Fri Jun 11 201023:19Harden's problems continue
Rich Harden was tagged for six earned runs in six innings during a loss to the Brewers on Friday night.
The good news is that Harden made it through the sixth inning for the first time in his last seven starts. The bad news is that he's walked at three batters in each of his last three outings and his 5.68 ERA is for real. We're not holding out much hope for a turnaround as the weather gets warmer in Texas.
Tue May 4 201001:12Rangers' Harden manhandles A's
Rich Harden shut out the A's for seven innings and struck out a season-high nine to win on Monday.
The seven innings were also a season high, as Harden entered averaging under five innings per start. He had a relatively easy go of it tonight, allowing just two hits and walking none. Still, he threw 108 pitches, even on a night when he was at his best. He's just not going to work deep into games with much frequency.
Thu Apr 29 201000:12Harden gets job done in ugly win
Rich Harden picked up his first win as a Ranger on Wednesday, giving up three earned runs over six innings against the White Sox.
Harden continues to struggle badly with his control, and admitted that he's having trouble finding his arm slot. He walked five and plunked two batters in this one, and now has 25 walks in 23 2/3 innings on the season. Until he starts throwing strikes, Harden must be reserved.
Fri Apr 23 201023:52Harden lasts just 4 1/3 innings
Rich Harden lasted just 4 1/3 innings against the Tigers on Friday night, giving up two earned runs on six hits and four walks.
Harded threw 99 pitches in his short time on the hill. He's now walked 18 batters in his four starts and has made it to the fifth inning or later just once. It's a very bad sign that he's healthy (we think) and struggling with his command this badly. Leave him reserved against the White Sox next week.
Sun Apr 18 201016:05Harden walks six in loss to Yankees
Rich Harden allowed four runs and lasted just 3 2/3 innings in a loss to the Yankees today.
Harden was extremely wild, walking six and hitting a pair of batters. He did manage to strike out five, but he also gave up four singles and a homer. Harden will get the Tigers next time out, but it's tough to trust him in mixed leagues given the start he's off to.
Mon Apr 12 201018:25Harden goes six in no-decision against Tribe
Rich Harden yielded two runs in six innings Monday in a no-decision against the Indians.
Harden was somewhat improved today, though he was facing a pretty weak Indians lineup that was missing Grady Sizemore. Just 59 of his 105 pitches were strikes, and he fanned only two. He has a ways to go before he should be trusted in mixed leagues.
Wed Apr 7 201023:16Harden fans eight in no-decision vs. Jays
Rich Harden struck out eight batters over 3 2/3 innings Wednesday in a no-decision outing against the Blue Jays.
Harden surrendered only one earned run, but he rung up a high pitch count early with five walks and the big strikeout number. He looked nasty, but obviously needs to show better control next time out against the Indians.
