers off the board on draft day next Spring.

His line could have looked much worse, but Alex Wood managed to escape with just one run scoring in the frame. Medlen has allowed 16 runs in 22 1/3 innings over his last four starts, with his ERA increasing from 2.96 to 3.64 on the year. He's currently on pace for a career-high in innings pitched, so it will be interesting to see whether the Braves consider moving him to the bullpen once Brandon Beachy (elbow) is deemed ready. Just something to keep an eye on.
