Wed Sep 5 201202:18Stults impressive in no-decision vs. Dodgers
Eric Stults was impressive in a no-decision against the Dodgers on Tuesday, allowing just one run on seven hits over his six innings.
Stults walked one and struck out one on the evening. The only run he allowed came in the second inning on a solo homer from Andre Ethier. Stults has pitched very well in 14 appearances for the Padres (10 starts), posting a 5-2 record and 2.35 ERA. With the Padres' new six-man rotation, he won't get the ball again until Tuesday when he takes on the Cardinals at home.

Wed Aug 29 201221:53Eric Stults looks good again
Eric Stults was superb for the Padres again Wednesday, allowing just one unearned run on five hits and two walks over six innings in an 8-2 win over the Braves.
Michael Bourn drove in a run on a sac fly in the fifth innings after Logan Forsythe's throwing error, but that's all the Braves could muster of the well-traveled left-hander. Stults hasn't allowed an earned run in his last two starts and has given up just one earned run over 13 2/3 frames this month against the Braves. He'll take a 2.43 ERA and 1.11 WHIP into next week's start against the Dodgers.

Sat Aug 25 201200:50Eric Stults does it all in beating D'backs
Eric Stults pitched seven scoreless innings and knocked in three runs as the Padres beat the Diamondbacks 5-0 on Friday night.
Definitely a game to remember for Stults, a 32-year-old journeyman who entered the night with 11 career victories. He allowed just three hits and went 2-for-3 at the plate, upping his career RBI total from four to seven. He's worth using in NL-only leagues while in the Padres rotation.

Tue Aug 7 201200:52Eric Stults combines on shutout for Padres
Eric Stults scattered five hits over 5 1/3 innings and combined with four relievers on a shutout of the Cubs on Monday.
Padres relievers combined to retire all 11 batters they faced after Stults left the game. It's pretty much the recipe in San Diego; hope the generic starter can keep the team in the game for five or six innings and then let the bullpen do it's thing. It worked out great tonight in a 2-0 win.

Fri Aug 3 201220:19Stults will replace Wells in Padres rotation
Padres manager Bud Black announced Friday that Eric Stults will replace Kip Wells in the Padres rotation.
The 35-year-old Wells was the most logical candidate to lose his spot, with Ross Ohlendorf pitching better in recent weeks. Stults will return to a 1-2 record, 3.19 ERA and 12/9 K/BB ratio over 31 innings. He could be worth a look as a matchup play in deeper mixed leagues when pitching in the friendly confines of Petco Park.

Fri Aug 3 201214:20Stults could take Ohlendorf's spot
Eric Stults could replace Ross Ohlendorf in the rotation next week.
Stults came on to stop the bleeding Thursday after Ohlendorf lasted just 1 2/3 innings in a loss to the Reds. The left-hander posted a respectable 4.06 ERA in four starts earlier this year for the Pads before going on the DL with a strained lat muscle.

Sun Jul 8 201208:35Eric Stults to begin rehab assignment
Eric Stults (lat) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Tucson Thursday.
Stults threw a 48-pitch simulated game Saturday with no issues and is ready to test himself out in game action. "He looked okay, a little rusty," Padres manager Bud Black said of Stults. "Now it's a matter of regaining arm strength." Stults will make at least two rehab starts for Tucson. With the injuries to the Padres' rotation, there's a good chance the big club will need him after that.

Thu Jun 7 201213:47Padres place Stults on DL
Padres placed LHP Eric Stults on the 15-day disabled list with a strained lat muscle.
It's an injury that can sideline a pitcher for more than a month. Stults, 32, has registered a 4.44 ERA and 1.19 WHIP in 24 1/3 innings since joining the Friars. Andrew Cashner will make a spot start on Saturday.

Sun Jun 3 201222:31Eric Stults roughed up against Diamondbacks
Eric Stults was tagged for six runs over 6 1/3 innings in Sunday's loss to the Diamondbacks.
Stults didn't get in trouble until late, giving up five of his runs in the sixth and seventh innings. He ended up striking out four, walking two and yielding seven hits. Stults has now given up 10 earned runs in his last 12 2/3 innings and isn't a recommended option in Milwaukee next weekend.

Thu May 24 201223:47Stults strong in victory over Mets
Eric Stults pitched very well against the Mets on Thursday, allowing just one unearned run on four hits over five innings of work.
He struck out two and walked one on the night. The only run that Stults allowed came courtesy of a Nick Hundley throwing error in the second inning. The only thing he couldn't do on the night was lay down a successful sacrifice bunt, failing twice. It appears he's done more than enough to earn himself another start in the rotation, which would come against the Cubs in Chicago on Tuesday.

Eric Stults will start Saturday against the Angels.
Stults, who was just claimed off waivers from the White Sox, will replace the injured Tim Stauffer (elbow) in the starting rotation. The 32-year-old left-hander owns a 4.84 ERA over 25 starts and 18 relief appearances in the majors and can be ignored in fantasy leagues.

Eric Stults was solid in a spot start Monday, giving up just two runs on four hits and four walks over six innings in a loss to the Indians.

Sun May 6 201218:29White Sox summon Stults for Monday start
White Sox purchased the contract of LHP Eric Stults from Triple-A Charlotte.
Stults will pitch Game Two of Monday's doubleheader against the Indians. He will be sent right back to the minors after the game. Chicago is still contemplating if they will call up a reliever for Monday's games. Double-A lefty Jose Quintana is rumored to be that guy if they decide to do so. As for Stolts, the veteran southpaw holds a 2.20 ERA over five starts at Triple-A Charlotte, striking out 26 over 28 2/3 innings. He should be avoided for fantasy purposes.
