OF Trayce Thompson, RHP Frankie Montas and 2B Micah Johnson were acquired by the Dodgers from the White Sox as part of a three-team trade that sent 3B Todd Frazier to the Reds.Thompson, 24, batted .295 with five home runs and 16 RBIs in 44 games with the White Sox last season. He also appeared in 104 games with Charlotte, hitting .260 with 13 home runs and 39 RBIs. Thompson is the brother of Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson.

Thompson went 1-for-3 with a home run, a walk and two RBI in a 3-2 loss to the Yankees on Thursday.

Thompson was recently moved up to the three-hole and this performance shows why. In 35 games played, Thompson has a .315 average with five homers, eight doubles and 15 RBI to obtain an OPS just shy of 1.000. It remains to be seen if this will continue next year, but he's worth a flyer in drafts to see if he does.

Thompson had been dealing with a sore elbow which caused him to miss the previous three games, but that injury won't cause him to miss a fourth, as he's batting fifth in the lineup and playing in left field against the Indians on Friday.

The 24-year-old was forced to sit Tuesday due to a left elbow sprain, suffered on a diving attempt Monday, but evidently it was a relatively minor issue. Thompson went 2-for-4 with a solo homer in Wednesday's 6-4 loss to the Indians.

Thompson has been productive since his early August promotion from Triple-A Charlotte, hitting three home runs with ten RBI in limited action. The 24-year-old has put up decent figures in the minors; hitting for a low average while supplying a moderate amount of power and speed. With little incentive for the White Sox to play their veterans, Thompson will likely start regularly down the stretch as he auditions for an everyday role next season.

Thompson went 2-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI in a 4-2 win over Seattle on Thursday.

Thompson should be added to the "Splash Brothers" moniker as he's making quite the splash at the big leagues right now. In 12 games played, he has an absurd .519 average and 1.515 OPS. Obviously he cant continue this pace, but he should definitely be opening the eyes of standard mixed league owners with his impressive form.

Thompson went 3-for-4 with three RBI in the White Sox's win over the Red Sox on Tuesday.

He was a home run shy of the cycle in what was one of his finest offensive performances in the bigs. For now, Thompson's playing time is limited to games against left-handed starting pitchers when Adam LaRoche heads to the bench. That could change in September if the White Sox decide they want to see more.

Thompson will remain on the White Sox's roster after the team designated Emilio Bonifacio for assignment Sunday, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Thompson's stay on the active roster could have come to an end Sunday when the club activated J.B. Shuck from the disabled list. Instead, the team dumped the veteran Bonifacio in the interest of providing some more major league looks to Thompson. Thompson should see action against left-handed pitching (when DH Adam LaRoche is on the bench), but it is unclear if he or Shuck will be the team's primary backup outfielder.

Thompson launched his first career home run Tuesday off of Hector Santiago.

The outfielder also drew a walk in his three plate appearances. Although he hasn't played too much since his recall from the minor leagues, Thompson is 4-for-9 with a couple of extra base hits in his short time in the majors.

Thompson is out of the lineup Monday against the Angels, according to Colleen Kane of the Chicago Tribune.

Thompson got the start in center Sunday, but gives way to Adam Eaton on Monday. Thompson is 3-for-7 in his major league career with a double. He went 1-for-4 Sunday as the starter.

Thompson was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte on Monday.

Thompson was having a solid year in Triple-A, hitting .260 with 13 home runs and 39 RBI. He'll provide extra help in the outfield for the White Sox after the injuries to Emilio Bonifacio and J.B. Shuck have decimated their depth.

Thompson could join the White Sox as a reserve outfielder as soon as Sunday, the Daily Herald reports.

Both Emilio Bonifacio and J.B. Shuck landed on the disabled list in recent days, so the White Sox's outfield is in need of extra bodies. Thompson carries the most upside of the current crop of Triple-A outfielders, with the potential to accumulate double digit home runs and steals over the course of a full season. However, he probably will not see sufficient playing time to put up interesting counting stats.

Thompson hit two home runs Monday for Triple-A Charlotte.

Thompson's brother, Klay, has been putting on a show in the NBA playoffs, so he put up some highlights of his own Monday. Thompson's first season at Triple-A has gone as well as anyone could have expected, with a .270 batting average and .447 slugging percentage through 57 games. However, he is striking out once every five at-bats while walking infrequently. The White Sox's organizational depth in the outfield is thin, so multiple injuries could potentially force him onto the major league roster later this season.

The White Sox optioned Thompson to Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday, the Daily Herald reports.

Thompson enjoyed his best spring to date before his inevitable demotion to the minors. He went 7-for-17 (.412) with one home run and just one strikeout in 13 games. This season will be his first at the Triple-A level, and he could be in the majors later this year if the club's thin outfield gets hit by injury.
